Senior medical associates is a collection of 6 medical professional (5 MD's and one nurse…read morepractitioner) that provide primary care to patients 65 and older. This location is one of 10 locations in broward county. It is located directly next to university hospital , off University drive in Tamarac. The office is beautiful and clean and I like that they don't have that horrendous barrier window that makes you feel as you are bothering the staff just to sign in. The office has coffee, juices and applesauce (good thinking for diabetic patients) available for consumption. My father met Dr Sondra Aikens who will be his new primary care doctor now that he is 65. His bedside manner is outstanding. He sat eye level with my dad and had patience with my dad's responses to his questions( my dad is forgetful and slow to respond). He even made some funny jokes along the way. He was very throughout in his assessment and explaining the plan of care with my dad and my self. All of the staff especially Katherine were exceptionally pleasant and made sure the follow up and instructions were understood. I am so grateful this will be my dad's new primary care physician. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for doctors who specialize in geriatrics!

I had a breast reduction surgery here on September 1st with Dr. Lisa Learn. I had a wonderful…read moreexperience at this hospital. I had a choice of going here or 2 other hospitals and I'm glad I chose Imperial Point. I'm someone who's terrified of surgery, even moreso because it was during a pandemic so I had to be alone at the hospital and no one was allowed to even walk me in, so this was a huge deal for me to be as calm and comfortable as possible. I arrived at 5:30 in the morning for my surgery, checked in, demanded a private room, paid for my co-pay, and then walked up to the 2nd floor where they prepped me for surgery. The nurse that prepped me was really the only one I would complain about. She seemed to have a bit of an attitude. I think her name was Suzette. Everyone else was so sweet and caring. She started my IV as I waited for my anesthesiologist, Dr. Jordan to show up. I spoke to Dr. Jordan about a month prior to my surgery on the phone. I told him I was terrified to do this and was also worried about nausea because throwing up is my biggest phobia. He was one of the nicest people I've ever talked to and so reassuring and told me we would do twilight anesthesia and that he would give me some good drugs to prevent it. I then had my surgeon request that he be my anesthesiologist. I met with him after my IV was started and he put an anti-nausea patch behind my ear and gave me a pill for it and then they wheeled my ass off to the OR. At this point he must've been filling my IV up with other drugs because I was stoned and seeing double and the anxiety that I had suddenly started to disappear. I can't thank the OR nurse and scrub tech. enough. I wish I knew their names because I wanted to send them a gift. Especially the tech. I told her I was so worried and she held my hand, hugged me, asked me if I believe in God and I said yes, so she prayed for me. Then they put the mask on my face and I was out. After 4 hours, I woke up in the PACU after what felt like 5 minutes, 8 pounds lighter and able to see my feet. I was so out of it so I don't remember the nurse that was in there but she was also great. I had very mild nausea. I can't thank Dr. Jordan enough. I was so happy I got it over with. They brought me up to my room and the nurse and nurse's assistant were great and so helpful. I went into the hospital thinking I would be pressing the call button a thousand times, but I didn't have to. A few hours later, the scrub tech. from the OR was getting off of her shift and she came upstairs and said that she just wanted to stop by to check on me because I was so scared. I really appreciated that. She truly loves her job and cares about people. The only issue that I really had was with the first room that I was in. I started sweating bullets and thought that I was running a fever, then I realized that the air conditioning was broken. I asked for a room change and they didn't give it to me right away so I needed to become a little demanding and they transferred me to another room. I was very happy with Imperial Point and would highly recommend this place. The doctors, nurses, and my whole surgical team were nothing short of outstanding. Except for that Suzette.
