Clean, modern, spacious room and bathroom. Check-in was smooth, though the pool was closed for a few hours due to swim lessons being held. No food was available at the hotel other than a very small snack room with chips and items like that available for purchase. I believe they do offer breakfast for an additional charge, but we ate elsewhere. Once we did have access to the pool we opted to not use it due to overwhelmingly strong stinging sensation from chlorine. Overall location was good, with a Chilis and Starbucks right next door, and we had a short easy drive to Lego land the following morning. Staying overnight for two nights in Middletown, New York... My friend booked a room for me at this Marriott hotel. It was very convenient as it was about a mile and a half from the wedding venue. It had free parking and Wi-Fi. We were able to walk to a diner nearby. The room had a microwave, refrigerator, and iron with ironing board! The shower was great and the bed was comfortably! The young guy at the front desk was much nicer than the older woman - especially in regards to the goodie bags. Yes, we understand that you're following the rules - one goodie bag per room. There was one young gal at breakfast time that could be friendlier, too. She was a bit snappy as she cleared plates from our private farewell room. The food was quite good! The groom's "get ready" room had chips, sandwiches, canned sodas, and wraps while the bride's "get ready" room had fresh fruits, sausages, scrambled eggs, cereal, and mimosas... LOL! I always stay at Marriotts because I can usually count on the Marriott brand. This location was worn and needs an update. However the housekeeping staff was very friendly and did a good job. I used the tiny pool and it was nice and warm. The door was in disrepair and I cut my hand . We didn't eat any food so I can't rate the food. I will say that the outdoor space was nice and all of the employees were friendly. If I were to go to that area again I might try it again. read more

If it were not for a wedding, I am not sure I would have ever lodged at the Courtyard Middletown. The Hotel offers everything one may need if your goal is to hang out and relax in the Orange County, NY area. Their hotel is located twelve or more minutes from LEGOLAND, which could be one of the several reasons this hotel is priced higher than most courtyards I have lodged near airports. There is also the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame, Goshen Ghost Tours, and many other tourist attractions. None of these would interest me. As I stated above, I was in Middletown, Goshen, for one reason only, a wedding. The church and the reception were close by, but unfortunately, we missed the bus transportation to the reception. The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly. The Bistro was perfectly located for fresh coffee the morning after the wedding. Peaceful, easy, feels. For over the last 2 decades, Marriott quality has been consistent for me nationwide. I was able to check-in and out via smartphone app and access my virtual room key the same way. Though my room was close to the elevator, it was quiet by 8pm each day. Strong water pressure and instantly hot water make a great shower experience. The bathroom also has plenty of counter space and mirrors. In fact, a full-length mirror on the door helps for getting a closer look. Consistent amenities I appreciate include plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a powerful hairdryer, lotion, makeup remover pad, iron, mini fridge, microwave, and a coffee maker and pods. During my stay, their indoor pool and hot tub were warm, inviting, and empty- yay! Their "courtyard" has lounge chairs and other seating and is surrounded by greenery and trees (not rooms). In the lobby, this location has a "Bistro" with restaurant-quality food, liquor, and cocktails which you can enjoy there, in your room, or elsewhere. His replacement, Barbara Ann ( named after the Beach Boys song), took his place and provided great customer service. Previous room I stayed in was in better shape. I loved my stay here! The front desk staff during both the night and day shifts were extremely friendly and helpful. The lobby area has a bar that's open till 9pm and multiple lounge areas with tables, couches, and high tops, as well as one area with an electronic fire place. They were short on toiletries but there's a Target right across the parking lot if you need anything. Bathrooms were clean, towels solid. The water pressure and temperature was phenomenal, and a chilly night the heat kept me nice and toasty. The bed and pillows were also comfortable, tending towards soft both with good support. I even thought the lighting in the room was nice, very warm and cozy. Microwave, mini fridge, iron, hair dryer all in room. Lots of outlets. They also had an indoor pool which was lovely. The pool itself is not heated, but the room is fairly warm with clean lounge chairs and tables. While they do have a hot tub as well I've been told it does require regular maintenance and isn't always available. Hours are also great, it's open from 6am-11pm. The hotel had four weddings going on this weekend- we were attending one - and the staff did a terrific job handling everyone's needs- from gift bags at check-in to snacks, busses, drinks and after-party celebrations. This hotel sports not only the standard Starbucks breakfast and coffee experience, but a full menu for breakfast and a post 5pm menu that looked great if you kept it simple (burgers, pastas, sandwiches). There are two full bars in the large lobby, beer and wine. The room was clean and updated, a bit tight on one side of the bed, with a bright and clean bathroom. I haven't stayed at this location for many years and was very surprised at how much better it looked as soon as I arrived. Clearly, it was renovated recently and it makes a HUGE difference from my previous experiences. Check-in was a little weird...there were 4 people behind the counter and one of them might have been in training. One person started the check in while the other hovered and watched closely...wasn't sure if it was a manager observing or, like I mentioned, a newbie. Anyway, they were all friendly enough but the "hovering" one ultimately gave me my key and told me my room number. Out loud. Sorry - but that's a no-no in the hospitality biz. Sure - say the floor and perhaps point out the elevators and ask if I'm familiar with the other amenities...but there wasn't any of that. Just someone saying my room number for anyone else to hear. Not good. OK - on to the room. I was pleasantly surprised that I was upgraded to a suite - so that was awesome. Again - there were recent upgrades so the room seemed (and was) very clean. Only issue was that the air conditioner in the bedroom was not working properly. I didn't report it but I managed to keep the room cool by using the one in the living room at a "meat locker" setting...and keeping the bedroom door open. Anyway, I'd still stay here again. The new lobby area is very nice and open...just make sure the front desk folks are trained properly. read more

