We had recently purchased a used Honda CR-V and when it was taken to Honda they said it needed $4900 worth of repairs. We are very suspicious that Honda was going over the top in trying to restore the car to factory new conditions and that was impractical and unreasonable in our opinion. We took the car to Maidstone and they were able to look at it quickly and came back with a few of the same repairs Honda was suggesting. In one case they agree with Honda on a repair and getting the part as genuine Honda part. The remainder of the repairs were either cheaper, or they felt were not sensible to perform at this stage. As a result we saved several thousand dollars compared to Honda's repair suggestions. At the end we forgot to get a windshield wiper replaced on the rear of the vehicle and Maidstone gave it to us and didn't charge. They seemed like reputable and honest mechanics who stand behind their work and will make sensible recommendations. We will be taking all of our vehicles to Maidstone moving forward.

Extremely overpriced service and poor communication…read more After hearing great things about Scott Baird Automotive from family and friends, I was extremely disappointed with the two car Services I received this year. For the first service (my partners car), I asked that if there were any issues with the car, these would be quoted before they proceeded with remedying them. I was contacted later by Scott who said there were issues, and made it seem like he had already remedied them but did not discuss any pricing or cost of this, so I assumed they were minor. When I arrived to pick up my car, I was charged far more than what was inferred as the 'genuine' parts ordered were purchased directly from the manufacturer. Apparently this brief phone call was confirmation of my agreement to proceed with remedying these significant issues, when it was vague and communicated poorly. I decided to give Scott Baird Automotive a second chance for my car given the good things I had heard about them (big mistake). On this occassion I only received a standard car service (Oil and Filter Change + minor works and ensuring car was up to spec) and was charged $250 labour for 2 hours work, $400 all up. Furthermore, they will only install 'genuine' parts that are ordered directly from the manufacturer (in my case Honda) who charge excessive rates for their parts, so you're better off going straight to your car manufacturer for your service if you are going to pay a premium anyway. Only reason for 2 stars is for the work they carried out was up to a high standard and Scott came across as genuine, but their labour and service costs are extremely overpriced and poor value for money.

I have had all problems associated with my car over the years fixed, without any recurring issues. My car often ends up cleaner than it was after the service. I am consulted before any repairs are made and effort is made to source the best value parts. Loan cars are available with all staff at the business very friendly and keen to help. I have had problems fixed by just turning up and they immediately have helped and solve the issue without cost. They are in a great location of Glen Innes if in the Eastern Suburbs and are close enough also if further south-east.

Was told I needed to let AA, who I was insured with, know because they were not AA approved. Went to AA, told them Panmech had the best reviews and I wanted them to do my repairs. I felt AA were impressed and I was given the go ahead. I needed two lots of repairs done - one via AA claim and a scrape on the other side that I was going to pay for. Given two printed quotes Paid the excess for the AA claim but put my repair on hold. Repair only took 2 days - very impressed. It was the day after I picked my car up when I walking around it I noticed both sides of my car had been repaired. I went straight back to their office totally overwhelmed and was told by the lovely receptionist to please don't worry but I spoke with Mark who also said it wasn't a problem and not to worry about it. I was in tears and gave him a big hug. Thank you so much for caring you guys are AMAZING.

Mark had a look at it straight away, assessed how bad it was and what needed to be done and quoted us around $500, completed by maybe Friday, hopefully Monday. We asked him to pretty please try and get it done quickly, gave him the key and headed home. By 3:30pm on Friday, Mark was calling me to let me know it was done. We came and picked it up, and it was right on what he quoted us, and the job looked excellent (he had warned us that due to the location, it might be noticeable where they painted it - it looked fine to me). He gave us photos to give to the mechanics doing the WoF. Mark was really friendly and did an excellent job, and while I hope I won't have to use a panelbeater again, I highly recommend his work to anyone who needs it!

They seem to genuinely care about you and returning your car in great condition. They clean the inside and spray the tyres to make them shine as part of their services. What I don't like is how picky they are with the WOF, and it always seems to cost quite a bit to get things fixed. Still, I return because they know Nissans extremely well, and I can count on a great service each time.

I asked for them to look at the fan belt when I booked in. I had to wait 2 weeks cause they were busy, but when I took it in, they remembered. It didn't need replacing, but they gave me prices for a new fan belt for when it did so I knew what Expense I'd have to make later down the track. Really impressed! Also very friendly and efficient service. Only thing I'd say is I'd like them to call before any extra expenses were made on my car - they were minor (only an extra $50), but would've been great so I wasn't stressing about it during the day.

The staff were efficient, polite, and charged very competitively. They fitted all the tyres and wheel-balanced the car while I got the groceries over the road at Pak n Save. The staff also noticed and fixed a slow-leak puncture, and washed and polished the tyres so they looked all nice for me as I drove off. What's more, they said I could come back any time for free, and they'd check the tyres were wearing okay and keeping their pressure fine too. I really couldn't ask for more. Highly recommend the Glen Innes Pit Stop to anyone, they are just brilliant.
