I must say although this hotel was rated 2 stars out of 5 I still wanted to try it for myself. The check in process was perfect, the landscaping was great. Photos online showed updated rooms. The room was clearly updated with linens and the bathroom fixtures were new as well. I did find some minor things that I addressed with the owner. I know everyone wants things perfect for a night away, but I believe in constructive criticism. I can assure you I wouldn't stay in a gross room so with that being said we both slept great! Were staying in the area for a wedding and wanted to save some money before having to stay in a more expensive hotel closer to the venue. Checked in the hotel at approximately 2:40 after taking the train from New York City. We noticed a strange smell when we walked in, but brushed it aside as the rooms were on the cheaper side for the area and we can live with a strange smell. We put our stuff down and walked to an early dinner nearby as neither of us had eaten since the morning, spent a couple of hours at dinner before returning to the hotel sometime around 5:20. When we got the the hotel we both decided that we wanted to relax and watch a show on our smart phone, and got into bed to discover that there was no fitted sheet on the bed, but rather a standard sheet that had been tucked in to look like a fitted sheet. The sheet didn't even run the full length of the bed, running about a foot short of the end. My wife discovered that the pillow had a dark stain on it, and we tossed it to the side deciding that we would just not use it as the other pillows appeared to be just fine. In order to remain comfortable due to the lack of sheet and due to my wife's concerns about bugs (this is true for all hotels, but the red flags put her on alert here) we decided to just sleep on top of the blankets and use the blankets and sheets from the other bed to sleep under. We watched a show for about an hour and then I got up to use the bathroom. The bathroom appeared recently refinished, which was a positive sign, but while I was in the bathroom my wife informed me that she found a toenail on the ground next to the bed. I went to wash my hands and found that the water did not heat up even after running the faucet for several minutes. I then turned the tub on to see if the water in the shower would warm up as I planned to wash that night. I began to search the rest of the room and took pictures of everything that I saw (photos attached to review). I returned to the shower after 10 minutes of having the water run at the hottest setting, the water was lukewarm and I found the dirt that is pictured. Neither of us had used the shower before this point. At this point my wife was making the call to set up another hotel room so that we would have a place to stay for the night. I decided to talk to the manager of the hotel about the state of our room and ask for a refund because there was nothing that could convince us to stay at this point. I explained what I had found and informed him of our intentions to leave and I requested a refund. The manager informed me that the owners were not in and would not be in until Monday. He looked at our check in time and saw that it was 6:40 and that because it had been 4 hours it was unlikely I could get a refund. He took my number down and explained there wasn't much more he could do. He then saw that we booked through a travel site and informed me that he would be unable to refund me because of this. There was nothing impolite about this interaction, the manager was polite and I understood, but made clear that we were leaving. My wife called the travel site who also contacted the manager who informed them he would not be able to refund us. We left the card with the manager and waited for an Uber to take us to our new hotel. While waiting in the parking lot near the front lobby, the manager and another woman stared at us through the window of the lobby, at one point opening the door and standing in it while staring at us. We were the only people around that they could have been looking at. It is impossible to tell for sure what this was about, but it made me and my wife feel very uncomfortable and unwelcomed. The proximity to Woodbury Commons is fantastic!! I stayed here because I had to be at West Point by 6 AM. It is very easy to find but it is certainly more of like a motel than a hotel. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, and check in/check out was fine and friendly. The hotel is shaped like a U so we were on the second floor of the bottom of the "U" shape. I didn't see in elevator so I am going to say it is not wheelchair accessible. I can't comment on the breakfast because we had to leave before it was "served". I was nervous to stay at a hotel with us being in the times of a pandemic. However I felt immediately comfortable. The room was absolutely prestine. Also the staff was incredibly nice. Great location as far as proximity to park, outlets, and a couple of great spots to eat. I highly recommend and will be going back! read more