Came here for a repass reception for me my friend. Upon entering the lobby is very spacious and clean. The reception was held in one of the smaller conference rooms. We had the opportunity to use the back courtyard which has a lovely gazebo along with a fire pit. The hotel appeared clean with social distancing and masks required. read more

We stayed at this hotel recently while handling some family business in Pine Bush. DO NOT stay at this hotel!! The place was in decent condition, and clean, but the staff has NO control over what goes on in the hotel. When we stayed, there was a wedding party staying in the hotel, along with little league teams, and people from a car show. They were constantly running up and down the halls screaming (literally) obscenities, and just screaming in general. Complaints to the front desk yielded only a "there's nothing we can do about it". Even parking in the lot was impossible due to the large number of huge trucks parked every which way. I am a Gold with Marriott, and the hotel made absolutely NO effort to make this stay "right". In exchange for putting up with the screaming, yelling, fighting, noise, parking problems, and every other problem, what did they "do" for me? Theoretically, they "gave" me an extra 500 Marriott points. I say "theoretically" because the points never showed up on my account. Without any doubt, this is the worst Marriott property I have EVER stayed at, and it was the worst experience I've ever had in a Marriott property. Don't make the same mistake I did - stay somewhere else. If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. read more

Please note I would only use this forum as a last resort. I had no WiFi while at this hotel Jan 8th & 9th of 2018. The first night I entered the room number and name it looked like it was going to work...but I got the message that there is an issue so call front desk (see attached photo) I call and they said they were having issues but they were aware and would call me as soon as it was resolved. I got a call a few minutes later and was told the WiFi had been reset and was now workng. It never worked and I had to use my personal hotspot for service. Months have past and not a response from Marriott or the location. I have switched hotels and no issues. I do find it odd that the location cares so little about the customers they serve. read more

This place is so nasty you probably wanna stay at like one of those motels. The place is falling apart. The AC unit is leaking with black mold going through the wall in the carpet is soaking wet and it seems like it's been like this for a long time, the furniture is so rundown it stinks and there's dirty stains everywhere, there's bugs on the carpet in my skin. I think there's fleas because I have bites all over my body. The refrigerators broken does not work. There's a hole in the wall and the lady at the front desk. She treats this place like she owns it. I got upset that there was construction and I told them that they should've told me that and she proceeded to tell me well that's not my job it kinda is, you're supposed to inform somebody that there's construction going on anyway she didn't like that. I said that I'm going to be speaking with the manager I would never stay at this place ever again the lady at the front desk the really skinny one the frail one she needs customer service training, she got mad and told me you're not allowed to stay here anymore all because I told her it's your job to tell me I really want to speak to a manager because if the manager knew what she told me she should be in trouble over $1100 to stay here And she's that mad. It's not her discretion to tell people to leave all because she got mad. Obviously she has issues she got that triggered anyway just try to find a different place because you won't be satisfied. I've stayed at this hotel several times for business trips and have not had a bad experience yet. It's clean, the front desk staff is great and they have always been accommodating. The bartender, Juan, is fantastic and friendly and remembers previous customers which is always a plus. If I was to complain about anything, it would be the girl that is at the bistro in the morning never smiles and seems like she's in a bad mood all the time and there's no place to get lunch. There is, however, an Islands and an Outback next door so that problem is solved. read more

