It was also often that workers would not show up until 2 or even 4 when the center closes at 4:45 pm i looked up the phone number but was not motivated enough to go through the calling system to get a representative to do something about this location, and i looked up another recycling center down the street and left. i can see that the workers do not care about the people or their job so why should they keep getting a paycheck for hours that they arent even at the location?

Also they weighed everything while I was busy filling out papers for first time customers , therefore I didn't notice that they did 3 separate weigh ins for 3 water heaters that I brought. One had a huge tare ,bringing down weight significantly, not sure what was it for. Then they labeled one as white goods, bringing down the rate . They bamboozled me and i made the mistake for trusting them and not reviewing receipt while still there . Regardless , they made me sign before even telling me the total amount that I was getting . I've been on this mission lately to do more reusing, recycling, reimagining and being less…read morewasteful. In my mission, I've been researching recycling centers around the city. Somehow in my first venture to a recycling center, I ended up here. I thought it was somehow an official center - but it's not. The SoCal Recycling Center at 2503 Whittier Blvd in Los Angeles operates as a mobile recycling center. It's open Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm, with a daily lunch break from 12 pm to 12:30 pm. The center is located at the Pavilions and is messy, not a lot of parking, but it gets the job done. No one helped us, explained things, or even said a single word! Until a few minutes into the weighing, the staff made some kind of funny joke to us lo. Overall though, due to lack of parking and just overly being dirty, my search for a good recycling center in LA continues! Recycling Tips: Aluminum, glass and plastic bottles need to be separated! Get that cash money!

It's in the same plaza as Ralphs, off of Emerson Ave. This isn't my usual recycling place. So it was a surprise to me to find out that they accept wine bottles and even those Ragu jars! (Be sure to clean the inside since the workers have to break it down themselves.) My regular recycling center didnt take those so I've been just tossing it in the trash. (My garbage company says they will separate it out but somehow I am skeptical.) Since finding this place, I've been bringing all of my wine bottles and glass jars here. As for the value when it comes to these glass items, I'm not sure if I am getting a fair price or not since I have nothing to compare it to. But at least in my situation, I am getting a little something instead of absolutely nothing when I toss it in the trash. The lines go quickly at this location. It's definitely a shorter wait time compared to my usual place. And the staff here are friendly. I've been back and will keep coming back!

They only take plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and drink glass bottles. I was denied milk gallon bottles and empty glass sauce jars. Aluminum cans $1.65 by weight When I come here during the weekday afternoons, it's always so busy. They have a water dispenser and hand sanitizer on a small table by the sidewalk. The bins they use for sorting are super light and netted. This means anything smaller than 3 inches will fall out.
