The thing I tell people when I recommend acupuncture and Oriental medicine, is that it works by STRENGTHENING your body and your natural healing systems. So even if something isn't cured, you're likely to feel better and be in better general health, as well as a better position to take allopathic medicine if you still need to. For instance, when I needed to take an allopathic medicine that was very hard on my liver, after some months I had "the shakes," (I couldn't keep my hand steady, and even my jaw was jittery). I had no idea that it was from the medicine. Verena saw this symptom, commented that it was a sign of a weakened liver, and successfully treated it--by strengthening my liver! I don't think she even knew I was on that medication, she just treated the weakened part of my system, and it worked.
