Extremely overpriced service and poor communication…read more After hearing great things about Scott Baird Automotive from family and friends, I was extremely disappointed with the two car Services I received this year. For the first service (my partners car), I asked that if there were any issues with the car, these would be quoted before they proceeded with remedying them. I was contacted later by Scott who said there were issues, and made it seem like he had already remedied them but did not discuss any pricing or cost of this, so I assumed they were minor. When I arrived to pick up my car, I was charged far more than what was inferred as the 'genuine' parts ordered were purchased directly from the manufacturer. Apparently this brief phone call was confirmation of my agreement to proceed with remedying these significant issues, when it was vague and communicated poorly. I decided to give Scott Baird Automotive a second chance for my car given the good things I had heard about them (big mistake). On this occassion I only received a standard car service (Oil and Filter Change + minor works and ensuring car was up to spec) and was charged $250 labour for 2 hours work, $400 all up. Furthermore, they will only install 'genuine' parts that are ordered directly from the manufacturer (in my case Honda) who charge excessive rates for their parts, so you're better off going straight to your car manufacturer for your service if you are going to pay a premium anyway. Only reason for 2 stars is for the work they carried out was up to a high standard and Scott came across as genuine, but their labour and service costs are extremely overpriced and poor value for money.

I have had all problems associated with my car over the years fixed, without any recurring issues. My car often ends up cleaner than it was after the service. I am consulted before any repairs are made and effort is made to source the best value parts. Loan cars are available with all staff at the business very friendly and keen to help. I have had problems fixed by just turning up and they immediately have helped and solve the issue without cost. They are in a great location of Glen Innes if in the Eastern Suburbs and are close enough also if further south-east.

First time spraying lasted a good length of time, second time was a young lad who didn't seem very experienced, then recently Daniel came and did a whole house ant spray - inside, outside, under-house etc - which made a HUGE difference!! A couple of months later I had a very small resurgence of ants in one spot, called Bug King and Daniel came around promptly. He inspected the problem, sprayed some of the areas again, explained to me that some of the grouting had been eaten away by ants and that was one of the places they were getting in, so I will repair that and hope for no more. He also sprayed a wasp nest on the front fence as he left. Thanks Daniel - your knowledge of Bugs is second to none and thanks for taking time to explain the problems. They offer a 6 months warranty but they look for reasons not to honour it. Like, do not mop the floors! For 6 months?!? I think vacuuming voids the warranty as well. They didn't have this in their agreement last time we hired them. Scam!
