Odd experience. Seemed like a nice guy. Made the right promises about 2-yr warranty and being easy…read moreto work with. Price was okay. I liked that he was an owner operator who was actually doing the work so planned to go with him. Then his contract showed up.... in non-editable PDF form and was extremely lopsided: $200/day late fee, he can quit the job anytime but I couldn't, warranty was expressly disavowed, not responsible for breakage, etc. As a tip, if you decide to move forward with him, make sure you check his insurance policy. If I read the indemnities section correctly (which is difficult), his liability is capped at whatever insurance he carries. That means that if a worker falls off your roof and sues you in excess of his insurance, you're on the hook, even if they are negligent. When I tried to make a more reasonable agreement and align his written word to his spoken word, he declined the job. Guessing he's had some bad experiences and over-reacted.