This facility violates COVID 19 Safety Requirements -- the staff at the front desk does NOT wear masks, no hand sanitizers available. The room we were checked into had DIRTY bed sheets covered with pubic HAIR and SPERM stains. We were forced to spend the night in our car out of health and safety concerns. The staff and the manager of the hotel Mr Dilip Patel has refused to refund our money back, he is not answering our calls and emails. Horrible customer services, zero consideration for health and hygiene. This facility has been reported to the NY State Health Department for Violation of COVID Safety Regulations and there is currently an ongoing investigation in place. BLOOD ON THE SHEETS! This is a bang motel where people go to have sex, it's not for families or the average person! We booked through booking.com and paid extra to not have our cc charged until checkin. First, they charged our cc before we got there. Then, we saw blood on the sheets when we checked our room. We IMMEDIATELY called booking.com and took pics. We notified the front desk who offered us another room, which we didn't want bc after that, who would trust anything offered from this motel? The whole motel was FILTHY and smelled terrible. They checked the sheets and said they saw nothing on the sheets but then blamed it on the cleaning ladies. Aren't you responsible for your employees and the state of the motel? They wouldn't give us a refund. When booking.com called them, they ignored the call until I ran in and told them to answer the phone. Then they told booking.com that we were in the room for 45 mins, implying we put blood on the sheets (the blood they didn't see but we have pics of), which was an outright lie! Booking.com has the timestamp of when we called that disproves this. They told us the manager would be in the next day. We called and now the manager says it's rust! So first, they saw nothing and now they see rust?! I asked how they determined it to be rust-did they send it to a lab for a chemical analysis? Regardless, you can get tetanus from rust and many diseases are carried in blood! This is a health code violation and I'm filing a complaint with the department of health. They still were adamant about not giving us a refund. I would give this place zero stars if I could! I've never seen an establishment just blatantly lie and contradict themselves like this! Do yourself a favor and stay at The Hampton Inn down the road! It's VERY clean and reasonably priced. TL;DR-Unless you want diseases, do not stay at this motel! read more

So it is not the Ritz - One of the best places to stay is 2-3 minutes' drive away from Woodbury Common on Route 32 - a no frills motel - Americas Best Value Inn. You can walk to Woodbury Outlet if you are up to it (about a quarter mile). The rooms are old and you will not really want to walk around the room barefooted esp since there is a "out of the bathroom" sticky feel but it is cheap and the beds are clean enough. The airconditioning needs some "re-conditioning" cos you get a musky urine kinda smell when you turn it on. Ah well. You are going to hit the outlet before the stores open and get back so what you really need is a clean bed and a place to sleep. If you get to save a buck or two, more money to spend shopping! If you stop by one of the service centres / information centres along the way, remember to pick up a green "room saver" coupon book - you get the room for $55 instead of $70. You can book it online with your AAA card for about $64 +++ but with the coupon you pay about $59 with tax included. If you are up for hotdogs and hambugers after a full day of shopping, there is the "Dug Out" just next door to the motel (towards Central Valley). If you are up to a short drive (less than 5 mins), there is a chinese takeaway (it has 5 tables) called "Great Wall" which serves the usual take out stuff. Cheaper and tastier than the food court at the outlet (ridiculous prices). Not fancy but not too shabby either. The Mobil station between the motel and the outlet has cheaper gas than the Esso across the I87 so take note! Oh yeah - look out for the "honeymoon suite" picture advertised at the reception area - unreal! read more

The room was generally very dirty. It seemed like the room has never been deep cleaned in YEARS. Dusting/cleaning was done only in the plain sight, never behind the TV or a lamp. The carpet was dirty and I didn't dare to take my shoes off. The bedding was also old, was not comfortable, and felt dirty so I even slept unshowered because I didn't want to dirty myself up after cleaning. Stayed here for a night for early outlet shopping but would not stay here again even if I go back next time. Staff were borderline rude/indifferent/unwelcoming. Literally the only good thing in the area is the Woodbury Common outlet. Would NOT recommend. read more

