I have used Sherwood Self Storage several times for years. The management personnel during this…read moreperiod were great and prices for storage has always been competitive or reasonable. However, they have just recently been taken over by new management, as of January of 2022. This new management is truly all about money and not customer service. I rented a storage room again in August of 2021 under the old management. I set up my payment on automatic draft. The management team at that time were awesome and even gave me a new lock free, when the other was having issues opening. In January of 2022, a new Management team took over. everything was fine, as long as I had not called them, or they contacted me. however, in March, the new management team sent an email with payment request, alerting all renter that a $10.95 insurance charge would be applied to your renter fee. So, if you were on automatic draft, you may not notice or open this email. On March 31st a draft was attempted for storage payment. my automatic draft was denied, and I receive an email from Sherwood self-storage, telling me my draft did not go through. on that same day, I logged in the pay storage online. that is when I noticed the $10.95 cent new charge. This was April 1st. So, I paid my original fee of $99 and submitted. I email the office and let them know I was not in agreeable to the charge, and it was not in my contract. I ask to get my own or use my homeowner insurance. the text response, advise me, I will still have to pay for this month, before April 5th or I will be charged a late fee and locked out. I explain that I did not get this notice earlier enough and I would rather use my insurance carrier or my home policy. I provided documents that shows I have personal property protection already. If I had got this notice earlier, I would have definitely used my home policy. However, if I was told they can wave fee for next month, but I will still have to pay for it this month or received late fees and be locked out on the 5th. on April 3rd, after back and forth I gave up and decided, even though i paid for the month of April already, I would move out the next day on the fourth, to avoid being locked out, and paying the extra fees. I rented a U-HAUL and entered the premises. I entered entry code to enter the location. I unloaded all my belonging out of my storage unit. I was getting ready to drive out, i entered my code in the keypad and it was denied. I tried several times, and it was denied. I looked toward the office, and I saw the new management looking at me and I was looking at them. they just stood there while I was pushing the button, this is the 4th of April and not the 5th. I have already paid for the month. they were keeping me from leaving the location by denying me exist. to keep from confrontation, I call the Sherwood police. The gentlemen heard me speaking to the police, then they clear the code an allowed my code to work. I cancel the police request and left the location with my personal property. That was a rude, and degrading. I dropped by on the 5th and handed in my keys. I also cleaned out the rental. I also let them know, they can keep the rental for that month, even though I was moving out on the 4th. it was not about the money, it was the lack of customer service and working with a willing, paying customer with a good history with this company. I am very disappointed in their responses, their actions and their wiliness to even keeping all of the month's storage fees. Never go back.

Three years ago I had to move my Mother from her apartment at the Lakewood House to Foxridge Assisted Living Facility. Didn't know how much stuff" she had in that 2 bedroom apartment - but it turned out to be a lot!!! Ended up renting 2 units. The personnel at Sherwood U Storage are so friendly and helpful. I have had to go get things out of the units several times, and they are always willing and able to help. Don't think there's a better place to store your valuable, and the rates are very reasonable. I only got a photo of the baby as the adults were too fast and scurried so thanks for that.... There were also brown recluse sheds just inside the door of the garage. They should really work on their pest control as that's disgusting, these are not "water bugs" but the infestation species of German cockroaches.

