Used Amp Electric to install a new breaker box, upgraded from 100 to 200 amp service. This also involved moving the electric mast to meet current building codes. All of the electric service was top notch, the electrician I used for my kitchen remodel told me the work was fine. However, the new mast they installed was horribly installed. They installed the flashing ON TOP of the shingles above the mast, put two nails through it and the all the shingles, gobbed some tar on it and left it at that. I called Amp Electric and gave my complaint to whoever answered the phone. Was called back later saying that is they way they do it and it is fine. It took six shingles because we had to replace the ones that had nail holes through the surface. My cost was only $160 to repair because I already had the shingles. So a mixed review. Don't have them do anything except electric work. read more

BEWARE! The $49.95 furnace tuneup special appears to be somewhat of a bait&switch. Once in the door they find something wrong (which is fine) but then charge you an outrageous amount to "fix" it, more than making up for the low cost of inspection. After inspecting and showing me the two burners, the tech said they there was corrosion on them that should be removed and would cost over $200. I consented, assuming this would take a considerable amount of time. Five minutes after taking them to his truck for cleaning he was back and showed me the burners with only some of the corrosion removed. He said "that's the best I could do. THAT WILL BE $250". So for 5 minutes of work he was charging me $50@ minute. I demurred and ended up settling for $$150 for the corrosion removal, still way to much! His response " you're paying me for my expertise, not my time". I found my experience with them to be very disappointing! Again: BEWARE! The business responded below and falsely claimed I "dumped a can of diet coke in their technician's too bag". I DID NO SUCH THING AND WOULD NEVER DO SUCH A THING! I agree with the company's claim that I consented to the charge in advance but assumed the time required for the work would justify the charge. The cleaning of the burners took no more than 5 minutes! That meant they were still charging me $50 @ minute. Although I negotiated to a reduced charge of $150 for cleaning the burners, that was still $30@ minute! I stand by my original claim that this company engaged in a bit of "bait & switch"! And the claim that I took revenge on the technician by dumping a can of diet coke in his tool bag is outrageous and false and appears to be an attempt to discredit my negative review of this business! read more

We had Amp Electric out to install a Tesla home wall charger on Friday, February 12th. They came out for a quote and later that week, they were able to come out and install the charger. The charger itself works flawlessly. I have no complaints about the electrical work completed. During the install, the technician, Zac, damaged a wall panel in our home creating about a foot-long crack. He completed his work, left, and did not mention the damage at all. My husband reached out to me regarding the damage and I immediately contacted Amp regarding this. The owner, Joseph, called my husband after I sent an email stating I was extremely upset and wanted an answer for what was going to be done to correct this. They attempted to reach me via telephone, however, I was at work. Joseph was able to reach my husband via the phone and discussed potentially gluing the panel back in place. This was not an acceptable repair. The first email from Joseph claimed that they did not know if the damage was already pre-existing. Mind you, they came out for an inspection about a week beforehand. Also, this wall is right next to our door that we use multiple times per day. To even claim something like this before getting the facts is jarring. Then they continued to state that the technician heard it tear, but then forgot to mention it before he left. All of this in the same phone call. More so, my husband was told if they were going to repair this wall panel, they would be taking a loss on the job. It was at this point that I already had lost all faith in this business. At the end of the day, I do not care if the job bankrupted the company. You damaged our home; you are going to pay for the repairs. Plain and simple. (Either that or file a claim against your business insurance?) As our emails continued, I was obviously upset regarding this situation. I was told that this was not a big deal (multiple times) and that I was being incredibly mean, and super disrespectful. There is a difference between mean, and direct. I never cussed, swore, name-called, or anything like that. Was I accusatory? Of course! They damaged our home! I believe anyone would be upset if a contractor damaged their home. Joseph's wife Katie, the office manager, hopped on our email chain. Somehow, I was being told all about their children, Katie working from home, and that my husband really needed to make sure I had a Valentine's Day gift. Frankly, their overly cavalier attitude regarding the damage was frustrating. I did not care about their personal lives. They were trying to build a rapport when they needed to be creating solutions; the only thing I was truly after. I asked on Monday after the weekend passed how we will be moving forward. I told them I was aware they have been texting my husband that morning and over the weekend. I was responded to with just a few screenshots of the conversation they had with my husband. No words, nothing, just screenshots. I responded that I am aware of the conversation, but none of my previous questions were answered. At this point, Katie again steps in again. Being burned by other businesses before, I requested from the very beginning that our conversations move forward via emails only as I like to have a record of all conversations. I was told that "I am not in any position to tell them how to they may or may not communicate for their business purposes." Apparently, email is not welcomed, even though up to that point I only communicated via email. The scheduling of the original appointment was also done via email. I was then told that it has only been 45 minutes since my last email. Katie was correct, it was just 45 minutes, but you emailed me back the screenshots. Was I supposed to be thrilled my questions were yet again, not answered? Emails do not have to have an immediate response. If you do not have answers, it is completely fair to wait to respond until you do. However, if you become upset and call your customers mean because you do not have answers, that is on you. An email stating "We do not have any answers yet but we will respond just as soon as we can" would have been acceptable. But no, Katie repeatedly stated that I had an attitude and that I was disrespectful. Family businesses are great, until they take business issues personally versus professionally, and let's be honest, Katie was far from professional with her name-calling. I am still absolutely floored by this company and plan on leaving this review anywhere I possibly can. At the end of the day, I found two contractors to give us a quote, and Amp cut a check for the repairs, mind you, the repair cost half of what I paid them for the original charger install. As a Tesla recommended contractor to install home chargers, I also filed a complaint with Tesla regarding their conduct. I called for an estimate to wire a hot tub. I was told by the office manager they were scheduling out about 2 weeks. The estimate was performed quickly and was reasonably priced. When I accepted the proposal they said it would be 4 weeks out. Twice the time frame I was expecting. This company advertises "extreme satisfaction". I expressed my surprise and unhappiness with the time frame in an email (their form of communication). The owner called me and said because I wrote a nasty email they would not perform work for me.