The room was clean (except for the stray spider or two that decided to camp out with us), everything was comfortable, and it was conveniently located right in the middle of everything we could possibly need while we were there. Why am I not giving this place a better rating? Because the morning that my guy and I were supposed to check out, two people who work there, a man and a woman (I believe they might have been the owners) WALKED INTO OUR ROOM WITHOUT KNOCKING while we were packing to ask us if we were checking out (we had the "Do Not Disturb" sign up on the door and everything). DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY (ROOM 116) Every surface looked like it was sprayed and wiped down with MILK. Floors had not been vacuumed. Lingering smell of previous smokers made the room stink bad. Desk had food crumbs dried and crusted stuck to surface. (?) HUMAN FLUID STAIN on bed cover. Pillows looked older than I am. Remote control was groady. Light fixtures where dusty and sticky. Bathroom seemed clean (surprisingly). Flooring is sinking and broken at bathroom entrance. Slept in my winter coat with gloves and socks ON TOP of second sheet. Did NOT sleep under covers, but my coat was warm enough. Didn't want my bare skin to touch any of the bedding. Slept with lights on just in case potential bugs wanted to crawl onto the bed by dark of night. Better to sleep in your car at a Walmart parking lot. Americas Best Value is Americas Grossest Hotel Stay. To management : please shut this place down and rebuild your rooms from top to bottom. I've stayed at different ABVI locations a few times and this one is the nicest one. I came here on a random night after hanging around the Palisades which isn't too far away. We discovered that the outlet is like a block or two away which was awesome if we were gonna shop. Our stay was really cheap. No more than $65. The room was clean, had a fridge and microwave, was comfy and neat, had a good amount of space. The staff up front was nice. Ample parking. Would stay here again, great for the price. read more

BED BUG ALERT! BED BUG ALERT! I checked in yesterday, August 21, and like I do in all hotels, checked the bed for bugs and found one, immediately. I went back to reception immediately and told them I needed a full refund, which they granted. The attendant did not seem surprised or concerned when I told him about the bedbugs. My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night after visiting the Renaissance Faire. I would never, ever stay here again. The room was not clean and the bathroom had mold. After a particularly cold and rainy September day at the Faire all I wanted was a nice hot shower and a clean bed; I got neither. The "continental breakfast" they had in the office where we checked out in the morning was laughable plus the office smelled like mothballs. Not appetizing. Not bad, rooms are nice and clean; staff is helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast is exactly that, nothing special. Some muffins and bread, a toaster, milk coffee and oj. It is easy to keep an eye on your car, as it is right in front if your room. Prices are a little high in my opinion but they are the lowest in that area. We visited with family at the Hampton Inn and Suites and would not pay the $50 extra to stay there. read more

Nasty nasty nasty.... I would put 0 stars if it was possible. First night I found the toilet bowl covered in urine so clearly they don't know how to clean - thought maybe it was just a one off thing. Stayed on our way back and got another urine covered toilet bowl AND dried snot on the pillowcases!!!!! I nearly vomited. Clearly they never changed the sheets. They changed our entire bedding after I called the office to complain but there's no way in hell I'd stay at this nasty dump again. Despite its outward motor-inn appearance, this place is surprisingly nice on the inside and reasonably priced. We paid about $90 for a double, including tax (reserved online and forgot to request AAA discount at checkin). Clean, recently renovated rooms with new furniture and carpet and paint (slight smell of new paint still). Quiet, convenient to outlets and Bear Mountain, with continental breakfast (though we didn't have it, so can't vouch for what it entails). read more

Felt more like a motel than a hotel. This place was outdated and depressing. I felt like I was staying in a shelter instead of budget friendly hotel. A coat of paint, new bedding and curtains would help. The room was clean. But, the hallways had a terrible smell of mold. The fitness room was the size of large closet with three machines.
