My main Educational Goal-- I was looking at The Pharmacy Technician program. Price $16,000. Pretty steep price tag, so I looked at all options. Everywhere. Met with a GREAT STAFF that assisted me with all my questions and concerns; From Eddie the Admissions advisor, Brandi the wonderful and kind Receptionist and finally got all my financial aid questions about school from a very nice and wonderful "new- hire", person named Bernadette. They make you feel like your home and welcome all concerns on classes and open enrollment. You can't go wrong here, if you appreciate they're way of teaching. This is more or less, study techniques where you basically learn all on your own. Small study room, small break area and a clock to check in & out of your arrival & departure times. The business instructor, Athena, has given exams we aren't prepared for and pushed us to vendors that we aren't ready to work with. What makes this worse is her lack of availability for students when we have any sort of questions. She also often seems very jittery and I'm fairly certain there have been a few times I have smelled alcohol coming off her as well. This is a huge disappointment as the rest of the college staff and faculty are wonderful. read more

The staff gets to know their individual students. They also help push you to meet your goals and be succeed. I wish I can go back to the school but I am too ashamed. I started at Asher because I needed a specific set of skills and a specific credential by a date not too far away. They made it possible for me to achieve an Associates' degree in 18 months while also raising three kids and working two jobs. Taking one fast-tracked course every 5 weeks is intense, but it's more manageable for me than doing several classes every semester. I prefer the depth of focus I can achieve by learning this way. It has been good, given the pandemic throwing everyone for a loop the staff handled the change very well and are very supportive. I have thankfully had the pleasure of having Karen in my corner and she has been amazing. She is always there when I need her or run into any problem. She always goes out her way when she hasn't heard from me and just checks in. My only problem has been lectures I work a full time job & many times lectures are not available after I get home from work or before I have to be at work. It would be nice to have later lectures for people who do school after work. read more

I have been part of the Asher family for over 4 months and I am so glad I decided to choose Asher college for my education. The staff are amazing and are there for any questions or concerns I have. The hours are flexible and you are able to set your learning pace accordingly. There is no one standing over you, frowning down upon you because you are falling behind, but there is an amazing family that will support and help you with challenges you face. I came to Asher College as a newly single mother and divorcee with minimal job experience. My first few months at Asher were filled with anxiety and fear, I was not sure of what I could accomplish and had no self confidence. Initially I had the intention of just gaining an Office Administration certificate, by the time I had accomplished that I had enough confidence to strive to obtain my AAS in Office Accounting. I completed that task with the help, dedication and true moral support of the Asher staff. I can proudly say that 4 years after my starting at Asher I have surpassed any goals I had set for myself. The Career Success and ACD classes that Asher offers truly impacted my life and the person that I have become today. I successfully landed a job, strictly due to the fact that I would soon be attaining my AAS and 4 years later I have landed a dream job and next step in my career and would not have obtained this success had it not been for my time at Asher. I was shopping around for pharmacy tech school between Carrington college and Asher college. Carrington has a bigger campus but more pricey than Asher. Went to both campus but Asher is the college I chose. It wasn't that Asher has lower price on my degree, but the friendliness staffs that sold me. They didn't let me down and work with me since. While studying my degree, I met more instructors and they seem helpful steering me to the right path by keeping me on course. Hands on training and labs. I completed the Pharmacy Technician program in 2010. The most important take away for me was Visualize: See yourself doing what you want to do. The access to experienced Instructors, qualifying curriculum and the opportunity to do well was just what I needed to get to the next step. When I joined Asher College, I thought it was going to be very similar to, or just like, my previous college. I was wrong. First of all, Asher college is more of a "go at your own pace" type of school where we all sit down at our computers in a quiet environment and study to our hearts content. Second, even though we can go at our own pace, we still have instructors in the environment where we can converse with or ask for help--whether it's just a quick question about something, to understand a concept, or to network. It also helps that the instructors are easy to get along with. The downside to this, though, is that you can quickly get behind if you lose motivation to learn your subject. All in all, I think that Asher College is a wonderful school that can change your life if you're willing to work hard and persevere. read more

Save your time and your money and avoid Asher College unless what you are looking for is a self-study testing facility. I was told that they provided a classroom college setting with a teacher teaching you. That is a complete lie! The only teacher you see is the one assigned to you when you first start and their job is to harass you to make sure you test on time, otherwise, they do not get paid. They provide you with a book, some printouts, and an outdated online video library to watch (which I am assuming is the teaching portion), and they offer use of their computer lab to watch these irrelevant, hard to follow videos on. There is also an array of about 5 different irrelevant lectures that they repeat every week. They provide the building for you to self-study in and offer you a place to test after said self-study. Most of the students I watched come and go during my time there were angry and frustrated and most of them were pushed through the program without ever obtaining their CompTIA certifications. That is exactly why I stood up for myself and refused to be pushed through their program without my certifications. Bottom line is they are misrepresenting their program. I wasted 10 months of my life (and $9,000.00 is what they are trying to charge me, which I am disputing) trying to make this lie of a program work because once I was in it and realized that they had lied I didn't know how to get out of it. I thought that I had done my research and checked out all the necessary agencies to make sure they were a legitimate school before I even talked to my husband about taking on this enormous cost at a time when our family really couldn't afford it. I felt so defeated and lacked the confidence to stand up for myself until I watched it happen over and over, student after student being scammed out of an education and certification. Now I'm angry, and I will not stop until either Asher is made to change how they sell their program and stop lying about what that program is, which is a testing facility, that provides you with a book, lab printouts, and a self-study low-quality video program to watch, and a test prep program to use to test your self-taught knowledge, and charge tuition based on exactly what they provide only, or I want them to shut down! I don't mean shut down and allowed to re-open under a new name like I discovered after a little digging on the internet that they have already done once before because of a large number of complaints about this same issue. read more
