After four days, my gel manicure started to peel off from the cuticle area and I had to cut it off because it was dangling on my nail. My other nails are coming off as well. It doesn't last a whole week and it just feels like a waste of money.

Lots of plants. The teeth whitening is for a local dental office. Just showing the window plants.

A small full service nail salon with friendly service. Not extremely fancy inside but they have massage pedicure stations, they are fast, they have plenty of colors to pick from. Good prices. Nails didn't last long though.

Was looking to get my nails done after work one day and I was in the area so I yelped to see what was nearby. I decided to go to this nail salon and when I arrived, I was a little worried as it looked small and when I walked in and saw the nail techs were all busy I was afraid I'd be there all day. I decided to get a spa pedicure and a gel manicure. Despite being very busy, they got to me fairly quickly and was highly pleased with how my nails came out looking in the end. I will be definitely be making the drive out there to get my nails done more often.

    This is how I left....

Had the worst experience I've ever had getting my nails done at this place. The people are awfully rude. I would not recommend it.

I did have to take off my own nail polish and I was one of four people Jenny was working on.

V.I.P. Nails--Nailed it Last Saturday, April 12th, I was…read moredue for a manicure. I hadn't been in a New England nail salon in over 7 years. Having lived in Texas for the past 7 years, where there is an overwhelming need for nail salons and one about every two blocks, I was excited to drive past V.I.P. Nails on my way back to the UMASS campus. V.I.P. Nails is located next to the Big Y on University Drive, about a 5-minute drive from campus depending on traffic. The morning before Extravaganja, proved a longer drive for me. I was still excited when I walked into V.I.P. Nails. I was greeted instantly and directed to the 3 walls of possible colors. I must say--they have a great selection. I was directed to table 3, where I would be having my manicure. A manicure costs $14 at V.I.P. nails, an average price--and worth it I must say (continue reading). Once my manicurist sat down I posed the question--"Is it possible to have butterfly nail art on top of my color?" "Of course," she replied. This was an excellent start. I sat back and began my experience at V.I.P. Nails. Pros: - My manicurist, in particular, was the best I've had in a long time. It began the way it always does--nail filing. Honestly, this act has brought be shivers and goose bumps without fail. However, she was gentle and the plasma screen TV with the TLC channel (a guilty pleasure for any woman in a nail salon) eased me past this part. After shaping my nails and prepping them for color, she massaged my hands and arms. This is rare--often the "massages" given at nail salons are sub-par. However, she not only spent over a minute massaging each hand, she spent a minute on each arm and concluded by adding hot towels into the mix! - Now onto color. The desks at V.I.P. nails secured my return visit. I had never seen such an innovative item! My side of the table, facing my manicurist had two secret holes on for my hands. The nail drier is right there! More than typically, the driers are towards the front, where if you had gotten a pedicure, you would have to wobble over there. But the driers where right there, making it almost a machine process of drying, passing hand for my paint, drying, cover polish, drying, nail art, drying. It was amazing! - The nail art. Another manicurist, the nail art specialist, took over after my initial color was done. This woman did a remarkable job. She asked if I could show her a photo on my phone of what I wanted. I thought this was great costumer service. I showed her and she did exactly that--the butterflies on my nails look perfect. (Picture attached). - The overall look of the place was polished. The furniture was brand-new, not to mention stylish and comfortable. The ambiance of the place is friendly and welcoming. They have a bowl of candy and not to mention the three walls covered from top to bottom in color options. Cons: - I will admit to a few things that caused me discomfort. Kiss FM. Perhaps this is a personal thing but I cannot stand Kiss FM--which was the only thing playing in V.I.P. Nails when I was a client. The nonstop Taylor Swift to Dub step to Katy Perry to Robin Thicke was too much. But with the balance of the muted TLC programming, I survived! - Their website should advertise that they prefer cash. As a nail salon customer, I should know this already. However, my mind aside, paying and "tipping" with a card isn't the best thing for a nail salon. Seeing that the tips don't go directly to the people I wanted them too. Shoulda brought cash!

I came to VIP today after confusing the time at my regular place. I needed a soak off and new gel…read moremanicure. They took me as a walk in right away and I was very pleased with the attention to detail and quality of the work. They used a polish-like treatment to remove the old gel polish, which was interesting. It peeled up on its own and there was less scraping/filing. Thank you VIP!

I've not seen anyone else for nearly two decades, which included returning from out of state/country to have her do my hair (she's also great with styling/coloring/cutting in such away that even if I'm away for 6+ months the style/color still grows out well). Atmosphere is very cozy and private - it's by appointment only and the one on one detailed treatment definite yields results. My cat also loves to accompany me and b/c of the way the salon is set up she can explore to her heart's content w/out stressing. Highly recommend. The pricing is also very reasonable for the services and skillfulness provided. Definitely not more than other higher end salons in the area, if not seemingly less considering that when I do get a chance to come in it's a lot of complicated and time consuming services.
