I went on a 4 day/3 night Yoga retreat in Hells Canyon with ARC and Yoga Inbody. The experience was unforgettable! The ARC guides and Elizabeth from Yoga Inbody provided an outfitted river trip that met all the check-boxes and more. From safety and comfort both on and off the river, to a level of customer service that you will be surprised to find in the wilds of Idaho/Oregon. All the guides had something special to offer the guests, from Bryce's dad jokes, Jeff's concierge service upon arriving at camp each afternoon, to Kevin's amazing meals. Keenan was an attentive and skilled oarsman and ensured that our trip down the river was safe and exciting. He was very in tune to what his passengers were feeling each day with respect to our desires to stay dry or to get splashed, etc. Jarrett could show many in corporate America what leadership should look like. I really enjoyed observing him engage with his staff and his guests. He is a kind, engaging and thoughtful leader. What to say about Elizabeth and the yoga retreat aspect of the trip??? There are no words that can accurately describe the vibrant and pure joy that emanates from Elizabeth. She is simply called to teach love, through yoga. You cannot be unaffected by her positivity and outlook on life. You will leave the river, grounded, refreshed, reconnected and peaceful. In fact, if you are like me, you will actually not want to leave at all. I do not have any photos to share from the trip, as I took ARC's pre-trip advice to heart and didn't bring my phone. I didn't even bring along a camera or a watch. Leaving the technology behind was incredibly helpful in speeding up my adaptation to "river time". Plus, ARC has a media team, if you will, with their guides. So all my memories from the trip were captured in a couple media formats and available post trip to all guests. It's just an example of how ARC's product is designed with the guests in mind to ensure they feel the return on their investment of time and money exceeds expectations. I want to preface my review by saying that I am a high maintenance individual. One of the things I like the least is the heat of the summer. My wife on the other hand, is much more easy-going than I am. We, along with 8 friends, decided to do a five day whitewater rafting trip with America's Rafting Company in August 2019. I have to say I was very skeptical that I would enjoy it based on the fact that it was going to be very hot every day. It did turn out to be quite hot. But I have to say, Lauren, Jared, Nick, Bryce and Aidan did such an amazing job, I didn't worry about the heat all that often. Believe it or not, one of the highlights of the entire trip was the food. You would think there wouldn't be such good food considering they have to set everything up and break everything down each day at camp. They had steaks and wraps and different kinds of eggs and chicken and all kinds of things. Each meal was different, absolutely delicious, and they always had ice cold beverages regardless of how hot it was outside. The scenery along the snake River was to die for. High canyon walls, great swimming and the occasional bighorn sheep sighting. The rapids were super fun and the water temperature was perfect. I am super impressed with the way they set everything up and broke everything down and accommodate your needs no matter what the situation. The owners, Jared and Lauren, are both extremely professional and very friendly. Lauren spends time during the off-season making batches of cookie dough that she keeps in the freezer until she makes them for each trip. They are some of the best cookies I've ever had in my life. I could go on all day talking up America's Rafting Company. If someone like me, high maintenance person, can walk away feeling like it was an amazing experience, imagine how much fun you would have. read more

I chose America's Rafting Company to help me celebrate my 30th birthday and It was the best decision I could have ever made! With a crew of 12 and many our first time on an overnight white water trip Jarrett, Lauren, Bryce and Evan made our trip absolutely unforgettable. The canyon is breath taking and within the first few hours we saw a bear and her cub right on the side of the river, they guided us safely close to them to observe and take photos. All the guides are able to tell you so much history and interesting facts about everything and anything you ask. I'm not a fisherman however, those on the trip that were, were in absolute heaven. Every time I turned around someone had a fish on the line and a huge grin on their face. Lunch was just the start of a camping culinary experience unlike I've ever had. Everything delicious, homemade and well thought out. So impressive! They also plan to stop places where you are able to take short walks to canyon homesteads. It's a great way to stretch the legs and see more of the canyon by foot. Once we pulled into camp for the night everything was set up for us! I felt so spoiled! They had plenty of wine beer and margaritas! Dinner was out of this world both nights and they even made me a dutch oven carrot cake for my birthday! Jarrett and Lauren are two of the most thoughtful and hard working people I've ever met and I feel lucky to have experienced this with them and their company. I would say it's a once in a lifetime trip for me, but I know will definitely be doing this again. No doubt about it. read more