So you want to go visit your inlaw's but there is a global pandemic going on. You really like the beer and wine scene up in Orange County and the thought of a DWI bums you out*. What can you do? Stay at hotel of course. Honestly, I'm not sure if its the fact that I've had to cancel 5 or 6 trips this year, or if it was just the fact that it was a new space, but I loved my time at this little hotel off the highway. For real, I miss traveling, as I'm sure all of us do, and just being in a hotel made me incredibly happy. This courtyard has been recently renovated and has a nice enough lobby when you walk in..and the overwhelming smell of chlorine to remind you that they have a pool**. As I like water that neutralizes kid pee (we know what you're doing in there, Timmy), this did not bother me in the least, but I get how it could bothersome. They also have a bar/restaurant that is very much in COVID mode. Read; social distancing, limited staff, limited menu. They have bottles of wine decently late at night, and the breakfast sandwich isn't bad at all, but god help me I miss a crappy continental breakfast. This place is also conveniently located next to an outback steak house, which made me so much happier than it should have (and made my heart cry a little). The bed was nice and comfortable, the AC made the room cold, and the blackout curtain kept the room dark enough to let me sleep off that aforementioned bottle of wine we probably shouldn't have split. All in all, this place has warm, welcoming staff, and is located off a few major highways that easily access NYC and Jersey. We have stayed at this Courtyard by Marriott several times and at another location just 4 weeks ago and what a difference. The Courtyard by Marriott in GA was clean smelling including sheets and towels, looked cared for and was all around very nice. The Courtyard by Marriott on Crystal Run Crossing was a total disappointment! It didn't smell clean at all. The sheets didn't fit the bed and seemed of poor quality, the alarm clock looked like someone had tried to smash it, hallways smelled, one elevator was down the whole time we were there, the air conditioning unit was noisy and barely worked, and one curtain wasn't attached all the way. All in all a very disappointing stay. And please don't say it's due to lack of employees, there were plenty of them at all times. read more

First I want to start this review off with. The only reason it's getting a Star or a review. Is because two helpful employees. When my family and I arrived. They had our reservations incorrect and gave us the wrong room. After that the general manager name Kent/Brent. Offered to upgrade our stay for the inconvenience. Told me there will be two connecting rooms and handed me 4 room keys, two for each. The next day we get a knock on one of the doors. A bill was put under the door and they thought we were checking out? when in fact we are booked for another 3 days. I brought the bill downstairs and the lady at the desk said "our mistake don't worry about it" ok thanks. Then I found a wasp in my room and all the windows have screens on them. What if I was allergic and I got stung? this hotel would be getting sued without question right? After that it only got worse and worse. The maid service was terrible from the time they kept thinking we were checking out. To not refreshing towels. And not giving us extra pillows etc as we requested. It simply just never came, even when they said "it's on it's way". Moving onto the last day. I go to the front desk to check out. And find that they charged me for BOTH rooms. Ok I thought, that can't be right it's just a mistake. They call they manager over and he starts arguing with me in front of other customers. Saying "that was not our conversation sir. I gave you both rooms and charged them" Well the conversation was more like "I'm sorry sir. Here's connecting rooms for the inconvenience" After arguing for at least 10-15 minutes. He eventually said "I'll take one night off" At this point I said fine. And I then left and called Courtyard Marriot customer service hotline to complain about the extremely poor service I got. They were no help. Sided with their "prized" general manager who also looked like he was on drugs. Always sweating with blood shot eyes. I can go on and on how terrible this hotel was. But I won't. I just want you all to know that this place is absolutely terrible. And until they get a new manager I fear it'll stay this way. read more

We lost power Thursday night (February 25, 2010) in my area because of a snow storm, we were forced to leave our home and spend the weekend at the Courtyard by Marriott. The hotel wasn't our first choice, but due to so many people losing power all the hotels in the immediate area were booked and the only reason this one had vacancies was because the highway was closed for 15 hours and nobody could get to Middletown from our area. Thanks God they finally opened the I84 and we were able to get to it before people realized it was open once again. Let see, because of the amount of snow the parking lot was not clean enough for all the cars that were arriving so we had to park on the side of the hotel, and that's just about the only thing to complain about. The room was big and comfortable, I loved the Microwave and fridge in the room they came handy specially with two small kids and the restaurants in the area are very convenient. They also have breakfast for $12 per person, not worth it in my opinion. The hotel is worth the $119 a night the room had a king size bed with a sofa bed (very convenient); the Gym was good enough for my workout needs and the pool was a great place for my 5yrs old to kill time and burn some energy. One of the best Hotel experience's I have ever had. Unfortunately I was in town for a funeral service, that stated at 1 pm. With normal check in at 3 pm, the staff got me in to a beautiful room at 10 am. Complete with bottled water and snacks. They made sure I was taken care of during a difficult visit The room itself was very spacious, modern furniture and technology with a comfortable king size bed. I stayed at 3 Marriotts while in NY and this was the least favorite. It's in a great location where there are 2 other hotels, a diner and a gas station and right off the freeway. It's also a popular place for wedding guests attending weddings in the area (there were 4 parties this past weekend) to get shuttles to receptions. We were able to check in early on the app, so that is a plus and got the room type we wanted. Easy, free parking in the lot and there are luggage carts for us to grab and put our luggage on to take to the room. This hotel seems to be recently updated/upgraded and you could tell. The hallways had new carpets and the rooms had a different color scheme than previous courtyards. But the doors still had the slot key lock and the furniture in the room was mixed. Our king room was great and we had a very quiet stay. There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room which was great. We gave up housekeeping to get rewards points instead so cannot comment on the service to the room. The bed was okay in comfort and the pillows could have been better. No free breakfast as others have said. The bistro on site has some nice healthy options but not too many. I chose the classic yogurt berry box and my husband had a breakfast sandwich. Both were good and filling. We were also able to have dinner for the rehearsal in the private room. Service was good there but the food was not the best. Tip--don't get the salmon unless you like dry fish. I didn't find it an amazing stay but not a bad one either so it gets 3 stars. Checking out required us to drop off our room keys in addition to telling the staff member that we were checking out. read more

