Went here for the first time last night (Wednesday 6th February 2012). I had heard from others that it was good. My son fancied a curry so, as this is our nearest Indian restaurant, thought we'd give it a go!
Got there about 7:30pm and asked for a table. We were asked to wait because we hadn't booked but we only waited about 5 minutes.
The service was really friendly and the whole place was very clean. The food wasn't fantastic but was nice and it was served hot.
The prices weren't too bad as myself and my oldest son had the 3 course special which is available Sunday to Monday evenings and my youngest didn't want a lot. I don't think it would have been such good value had we had to pay full price for everything.
The only problems were: the service was a little slow at times, considering the number of staff and that they weren't particularly busy; I ordered a curry which, on the menu said it was made with banana but actually was made with pineapple (not too much of a problem but I would think this is something which should be pointed out, considering that there are people with an allergy to pineapple); it was very cold in the restaurant, especially in the toilets; and, although the menu clearly said that any starter was available with the 3 course meal, I was charged extra for one starter because it was meant for two people (I was charged the full price for this).
It is child friendly but mine were the only children in there. It is the kind of place I like because it means that I can take my well-behaved children knowing that an encounter with brats is unlikely!
Overall, it is a nice, clean, friendly place and I would gladly go again. read more
