I contacted Ameri-Gas on 1/2/23. They said I would have a delivery by 1/9/23. They never came! I called today 1/10/23. They said they didn't have a delivery set for me and that it would be another week or so before they could come. Now I understand the recent power outages in the area, but that shouldn't have an affect on getting propane delivery. I haven't had heat in my home for over a week. Now I gotta wait another week. Customer service had very broken English and could barely understand her. She asked if I was pleased with our conversation and I said no! Then she hung up on me. I assumed it was a dropped call, but they have my number on file and nobody has called me back. I'm gonna buy the largest tank possible and start filling it myself. My back can't lift anything heavy but I'm tired of dealing with little to no customer service when I'm paying for a service. It's currently $5.05 to have it delivered. I can easily take a tank down to the local station and have it filled for $3.89. Why so much more to have it delivered? Even when gasoline prices were at $7.21 for (87) delivery charges for propane were $4.29. Now with gasoline being $4.91 (87) it costs $5.05. That's price gouging. They know we need propane more often in the winter months so they Jack up the prices. I'm so fed up right now I can't clearly think straight because it's so damn cold in the house. This company has gone to AI robots and customer non-service outside of the US. Long wait times on the phone, hard to understand the English of the people on the other end of the line, and of little help. I've been struggling for 4 months to get a tank gauge replaced partially because Amerigas contracts the service end of things out. I still haven't had the fix resolved. At this point I am just waiting until my 288 gallon tank goes empty so I can have Sequoia Gas which has way better customer service, come replace the Amerigas with one of theirs. Sequoia Gas slaps quoted me at better prices. read more

I opened an account with Amerigas and they came out and delivered and hooked up the tank. I signed up for automatically filling the tank. Not only did they not put gas in the tank when they hooked it up but 3 months later I still had no gas in the tank. They installed it illegally and when I tried to get help from them with plans to install it properly so I could get permitted, I wound up speaking with a call center and a person who I could barely understand. He said I would have to figure it out on my own. I called the next day to cancel my account and it cost me $600.00 to cancel my account and have them pick up the tank. I just moved to a house on Greenwood Hts Dr, Kneeland, CA 95549, which has a 250 gal propane tank that has been there for 30 years, and was used by 2 different households before me, one a home that burned down, the other a mobile home much like the one I'm in now. I have a gas stove in the kitchen, and per my landlord, I contacted first one, then another propane supplier to be told rudely by the first and hung up on by the second, that they only supply propane to households with 3 or more gas appliances, regardless of the number of tenants. WTF. Can someone kindly explain the reasoning, because I cannot see any, nor do I find it at all acceptable!! I buy and pay for x amount of propane, and NOBODY has the right to regulate how many appliances I use, how many times a day, for how long, etc!! What if I had ten gas appliances but only used one once a month, versus, one appliance with a large family, and used it multiple times for hours every day?? How DARE some schmuck propane company, not one, but BOTH of the ones servicing this area, refuse to provide me with their product NOT BASED ON my credit worthiness, not based on distance or location of residence, not based on tank size, not based on method of payment, not based on accessibility of the tank, or vicious pitbull in the yard or weather or availability of propane or condition of the roads or politics or if there was a war or anything like that, but based on how many appliances I have??? That is sooooo wrong, so unacceptable, so stupid and insane and I'm not stopping at telling it to you fine folks, I'm going to make sure everyone everywhere hears about it until it shames these propane companies, Sequoia Gas and Amerigas, into changing their ridiculous policy!!! read more

Well where do we start.....? I had a tank from AmeriGas that leaked propane for over a year. It took so many missed hour from work making phone calls, to try and get them out to my house, to rectify the situation. The fear of my family safety is a real one. Going to school, working and raising a family, took so much time already. But then AmeriGas put bandaids on what needed to be fixed. What was needed; was a new tank! Even that took for ever..... the poor over worked short staff did there best. Which is friendly! Finally got me my new tank, after a year. With the leaked gas, they did come out and put some in a already leaking tank........ But the point a hand, was like throwing money into the wind. My money. I worked for and was taxed on again..... who know how much of that gas I actually got to utilize.......? Which was another disagreement from the arcade office! After the phone call this morning, to the Arcata office 09/04/2018 @ 8:01am the lady's words towards me was very condescending, saying my name in a manner which was and is very demeaning. Then was told they were not acting that way.......... OK. Heck of a way to start the day. Treat people how you want to be treated is what I believe. Then was told they would compensate me with two years free tank rental. This was NOT TRUE. They charged me anyway. It took a phone call to find out and another phone call to get it it fixed, when the notes clearly said like wise! That was from corporate office that confirmed such information. I NEVER GOT A BILL SAYING THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE ME AT ALL! They just took it out my Credit my tribe put on my account. Which I find to be very sneaky! So if you like being treated like crap, or like a second class citizen then is the place for you. But I dislike being taken advantage of. I strongly suggest sequoia gas in Fortuna. Or switching to all Electric and getgetting a generator. FYI, if you cancel them they take for ever to get there take out of your yard. I would not recommend AmeriGas. The price of their propane is at least $1.70 more per gallon then the other local competitor Campora. They charge you $114 for tank rent every 6 months compared to Campora which is $68 for a year. they also charge you $75 to pick up their tank when Campora offered to deliver it to them free of charge. We had been an Amerigas customer for over 15 years and have always paid our bill on time. I feel If they valued their customers they would offer fair pricing and quality customer service. It seems like they are more interested in making a quick profit instead of keeping a long-term customer. read more

If I could give Amerigas -1 star I would. We used their services for about 1 year. Then they left us without propane for 7 days with no estimated time to refill. Which means no showers, no heater, and no hot water during WINTER. So, naturally, we decided to switch companies to Sequoia (wonderful). However, it took multiple phone calls just to cancel the service, then 3 months before they would refund us $640 for which they already pre-charged us but never delivered the propane. And now 4 months and 20+ phone calls later their ugly rusted tank is still taking up space on our beautiful property. Twice they have been scheduled to pick up however the tank is still there. I spoke with a "manager" who was not able to confirm when they could pick up the tank in the future nor could she even reschedule me a new date. 4 MONTHS later and there is still no estimated date for removal. Just about the worst customer and technical service I have ever experienced from a company. read more

I purchased a house that already had an Amerigas tank. Not knowing much about the industry, I continued to allow Amerigas to fill my tank. I thought it was odd I was getting charged $5 a gallon, when there was a natural gas boom happening in this country. I called around and discovered I was paying DOUBLE to Amerigas, compared to what other local companies were charging. Not to mention the additional ridiculous fees Amerigas was charging me. I called the Amerigas Arcata Office and was told they would reduce my bill that one time. Then I was sent paperwork from Amerigas in the mail, stating I had to sign a one year contract, where they would dictate the price of gas to me. I promptly switched gas companies, after which my new gas company delivered the old tank back to Amerigas. I called Amerigas who confirmed they received the tank. Months later, Amerigas sent me a large bill for not returning the tank. I explained to Amerigas they had already received the tank. The Amerigas employee acted as if I was trying to pull one over on them. After much ado and getting other parties involved, they finally confirmed they received the tank. read more

So happy with this service. Rich came right away to replace critical propane pipes. He explained every step along the was and was never condescending. We are thrilled with the new service. read more