I…read morepaid for a full-service move, but key services were not completed, the cost exceeded the quote, and the overall handling of my move fell far below expectations. I hired this company because I needed help with a full move, including packing and assembly. My quote was around $2,900 and included services that were not actually completed. They did not pack my home as expected, leaving me to continue packing during the move, and despite those services not being done, the final cost ended up being even higher than the original quote. In addition, the move was delayed by a day and a half. On the morning I was expecting them, I was actively communicating with someone managing the move and had already provided my gate code. He later claimed I missed a call from headquarters, but I was under the impression that I was already speaking with the appropriate contact. Despite being present and in communication, I was not moved that day. I was also told they were closed on Sundays, which was not accurate, and I was unable to get additional boxes when I needed them. I had clearly communicated that I needed the remaining items packed, but that was not done. The move itself became chaotic. Their truck broke down, the move dragged on for hours, and my belongings did not arrive at my new home until around 9:00 PM. The movers were at my home until approximately midnight, and after all of those hours and the amount of money I paid, my home was still not livable. Nothing was assembled or set up in a way that allowed my family to even sleep there that night. Instead of being able to settle into our home after a professional move, I was left in the middle of the night trying to figure out where my children and I could sleep because the house was not functional or safe to stay in. Boxes and furniture were placed in ways that blocked hallways and access through the house, with heavy items stacked on fragile ones. Items were placed randomly instead of in organized rooms, leaving me unable to find what I needed, and the garage was filled to the point that I could barely function in my own home. All boxes were labeled as well. One of the biggest reasons this was so upsetting is that my daughter was recovering from ACL and meniscus surgery. I specifically needed this move handled professionally so we could have a safe, accessible living space, but instead we were left navigating around piles of belongings and blocked areas. Assembly was also supposed to be part of the service, but it was not completed as expected. Beds and other necessary pieces were not put together, leaving us without the basic setup we needed after a major move. Because so much was left unfinished and disorganized, it took me three separate trips and extra help to complete my move. It was a total of six hours driving time back-and-forth, but that doesn't count loading the cars and finishing a move by myself, and it caused me to miss two full days of work. I understand that unexpected problems can happen during a move, but what matters is how a company responds. After explaining everything that occurred, I was told they would not provide compensation or a refund adjustment, despite the incomplete services and the condition my home was left in. This was not simply a move that "didn't go perfectly." I paid a significant amount of money for a professional service so my family could transition safely into our new home, and instead I was left overwhelmed, physically exhausted, and still dealing with the aftermath. I reached out to the company and they refused to take any responsibility or compensate me for services i did not received and making this one of the most stressful experiences i have ever had moving. as a solo mom with an injured daughter and two small children, it will take me weeks of not months to get things livable.

Taylor (Owner and Site Supervisor) and Gabriel (Facility Manager) have gone above and beyond in every regard to provide me with the best customer service and all of the accomodations I could need. There are three floors packed with units ranging from a humble 4'x4' to units that could hold an entire household of 6's belongings. Every unit offers indoor, climate-controlled security with keypad entry. The top floor is street-level and houses the front office. It has a massive garage door that opens into a loading bay with a custom-made ramp that cleverly incorporates stairs into its design. The bottom floor offers direct access to the units through an equally large garage door with a fenced-in loading area, and there is also a unit available for vehicle storage. The middle floor is spectacular in its own right, with a huge street-accessible parking lot (available to all tenants) built on a plateau adjoined to the building with a robust walking bridge and a door large enough to accommodate tenants with large pieces of furniture. There is a bathroom available on the top floor as well as an entrance to the front office. Some of the superior services and conveniences I've experienced during my time renting here: * When I was moving in (an arduous feat for one man as I had a lot to move), Taylor and Gabriel both offered something to drink, as well as any physical help I might need. * A couple of occasions I have needed access outside of normal business hours. I simply contacted the MOD and was granted access. * I had a wire shelf that had come undone from its frame. I asked one of the maintenance staff if he had his welder with him and he confirmed that he did. I stepped out to grab some more items from my car for no more than ten minutes, and when I came back, he already had my shelf repaired and waiting by my unit. He insisted that he needed no compensation when I offered to pay him for his service, stating "It was no problem at all" with a smile. * I had lost the key to my lock. Taylor offered both her assistance and the tools necessary to remove the lock. * One time, the anti-theft system on my car prevented me from starting it while I was parked in the loading bay. Gabriel continued to check on me and offer his assistance, asking if there was anything I needed. The situation caused me to be there long after business hours, but Gabriel assured me there was nothing to worry about and made himself available until I finally got everything packed away. * Carts of all sizes and degrees of maneuverability are on-site and available to tenants, including a shopping cart. * Welcoming good vibes, patience, and overall friendly interactions with management. * Incredible pricing and units available in every size imaginable. * Conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Little Rock. * Full integration with any U-Haul account. I can pay rent, see my payment history, active rentals and more from my U-Haul app. * A sturdy Chateau disk lock provided free with every rental, as well as a trendy key fob so you can easily identify the key to your unit. * An adorable and super-friendly tactical office dog that loves to watch you while you unload as much as she loves a good petting. So far, I fail to find anything to complain about. The entire facility is incredibly secure with cameras inside and out, and every point of the exterior is video recorded and monitored 24/7. There is a manager on-site 24/7 as well, and in the event that anything were to happen there is already somebody at the scene to expedite the resolution of any situation that might arise. I truly feel like my things are safe, and I am constantly made aware that I am a valued customer at USA Self Storage's Union Station location.
