Jennifer Graham at your Opelika office was most frustrating to deal with. Her method of communicating is via e-mail. I understand, but occasionally circumstances warrant a phone conversation. I was still in Colorado and needed to have two or three phone conversations with her. She was elusive (beyond e-mails) and I felt sorry for the receptionist because she knew my voice and graciously left messages with Jennifer that I had called. I still believe that in today's world, he or she who understands customer service will ultimately dominate. Communicating with your Opelika office beyond e-mails was most frustrating and substandard (in my opinion). In the last 18 months, I've sold a farm in Nebraska, sold a home in Colorado, bought your Stone Martin home in Auburn, dealt with appraisers, county assessors, attorneys, realtors, title companies, you name it! Jennifer was the least most accessible individual I dealt with, unless it was via e-mail. I think Stone Martin is a good builder and am quite pleased with my new home. I've got the usual warranty issues (just a few, nothing major), as to be expected. Anthony, Robert and Robin have helped me with these and must be acknowledged! Every new home they build there is deceit. They use triple thin flat paint with no primer over…read moreevery inside wall. You think it looks nice? That's what they want you to think. Every accidental scuff, sticker, even painters tape takes the sheetrock off leaving cardboard. I've never had this anywhere. So if you decide to go with them for your home build know that this is thousands of dollars of deceit. They know it's unfixable. Think twice. What else are they deceiving us on?

My husband and I thought we were in business with the best company for building homes in Georgia. It started off great but in hindsight I realized it was because of our realtor Heather Williams. Now that we have been living in our home for only 6 months we have experienced so many things going wrong with the home. First the outlet to my daughter's bedroom went out and when they came to fix it said it was just a loose wire. Why would there be a loose wire unless it wasn't connected correctly in the beginning. Second, we have realized that flies are getting into our stove vent. Haven't figured out how that happened but realize that other homes with our type of kitchen have the same problem. Third,, our air conditioner is malfunctioning. Lastly, our dishwasher that came with the house didnt work from day one. They sent someone out to fix it and after they left we realized that it still was not working. So, my husband decided to buy the part and fix it himself because waiting for them to come took forever. And that was after, it took forever trying to get somebody to help us. I think it is because they are building the home so quickly that they are not taking pride in their work or stamping these homes with excellence. It is disheartening, upsetting, and just sad.

We ended up getting our property marked; When it was marked we had a huge pile of garbage on our land (dirt/building materials/ and old electrical box). Along with about 15x20 feet that never got sod, yet we payed extra for the land. What we were told BEFORE we closed was that the super intendant up and quit and so did the landscaper so they were in the process of doing the rest of it and never got to it/however we were unaware. So Rick told us (Before we closed)Rick had before we signed any paperwork that Houghston Homes would replace the grass (separate 6x50). Ashley stated they wouldn't replace it due to it not being covered even tho Rick had mentioned it in front of maintenance and our realtor who left us. Next time landscapers came to install the sod in the neighbors house they took the dead grass out without my knowledge but never replaced what they took out. To this day the best Houghston Homes could do was a small bag of seed. We currently have 21x70 of our land that should've had sod layed. This is sad because landscapers just toss the extra wherever the hell they want if they have extra.