Wow! What an experience! From the package purchase right through to the bus ride home and everthing in between. This trip has everything that will satisfy your desire for a white water rafting/swimming/learning/hiking/camping adventure. The ARC is very respectful and courteous of its guests and treated each of us with the care and consideration that exceeded our expectations. They inform and equip you with everything you need to have in preparation for the trip and in a timely manner. Transportation to and from the river/canyons was well coordinated and safe, yet expeditious and mindful of the need to make rest and pit stops. The raft captains are very capable and flexible; never failing to educate, entertain, inform and innovative. There was plently of opportunities paddle, row or simply laze on the rafts. Given that, in addition to all the other duties they perform (cooking, camp set-up/tear-down, nursing, hosting, protecting guests from extreme elements etc.) they row several hours a day! It would be easy to expect a break-down in quality od service occasionally - NOT SO!! I could not rate this team any less than 6 stars out of five. The food was not only served in a timely manner, it was always absolutely AWESOME and totally delicious. The meals were always well balanced between healthy, adventurously decadent and devishly delightful. What more can I say ...? Now I know why God told Noah to "build and "ARC' ..."! read more

Wow! Just Wow! These folks know how to put on a trip! The rafting guides cater to you on and off the river. I was a little nervous about the big rapids before we started but the boats were super stable and my fears quickly went away. I looked forward to as many class 3 and 4 rapids as possible. These guides know the river and they know how to raft it safely. On the river, we got to see a mama cinnamon black bear with her cub on the shore. The guide paddled us to within probably 20' from them and they pair didn't seem to mind at all. They just kept on keepin' on. It was amazing! The fishing was ridiculos! If you can't catch fish in this river then find a new hobby. It's like fishing in the aquarium at Cabela's! Only with WAY better scenery! We also got tours of homesteads of the first settlers in the canyon. The guides know the history and the stories of the area. Camp life was surprisingly comfortable! I was worried about sleeping on the ground. At 45yo and 310lbs, I'm too old and fat for that. But their pads were more comfortable than a few hotels I've slept in. And the food! Oh the food! 5 star in any restaurant! Not exaggerating! It's obvious that the ownership has a background in catering. And there's plenty of beer, wine and cocktails too! This was by far the best rafting trip I've ever been on and will always go back to them! I can't wait to do it again and next time I'm taking my daughter! read more

We recently went on an amazing river rafting journey through the majestic Hells Canyon --it was an adventure like no other! From start to finish, America's Rafting Company exceeded all expectations, leaving us with memories that will last a lifetime. Our guides- Jarrett, Bob, Aly, Logan, Charlie, and Ty were awesome. They were not only skilled at navigating the rapids and river but also incredibly fun to be around. They shared fascinating stories about the canyon, wildlife, and local history. Oh, and some of us even got impromptu rowing lessons. (Note to self: Rowing is harder than it looks.) Now, let's talk food. Brace yourself for food envy. We just got back from a 4 day, 3 night Hells Canyon River tour with America's Rafting Company. We enjoyed every aspect of our trip from the very beginning. They were conscious and responsive of our every need. There was not one time where we felt unsafe or uncared for - always safety first! Now about the tour, we traveled about 35 miles of river, with class 2, 3 and 4 rapids. The guides were incredible at reading the water and making sure we had a great time. We fished and all of us caught trout and bass - so many, we lost count:-) The best part was, they took the fish off the hook for us and released them back into the water. There was so much patience for us fishing "newbies" and they were always there to help us untangle our line if need be. I guarantee there is not another company out there who will have the quality of food that we ate during the entire trip. All of the food is farm to table, home made salads, fresh breads, eggs benedict (seriously)!!! Special dietary requests, not a problem. Just got back from a 4 day, 3 night rafting trip down the snake river and can't rave enough about the whole experience. Lauren, our guide and chef, made sure everyone on the raft got the type of experience they wanted, either a more steady ride, or, for the more adventurous, a more adrenaline rich one. At our camps she and the rest of the amazing crew would cook up amazing lunches and dinners which included a quinoa, bean and pepper salad, sweet potato and lentil salad, steak, fried bass, peaches and cream with shorbread, chocolate zucchini cake and other awesome foods. Drinks and snacks were always available. Each campsite was a different version of paradise, a beach with different configurations of rocks, cliffs, trees and sometimes wildlife (a herd of 12 bighorned sheep came for a visit in one). The rest of the crew were helpful, friendly and also simply great to hang around with. We learned so much about the geology and history of the area and bonded with the other guests. We hiked, fished, swam, jumped off cliffs and just had an absolute joy of a time. The scenery was beautiful, the rafting delightful and the trip as a whole was absolutely amazing. read more

