    Stone Martin Builders Corporate Office

I called their corporate office for the 4th time yesterday requesting that someone call me…read moreregarding their Town Madison community.  (Which I live in) I've spoken to Madeline (at their office in Opelika) on four different occasions requesting that someone from Stone Martin call me.  To date I have not heard from anybody. Below are neighborhood issues: - Runoff/stormwater drains being blocked (No silt fencing on any of your lots) - Streets are a mess - "sweeper" is no longer running in the neighborhood - Lots are a complete mess - See Pics - My lot has had continuous issues with your trades using my water and power after we moved in/closed - Mud being tracked all over my property by your trades (see pics) - Lack of communication on unfinished lots and estimated completion dates (we were told that they would be completed by  May/June when we signed a contract on December 11, 2021...BTW-  Lot's 16-19 were all "dried in" at that time) - General condition of Stone Martin lots  - Lack of Trade Management and accountability

We have had the worst experience with STONE MARTIN. The worst with your company. This is our second…read morehome we've had built and this by far is the worst company to work with. We have a swamp in the back yard and they basically refuse to fix the issue. They repeatedly had us walk the plot to make sure the land was what we wanted. The land was flat and had zero drainage issues. We came in rain, sun, and other weather conditions. The land was fine. Once the home was built our yard was not flat. It was sloped and can not be used. When it rains a river is in the back yard and NEVER drains. It will lower but never goes away. We placed our fence 12 feet above property line to avoid water and it still rises into the middle of the yard. The standing water has caused snakes, bugs and other creatures to come into the property. It's a health hazard. We in turn have drain flies in our house in the 100s everyday. Stone Martin told me to get a fly strip. I've hired and fired 3 pest companies only to learn it's the landscape and home builder. There landscapers also didn't sod the front yard and only did half. They planted buses that died. Upon digging the bushes up there was rock and trash all in the ground. We've spent hundreds trying to correct all the problems they won't and still have many issues. Corporate will not respond to us. The warranty company says they will get around to it and we've had appointments and no one has showed up. The warranty company is at a loss of what to do. I would never build with Stone Martin again. I should've went with another home builder. The homes in this neighborhood are on flat land with great landscaping. I'm sure they haven't had to repay for issues the company didn't and won't fix. It's a shame to have these issues in a 400k plus home. Ridiculous!! All of this was stated before closing and they stated it would all be fixed and corrected. Our next step will be a lawyer. Edit:: We've spent 1000s correcting bug, landscaping, and buying new bushes. It's still not totally fixed. We are a military family and my husband is a disabled veteran. Due to them not fixing the issues we've both been in the yard for hours on end. In no way should he be treated so unfairly. This was suppose to be our forever home.

Buyer Beware: Our Nightmare Experience with Hughston Homes in Augusta, GA…read more This has been, without question, the worst experience we've ever had in purchasing a home and this is our third new home build. Hughston Homes has proven to be completely disorganized, unprofessional, and careless from the top down. If you're considering building with them, I urge you to read this entire review and think twice before moving forward. 1. Missed Deadlines and Poor Communication From the beginning, nothing was done on time. Communication was chaotic and uncoordinated at every stage. We had to delay closing multiple times due to inconsistencies and a complete lack of accountability. Whenever we voiced concerns, we were told to "trust the process" only to be disappointed again and again. 2. Drainage Disaster Covered Up Throughout the build, we noticed the left side of the yard was constantly wet. We were told it was "just disturbed ground" and would clear up. In reality, water was streaming from a neighboring property. Their solution? Cover it up with drainage rocks. When we kept pushing the issue, they eventually hired a cheap landscaping company that did a horrible job and water was pooling horrifically around the driveway. Out of frustration, we hired the French Drain Specialist (Excellent by the way). His words: "This is the worst French drain I've ever seen." He installed a proper drainage system that finally resolved the issue. When we asked Hughston Homes for reimbursement, they refused, saying we should have "given them the chance to fix it." But after months of failed attempts and poor work, our trust was gone. 3. Concrete Catastrophe After closing, they were supposed to come back to pressure wash the red clay off the driveway and porch. When they did, a piece of wood embedded in the porch concrete was revealed. Instead of owning the mistake, a worker (Mr. Tony) yanked the wood out, causing a long crack to the foundation. He filled the hole with mismatched concrete, leaving a very noticeable and unattractive blemish. We escalated the issue to the warranty manager, Carl, who dismissed it, stating it was "normal" and "the color will fade." He even belittled his own employee in front of us, saying Mr. Tony was "just a worker bee." How were we supposed to know the hierarchy of their internal operations? Attempts to contact Carl again were blocked by a customer care rep named Chauncey, who informed me via email that "Carl cannot call you" and that the issue was considered resolved. Meanwhile, our neighbors' porches have no cracks or concrete issues at all. 4. Unacceptable Construction Quality We were forced to come to the property daily to oversee the build ourselves. They were painting our home the wrong color until we caught the error. Their response? They banned us from the property for holding them accountable. It doesn't end there: * Appliances were scratched. * Floors were not protected; red clay was tracked throughout the house. * Windows were installed slanted. * Concrete blemishes, rushed work, and a general lack of care were evident everywhere. This company claims to build "quality homes," but our experience says otherwise. For the price hardworking families pay, there should be far more attention to detail, honesty, and accountability. We spent over $10,000 of our own money fixing issues that Hughston Homes either caused or refused to resolve. DO NOT BUY a Hughston Home. If we hadn't stayed vigilant, things would've been far worse. Unfortunately, our voices were treated as a nuisance rather than valued input from paying customers.Avoid Hughston Homes at all costs. We hope our review helps prevent others from falling victim to this disorganized and careless builder.

Thinking of building with Hughston Homes? Let me save you the suspense:…read more* House painted the wrong color? Check. * Doors that don't close? Fixtures installed crooked? Check and check. * Scratched appliances, chipped fans, stained tile floors--because apparently drop cloths and basic care weren't part of the build plan? Of course. * Sloppy tile work, messy paint jobs, and uneven finishes? You bet. * A cracked concrete slab caused by a lodged piece of wood they left behind? Naturally. * And the best part? A hidden underground water issue they tried to cover with boulders. Their solution? A poorly installed French drain that didn't touch the actual problem. No heads-up, no explanation just surprise yard surgery. We ended up paying over $10,000 out of pocket to fix it properly. Thank GOD we had our own realtor--NOT associated with Hughston Homes--because his knowledge was the only reason we didn't end up completely up a creek (or underwater, literally). Without him, we would've been in real trouble. Add to that agents who never followed through, a building crew that felt like they were learning on the job, and communication so broken it felt like a scavenger hunt just to get answers... yeah, it's been a journey. We gave them multiple chances. We stayed patient. We documented everything. And still? We were left cleaning up the mess--literally and financially. So if you're into stress, guesswork, and throwing thousands at fixes before your first mortgage payment clears Hughston might be perfect for you. NOTHING WILL BE DONE CORRECTLY THE 1st, OR 2nd time they MAY do a half job on the 3rd or 4th, if at all. Her are a few pictures doesn't even touch the hundreds I have! Some pictures are pain points that got resolved after a lot of back and forth but should have not occurred had quality work been done, some items remain unresolved For everyone else: ask questions, bring your own realtor, and document everything. You'll thank yourself later
