Vahn is great, and I highly recommend him! He knows his stuff and has many years of experience in construction, civil engineering and home inspections. He grew up in a household that's in construction and real estate. He quickly responds to the first request for information. However, you should be able to find all you need from the detailed breakdown of prices on his website. He spent four hours on our house and thoroughly explained the HVAC system, how all our equipment works, and how to maintain it through the seasons. Very patient with answering all my Q's because I know nothing about it. While our home is relatively new and within limited warranty, he did find some HVAC-related items, electrical panel and external areas to improve. What did we receive at the end? A detailed 45-page report (we had two HVAC systems) with 10+ recommendations and pictures. He even had diagrams of our electrical, heating and plumbing systems etc. All the model numbers of our equipment and home appliances were listed and submitted to notify us of any recalls on an ongoing basis. It was worth it for us to get the home inspection after purchase. We paid for the extended thermal scan of the home, but we didn't upgrade for the radon scan. However, it's only $30 to add on a radon scan if you want a quick check.

We bought 85 boxes and opened around 25-30 boxes for initial installation. Our contractor found out two major problems with their hardwood floors: 1. The width of two sides of some board are not equivalent 2. The grove of some boards are bulging. Two pieces of boards cannot connect firmly and smoothly. We also noticed that there are so many black gaps between the floors when we put them together. It literally took us a week to report the problem and Sherwood finally sent someone over this morning. I did not anticipate that it was such a nightmare dealing with the representative. She did not greet me or look at me in the eyes. She completely ignored me and asked questions through a middle man who is an installer from Flooring Liquidator. She asked the installer if my heater had been on for the whole winter. I don't understand why she asked this kind of question to a visitor, not me. Moreover, she took a bunch of photos of my home without any explanation or asking for my permission, the plywood, moisturizer, thermostat and etc. she was not willing to take pictures of any defective products that we identified in our home. We even suggested to randomly open a new box and it turned out there were at least three pieces defective boards out of the 17 total boards in the box which far exceed the 5% defective rate. It turns out they have at least 18% defects in each box. So be prepared to buy a lot more if you plan to use their products. I haven't heard from them any solution or apology. All they were saying is it is very normal for hardwood floors to have this kind of problem. I was genuinely speechless.

I purchased engineered hardwood through Nick with an installation date of Oct 29/30. I was living…read morein a hotel due to a flood and was not in my unit when the floor was installed. When I moved back in on Nov 12 I discovered glue all over my floor, chips, scratches, dents from dropped tools, holes and saw marks and none of the doorstop moulding they applied was installed correctly. To date I have sent photos to Nick 3 times, spoken to the manager who appears to be completely out to lunch and have called Nick numerous times to have this resolved. each time Nick promises to call be the next day at a particular time to resolve the issue and to date he has not called back once, I have to keep calling him. The installers were Adam Kharaman and his son from Kharaman Flooring. I asked Adam to come back to repair the floor and remove the doorstop moulding so I could have another company come in and do the job properly, he removed most, not all, of the doorstop and destroyed my baseboards, which will now also need to be replaced. I had to ask him to remove the nails, which he said he would hammer in. He did sort of hammer a few over, but most of the nails are sticking straight out of my baseboards now. The floor has not been repaired and replaced where necessary and every time Adam comes into my home he causes more damage and is now not allowed back. Take a look at the photos and decide for yourselves whether this is a job you would want done in your home. So far, I have been offered a"free" box of flooring, which does me no good since A) I am recovering from a spinal fusion, and B) I"M NOT A BLOODY FLOORING INSTALLER; I PAID FOR A BLOODY FLOORING INSTALLER TO DO THE JOB! I want this done so the restoration from the flood is complete, and I can move on with my life. At this point, I'm going to have to get a lawyer involved. This whole experience has been a bad joke. UPDATE: Jan 06- Nick Granita made an appointment with me to come out this evening at 6:00 pm to take a look at the shoddy workmanship and discuss repairs, as expected; he did not call or show up at my home. UPDATE: Jan 07 - I called The Hardwood Flooring Store and asked to speak to the owner; Ron Ander who told me he was with a client and couldn't speak to me and then had a meeting but would call me back in 45 minutes. Fair enough, but as expected, like NickGranita he did not call back to discuss the issue. UPDATE: 08 - I just spoke to Ron Ander who tells me this has nothing to do with him or his company and unless I remove this revue he isn't going to do anything to have the the job that I paid for completed and that he's going to post a response saying that I'm some sort of crank. Well, Mr Ander, Kahraman Flooring was sent out by your company and as the owner the buck stops with you. I have been trying to come to some sort of resolution since Nov 15 2024, this review wasn't posted Mid-December, your company had plenty of opportunities to turn this around but chose not to. Again, look at the photos of their work and ask yourself who the crank is and if this is the kind of work you would want in your home. I had pulled down a bunch of drywall in the ceiling to find the leak. But I'm terrible at drywall repair, so I searched for a contractor to do the job properly, and found Slick Fix. I submitted my contact info and was reached by Aaron through text message. Within a few hours I was able to get a detailed estimate based on pictures I sent through text message. We settled on our options and made a deposit and agreed on a date to have the work done. Aaron came on time and well prepared. The work was done (relatively) quickly (it was a big hole) and with a high level of quality. The seams were smooth and unnoticeable. We went with a patch job on a textured ceiling, so Aaron had to patch the textured surface as well; which is very difficult to get right. The colour was a great match and the texture patch is also very good. I'm the end we are super happy with the work and would definitely recommend Slick Fix drywall repair. The work was fast and efficient and of high quality.
