They do not pick up the phone! When i finally spoke to someone, I was told I was apart of a group of people that never received the email and that he couldn't help me over the phone. Very nonchalant and uninformed. I have to come in person and inconvenience my schedule because they had a "glitch". They are not open on Fridays and this whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth and that $30 went down the drain because I don't plan on moving forward.

It's been 7 months since I have started the program and I have learned so much. I really love it. The material is dense but the professors are great at helping. In addition, the staff have helped me a lot, and have been very accommodating when certain things occurred. Finally, the clinical sites they work with are real, I have gained a lot of knowledge. The program is constantly trying to improve itself, which I very much appreciate. In my experience, American Institute did not deliver the level of support and guidance that was promised during the admissions process. Before I enrolled, I received frequent calls and follow-up from admissions while I was still within the refund period. Once that period ended, the communication and support changed significantly. I worked hard throughout the program, maintained excellent grades, and even participated in the work-study program because I genuinely wanted to succeed. Unfortunately, despite my dedication, I was dismissed by many of the promises regarding student support and assistance. I also experienced frequent changes in leadership within the education department, which created inconsistency and made it difficult to receive reliable guidance. During my time there, concerns were not addressed appropriately, and I often had to advocate for myself without meaningful assistance. My experience with Elizabeth Marrero was disappointing. I felt that my concerns were not handled professionally, and I did not receive the support I expected as a student. While participating in work-study, my nephew suffered malignant cancer and we lost him. I respectfully informed Miss Marrero and she rage texted me during class in the most unprofessional manner prior to my final rather than calling me to her office. Screenshots don't lie. Looking back, I regret choosing this school. If you're considering enrolling, I encourage you to thoroughly research all of your options, speak with current and former students, and compare programs before making a decision. The Newark campus is somewhat sparse with construction constantly going on just like in New Brunswick to beautify the school. Unfortunately it doesn't look like any of that is happening and after being here for a few years it barely looks like anything has changed. It's a headache coming down here in the morning and afternoon so unless you live near campus, which also not very inviting, it's just a hassle coming here, parking is a trap if you chance it parking on the street or you pay for a parking pass which still require $5 a pop after the $30+ subscription. Bursar, admissions, administration and everything else you have to deal with all bring on migraines and while I know this could be said for any University this one is especially so. I know Rutgers is held in high regard but personally my experience has been most unpleasant and coming to Newark for class is convenient but only a lesser of 2-3 evils.

The administrative building (Blumenthal) is found on University (between Warren and Raymond). You go here for all your registration and bursar needs. The health center is also found there. Most of the buildings where you take classes are contained in the block created by University, Warren, MLK, and Bleeker. Within that square, it's convenient to go to classes. Plus, in this square block are the Dana Library and the Paul Robeson Student Center. The dorms are between Bleeker and Central. Then there are the buildings between University and Washington - Center got Law and Justice (law school and some criminal justice classes there), the parking Deck, Golden Dome Athletic Center, and other classroom buildings. There is also another Parking Deck on Washington between Raymond and Warren. If you don't have a car, there are many public transportation options. The campus is located close to the Washington Street stop on the light rail, and there are also a number of buses that will bring you close to campus. There is a lot more passive green areas and places to sit outside, than when I went to school here many moons ago. It used to be just concrete and red outdoor tables that were bolted to the ground (not as picturesque as today). I am a fan of the Rutgers-Newark Campus. Plus it's close to the Newark Museum and the Main Newark Public Library, as well as the Haynes & Co. building and other nice spots in Halsey Village.

They never answered the phone. I should have known that something was wrong not right. They never picked up my son. I had to scramble around to get him a ride home. I wasn't close by and couldn't get him. Never got a call back, nothing. The thing us that the owner seemed really nice before. I have no idea they could be so unprofessional. Really bad experience.