Miserable staff! The hotel location cation is perfectly fine as I arrived for a work meeting. My fight way delayed so after an 8 hour trip I arrived at 9.40 hungry and tired. The receptionist couldn't find my reservation and was so miserable and in welcoming it was unpleasant. I asked about getting something to eat to be told the kitchen just closed. There was no suggestion to try to help get something last minute and was pointed to a restaurant - outback across the parking lot. When I got there it was also closed. Why did she tell me to go if it was obvious it was closed? Same greeting at breakfast, no smile and so miserable and unwelcoming. I stayed here for my friend's wedding. Overall this Marriott was very nice - the environment was very welcoming and the staff was friendly. The entire hotel has a warm color scheme to it - very refreshing. The lobby is pretty spacious, it seemed however to be taken up mostly by tables and chairs as a means of seating for their food offerings. Their main eatery is called The Bistro - they serve a number of breakfast and lunch dishes. They also boast a Starbucks thats open 24 hours, but in reality the hotel just serves Starbucks products (you can't use your Starbucks card to pay for stuff). It's your typical average chain hotel but everything was clean and the staff was friendly - overall I had a pleasant stay. read more

Pros : We had a double queen room . It was spacious and clean . The beds were amazingly comfortable with extra pillows . Loved the beds . The shower stayed hot and had great water pressure. The hotel ambiance was nice and the halls were well lit . Cons: the mini fridge is in a cabinet . If the cabinet door is closed then the frig gets hot . We had brought salads for lunch the next day and they got hot overnight in the frig . We lost our lunch. They didn't mention this when we checked in . We didn't see aloe if employees except for the front desk . They weren't overly friendly or helpful but nor were they rude or in helpful - more like a non factor. We always stay at Marriott when we travel. Always. The bed at this location, how to say it nicely...sucked. The staff was nice and very accommodating and made us feel special with gold elite status, but if you can't get a good night's sleep then it's all for not. I've had 13 surgeries on my back and usually sleep like a BABY on any Marriott bed and pillows, waking up in the exact same spot I fell asleep in. I've left many other Marriott reviews bcuz the mattress is just that important to me. I was up too many times to count tossing from one side to another which led to hubs not sleeping well either. I did not check the reviews for this specific location ahead of time bcuz it is a Courtyard and so is supposed to be higher on the list of quality, but many other reviews also mention issues with the bed/mattress. How many reviews will it take for this franchisee to reinvest in new mattresses? The Starbucks breakfast before we hit the road was good even tho the white girl behind the counter needs to work on her hospitality skills. Would not stay at this location again until they replace their mattresses. 2 stars bcuz the check-in and out staff were great and the rooms were clean and otherwise of Marriott quality. read more

The lobby area is very nice, the staff is attentive and also very nice. The rooms are nicely appointed but no thermostat?? I have stayed in every Marriott surrounding this one within 2 hours of which all seemed slightly better than this one, even counting older Marriotts like the one in Fishkill. The beds are not so comfortable but the sheets are very nice. I like the bathrooms are equipped with fans so when you get out of the shower its not so steamy. The location is perfect. Situated in between two other hotels you have your options of outback steak house, TGI Fridays, and a local place Soho Grill I believe it is called. Your also a 2-5 minute drive away from the local mall which is fairly large. A little pricier than other Marriotts in a 2 hour radius but the location slightly makes up for the price. read more

The bistro service, however, was slow due to inexperienced staff and the configuration of the serving counter which requires counter staff to run down and around the end of the long counter to bring you your order.
