I am on the Presidential Honors Society for SCC and was going to take a semester of BIOL430 at ARC…read more Reason for attending ARC was because a professor, Heather Fajardo, who I had my eyes on had great reviews from ratemyprofessor.com. 4.9 out of 5 rating, difficultly level 2.5, and 30-points extra credit provided throughout the semester. Two weeks before the fall semester started, I get an email from an Indian professor about BIOL430. I'm like in my Connor McGregor's voice, "Who tf is this??" I immediately log into eServices to find out who this guy is. There was a last-minute change on the professor I had picked ahead of time WITHOUT any notification(s) to myself or the students. So, I immediately go online and CANNOT find anything about this "new" professor. I searched online and there were no leads. First day of class, I go in as hopeful as any other student to find out what this professor is all about. The Dean for the Natomas Center walks in, introduced herself, welcomed us, and wished us a happy Fall Semester. That was great on her part!! After she left, our professor immediately jumps into the lecture. Did not give his name or an intro. One student asked the professor why he didn't go over the syllabus or tell us his name and the expectations of the class. His response, "You guys received an email before the class started." He received immediate backlash. The same student then asked the professor if this was his first time teaching. His reply, "Yes." A few students got up and left, one-by-one.... His lecture was all over the place and students sat frustrated, as there was a language barrier, and he wasn't clear on the anatomy parts when describing them. He flashed through each PowerPoint he created super-fast. Students were telling him to slow down. A few more students get up and leave... I did not speak nor say anything the whole class and was second guessing my decision. I sat there and gave this guy an opportunity to prove himself. I pride myself on the accomplishments I have made and how dedicated I am to connect with professors who care and will take the time to really put a lot of effort into me for me to get an A at the end of every semester. I felt as though, this professor, being that it was his first time teaching, would not be the professor for me. The way he started scared me, and other students, to let a semester go by to once again, join the process of searching for another professor for the Spring of 2025. And in case you're asking why I didn't just search another professor on eServices, it's because they're all filled. No professor was available. SHAME!!! Shame on the school for allowing professors to do this at the last minute. There should be a process before the semester starts, where professors need to apply for the next semester. They SHOULD NOT be able to drop the class after students do their research on the professor and have them locked in. When students start to enroll, professors cannot backout of a class. Now I have to go through a whole semester of waiting to find another great professor. Thanks ARC!!! You have failed. 1/3 of the class walked out and I'm pretty sure more dropped the class. This newly built building is located on the corner of Folsom Blvd and Mather. The parking lot is…read moreone way in and out... and so is the school. Sucks due to traffic! To enter the building you have to enter the front which is where everybody can see you from Folsom blvd. It's a bit of inconvenience but for safety reasons, I get it. Upon entry there's student services, and to the left they have a generic bookstore area (I can't really call it a bookstore because it's just a person behind the counter) and a lounge to chill/study. They have a copier for students to use in the lounge area (10 cents per page). The classrooms are pretty decent size and all new! No graffiti/doodling on the tables or odd gums underneath the tables, or stinky carpet. The bathrooms aren't disgusting either. This location isn't so bad, but the parking lot needs improvement.

There is a student lounge area with vending machines & tons of electrical outlets, so it is the perfect spot to charge your laptop or phone while you're waiting for your class to start, or need somewhere to hang out. After a break for a semester, I decided to look into programs I might have interest in and I discovered NCE Optician Technician! It's been going on for sometime but it was new to me! I got a call from Keenan and I thought I was getting into something shady... but I had nothing to lose. I decide to show up to the meeting and Keenan showed enthusiasm and he knew his position really well. I won't lie he got me into this program with a little nudge and I'm glad I got in! My first day in the Optician class seemed very intimidating but also refreshing. Everyone seemed eager to learn. Mr. C was an amazing teacher, gets straight to the point, teaches you what you need to know and if you have any questions that he might not know, he will find the answer pretty quickly. Mr. C has a very fun personality and honestly, I will miss this program. The counseling was great, the financial staffs gets straight to the point on your financials, and they help you with your externship! I'm starting my externship on Tuesday and I'm super excited! I hope whoever is reading this, whoever has bad eyesight and want to learn more about eyes, consider Optician Technician! It's a fun learning experience and I believe if a drop out can do it, you can!

Honestly, this school was a very disappointing experience. I feel like they take your money with…read morepromises that don't really match what you end up getting. A lot of the time, it felt like we were just watching YouTube videos or listening to teachers teach from old books and lesson plans instead of getting the education and hands-on experience I expected. I also experienced what felt like favoritism, and there were issues with the way some staff treated students and handled complaints. What was especially disappointing was the feeling that staff would discuss students negatively after the student had walked away or after a phone call had ended. That kind of behavior makes it very difficult to feel respected or comfortable bringing concerns to them. Another major concern was student privacy. I personally saw and received information belonging to other students that should not have been shared. Thankfully, I'm an honest person and did not misuse any of it, but it was still very concerning. Overall, this was a messy and frustrating experience. I would strongly recommend doing your research before spending your time and money here. Your experience may be different depending on the teacher you get, but I personally would not recommend this school.

Wow ! I can't believe I'm the first one to write a review! Well, it has been nearly twenty years…read more(gasp) since I went here, but oh well, may as well drag up some old memories and write about it. When I went here, it was an okay place. There was the library, which I probably set foot in maybe twice in four years. Of course there was the cafeteria, which seemed fuddy duddy, gym room, etc. Del Campo never had its own football stadium so all of our home games were played at San Juan High School. It was kind of a drag, but that's how it goes. Computers were still a new fangled thing, but we had Apple computers in Yearbook. In fact, a lot of my computer skills were the things I learned there. French class was my absolute favorite. Madame Eisner was the best! I took a trip to Europe with her too. My English teachers were fantastic, in particular Mr. Cody. High school years were not "the best years of my life", but college years definitely were. With that in mind, maybe I'm not the most unbiased person to write this review, but isn't that reviews are meant for?

However they did not address that kids with low gpa's would not be able to attend prom before hand. My best friend suffers from adhd and chronic migraines so it makes it difficult for her to complete school tasks. Because of the school's late notice of the gpa rule she had already bought her dress and now she's unfortunately not able to attend. This school is ableist. L School. Not to mention she's depressed.
