Cashed out same day , but once I reviewed receipt after I left , I discovered that they combined my clean and dirty copper with brass and gave me brass rates . Also they weighed everything while I was busy filling out papers for first time customers , therefore I didn't notice that they did 3 separate weigh ins for 3 water heaters that I brought. One had a huge tare ,bringing down weight significantly, not sure what was it for. Then they labeled one as white goods, bringing down the rate . They bamboozled me and i made the mistake for trusting them and not reviewing receipt while still there . Regardless , they made me sign before even telling me the total amount that I was getting . The place is a place that tries to give you the least for your goods. I could have pointed out that they where mislabeling the metals and giving significantly less than what I brought in weight and made a lot more money and caused a scene but I chose to just take what they provided and give them this review to let people know that this place is shady!! Don't let them get over on you if you care! Pay attention to the weight of your product and make sure that they label it as exactly what it is because they will pull a fast one on you faster than Billy the kid and literally rob you in your face like it's just okay... I literally watched them put down wrong weight and labels and because I don't look like I speak Spanish the guy said charge him for that (pointing at plastic) and I will fix it when (individuals name) comes up... I silently laughed at them because it was free for me and I was happy with whatever but it's just wrong of them to do that period... I am not a regular scrapper. I showed up with some copper and I didn't know what to do with it. These guys were busy and had work to do but they were super kind and patient and explained to me how everything and how it works so that I could maximize the money on the metals. Have been coming here for a few years and today is the last time coming to this trash. Brought in over 300lbs of PBX WIRES that we were told were $1.38 per pound but were charged ¢.91 per pound for mixed wires. There was less than 7ft of wires that were different on the top but with no explanation they separated it but didn't weigh it. Other than the small chaotic parking lot, they lie about the prices and what they're offering for copper. Some of the workers on the side don't help much or explain because of language barriers unprofessional and messy read more

My experience with Ekco Metals has been excellent. I have used them twice to recycle insulated copper cables, such as Power cords, HDMI, RCA cables. I got a quoted price range on Yelp. and they paid what they said they would, and the price that was offered was quite good. This isn't my usual experience with other metal recyclers. Probably because business is so competitive and price of copper is down, I have experienced with others is they quote a high price, and then offer a much lower price in person. If you are selling metal, the process is to park your truck in the lot, remove any plastic bags or extraneous material, check with the weighing office to understand how to separate your goods, put the metal into a flat dolly or plastic bin, and bring it back to be weighed and payed. Hire an expensive crane? not me. I climbed onto the roof and dissembled my rooftop A/C unit. My first thought was having to haul it to the dump. My second thought saved me the expense and put almost $150 into my pocket. I went to Ecko. Ecko has adjacent scrap yards, one for massive industrial metals and a yard on Washington near Soto for the public. They don't mess with CRV recycling. Greg was friendly and professional. I had a very good experience here. The staff is professional and will help you quickly if you have a large amount of metal / scrap. They have the right equipment and clearly know what they are doing. I came here after being offered $.10 a pound at D & T scrap for high quality aluminum that had some screws and tape on it. Ekco offered me $.40 and sincerely I wish I came here first. I am happy that I don't have to look around for another scrap yard in the LA area. read more
