During consultation we went over the color pallet and any specific props I was looking for in the session. I was very nervous and skeptical on how it would turn out. Christina didn't listen to what I wanted…read moreat all, and when I told her I was uncomfortable in a certain pose (Sitting on a jagged rock on a steep hill, in a dress and heels, while holding my newborn), she threatened to quit and wouldn't continue shooting until I did the pose she wanted. She was terrible at giving directions (just turn, turn the other way, no the other way, move your hand, etc - entirely unclear) and would get mad at us when we didn't guess correctly what she meant. When we didn't pose the way she wanted, she would make sarcastic and snippy comments that made us all SO uncomfortable and made the whole shoot so awkward. And then she'd bark at you to smile! We did not get one single photo that we will ever use. I am so very sad and mad, not only that we wasted $500 but that we can't go back and get photos that we can actually use of my baby at this age again. We can never get that back. I would highly encourage you to think twice before hiring Christina if you have a baby - she absolutely does NOT know how to shoot babies. Or family groups. If you have any thoughts or opinions of your own whatsoever about what you want, she will not listen to you. When I told her what shots I wanted (which we had discussed over the phone and in email prior to the shoot) she yelled at me that she's the professional and basically I needed to shut up and do it her way because I don't know anything. I left the shoot in tears. It was truly awful. And surprise surprise, I've never seen less flattering photos of myself or my family in my entire life. There is literally not one single photo where you can see everyone's face and everyone has their eyes open! I truly believe she started taking bad photos intentionally after I didn't want to do one of her poses because even a non-professional photographer could capture at least one or two that were ok. Think twice before hiring her.

Then they allow customers to do outfit changes without booking an additional appointment during peak season. (A policy I was told was in effect when I asked for my family to have an outfit change a couple of years ago.) Then they say they are going to fit us in when an appointment no showed. After waiting for 50 minutes and still not being called they lied and said that appointment showed up. We never left the studio and heard every appointment check in with their time so we know for a fact that appointment never showed! We were told to go home. Guess no pictures of my kiddo for grandma and grandpa this year.

The photographers couldn't care less what sort of pictures they shoot. They don't care if your kids eyes are opened or closed, if they're looking off camera, messing with their shoe, if their shirt is twisted around their body or any other such thing. They won't bother to grab a stool or chair or prop from the corner so the kids are comfortable; they ask them to crawl around on the floor with their dressy clothes and expect "cross-cross applesauce" to look like a semi-formal pose. When they press the shutter, the photographer is one step closer to getting you out the door and that seems to be the only thing they care about. Photographers rushed through the session (they only schedule 15 minutes to begin with), and took no time to make kids comfortable at all. Want forced "cheese" smiles in awkward poses. When the kids did have natural smiles, the photographer didn't bother to take a picture, but made some comment like "you should have smiled when I was ready". Got about a dozen pictures in the end because some were with the kids with their eyes closed, and truly only two of those were decent. All the rest were awkward poses, chins down and glaring through eyelashes, no smiles, disdain from even the kids who could tell the photographer wasn't trying to get a decent picture but rush us out the door. Then they want to sell you $900 worth of digital photos- HA! Only 2 were even acceptable! The store doors were locked and we had to be escorted out because this store closes at 7pm! The store employee that unlocked the front doors for us asked how the photo session went and I shook my head; she said "didn't like it?" as if I'm certainly not the first. Horrible experience.

They volunteered their time and services to capture the importance of our walk. I asked if they did engagement photos and they said yes!