Lauren and Jarrett are the most amazing people and provide a luxury trip on the Snake River! Bryce was the other guide and he was so funny! The Hell's Canyon trip is perfect! Amazing Snake River with experienced guides! I felt safe at all times and looked forward to the rapids I had worried about before going! My boyfriend caught over 100 fish and was in heaven! The food was so amazing with appetizers, cocktails, grilled chicken and steaks and homemade bread and eggs benedict and jams and fresh coffees, and served up around the camp fire! The tents were set up and sleeping was comfy for even old folks like us! The "groover" was a creature comfort I did not expect to be so easy! The history of the area and the power of the river will amaze you! We saw bighorn sheep and deer and beaver and eagles and I went on this trip with a torn meniscus walking on a cane and had a blast! Over the top! My teen aged granddaughter and I took a 4 day/3 night trip through Hell's Canyon with America's Rafting Company--the trip of a life time. Excellent from beginning to end. The canyon is gorgeous, full of history and fabulous water. This canyon is famous for the rapids and they do NOT disappoint. Jarrett, co-owner with his super chef wife, Lauren, knows and loves this river, allowing all to feel safe and comfortable on the big water. Enough that, my grand and I took a double kayak through some serious rapids with confidence, loving every moment. This team is the best--skillful guides, super chefs, friendly and fun! AND they do EVERYTHING--unloading/set up and break-down of camp, fabulous meals, fun cocktails and help with anything you need . I can't recommend this outfit enough. The crew is experienced, knowledgeable, entertaining, and truly dedicated to making sure every customer has a fantastic time. The food was amazing. The best backwoods gourmet I've had. You know what, scratch the backwoods. It was that good. I was especially impressed with how they were able to customize the trip for everyone. The birder had birds and nests pointed out, thrill seekers got fun whitewater, sightseers got history and local lore, geology buffs heard about rocks, fishermen pulled in dozens of bass, steelhead, and even a giant sturgeon. I just returned from a rafting trip through Hells Canyon in Idaho with America's Rafting Company. I will definitely go back next summer. It was both exhilerating and peaceful floating on Salmon River and camping comfortably on the shore. Jarret, Lauren and Aidan worked hard and cheerfully to make our trip comfortable and exciting. The food was healthy, plentiful and delicious; the tents were always set up before our arrival at night and always with views of the mountains, river and stars; we were given the opportunity to fish, jump off rocks, swim through the more mellow rapids; the only sounds were the river, birds and wind. This was the most peaceful trip I've taken in years. The beauty and peacefulness and good cheer were a perfect antidote to a busy summer. read more

I cannot say enough good things about my 5 day 4 night adventure. I have never been on a camping trip where I gained weight. You will not have your standard camping food with this crew and you definitely will not go hungry. Our guides Bryce, Ryan, Adian, and Jarrett were amazing. As far as I am concerned they went the extra mile to make sure everyone had a good time. The fishing was phenomenal. We mostly caught smallmouth bass. No shortage of fish in this river. All the fishing gear was provided. They even take the fish off the hook for you. How great is that? The short walks to homesteads were an added bonus. I cannot say enough about how accommodating and professional the team at ARC was! They truly considered every little thing. The food was amazing! Lauren's skills to provide hearty, but healthy food while on the river was impressive. The whole team made me feel very comfortable while we cruised class 4 rapids. I've never felt particularly comfortable with big river rapids, but their professionalism put me at ease. Camp every night was set up for our comfort and we felt taken care of like kings and queens. They really combine hospitality with adventure and are delightfully knowledgeable and take joy in pointing out wildlife along the way. Going on a trip with America's Rafting Company was by far one of the greatest experience I have had. ARC's staff was extremely professional, but also laid back that made me feel safe and comfortable while in the canyon. All of the staff was extremely welcoming and their hospitality was out of this world. The food was absolutely amazing, so good that I am trying to make some of the recipes in my own home! Also I was simply amazed with what all the staff did for us! We took a family trip this past summer with America's Rafting Company, and it was a trip to remember! They took care of everything and treated us well. Even though our son can't swim, I never had a doubt for our safety in the hands of their expert guides. They also accommodated our food allergies (I'm gluten free) as they cooked some pretty awesome feasts, took us on short hikes to various homesteads while sharing the history of the area, and found plenty of fresh fruit (apricots, blackberries, and figs) for us to pick and enjoy on our journey. I don't know where to start, I did the 5 day Snake River trip and didn't know what to expect but I promise it beat any expectations I could have had. We caught so many fish including a 6'+ white sturgeon, I was educated on every part of the river system and surrounding areas as well as the rich history which was way cooler than I would have expected. The campsites were so awesome, each unique in its own way. The service and food was amazing and those sleeping pads are sooo comfy! Second year in a row rafting the Snake river with Jarrett, both amazing trips. Have seen every animal from Bears, to big horn sheep and multiple bald eagles. Fishing is amazing and the food is top notch. The guides are extremely knowledgeable on the history of the canyon and in keeping everyone entertained on and off the rafts.
