For starters - the prices are absolutely ridiculous and the owners should be ashamed of themselves. Taking the location into consideration, this place shouldn't charge 30+ pln for a dish. It's not that kind of a place. But since I felt too embarrassed to stand up and walk out, I decided to order pielmieni, a type of pierogies, but Russian. They differ from Polish pierogies by size (pielmieni are at least half the size of regular Polish pierogies) and are traditionally served in broth with a size of Russian mustard and/or cream. For the price of 23 pln, I got in a bowl of ridiculously overpriced pielmieni that I am going to rate as "meh, I've had better". They were average, mediocre.. And the broth was close to tasteless and looked borderline nasty. I also ordered a glass of their house wine since they had Georgian wines available and the price listed on the menu was 11 pln. So I was slightly surprised when I got my check and the wine was listed as 13 pln. Not cool. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of just one is the fact that their menu, despite the ridiculous prices, offers a unique blend of far Eastern European and Caucasian cuisine as well as the fact that the waitress seemed nice and did her job properly (aside from not mentioning that the wine was more expensive than stated in the menu..) You can pay by card and the place is located right next to the "Nowolipki" tram station on Jana Pawła II. Be aware of the fact that the radio is kind of loud and the music goes from being traditional Slavic sung in Russian to regular Western mainstream pop songs. I won't be coming back.

It was a bit greasy for me, didn't really resemble the photo on the sign, and my husband claimed the lamb tasted like pork, but I was content with it. This is exactly the situation at Shipudei Berek, a modern Israeli restaurant run by a passionate chef who wanted to bring a piece of Tel Aviv to Warsaw! I just can't emphasize how great this restaurant is--from the trendy modern decor, the friendly service, the videos of life & food in Israel playing in the background, and yes, the delicious food, Shipudei Berek is just bomb! The thing I loved the most was the mezze spread--10 different dishes of freshly prepared appetizers that come with every skewer entree: cabbage, tzatziki, red sumac onions, spicy carrots, shredded carrots, beets, grated tomato, tahini, hummus with chili, and pickled cucumbers & chilies! Every mezze dish was so fresh and seasoned so perfectly--if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the dreamy, creamy hummus, which just goes perfectly with the pita bread that comes on the side! On top of the mezze, we also got an order of the octopus shipud, which were four pieces of octopus marinated and grilled on skewers! This was delicious as well, though I'd probably suggest getting another protein, since the octopus came out a bit burnt using this preparation. Come, come, come to Shipudei Berek, and if I haven't given you enough reasons, here's one more: the prices are an absolute steal for the quality of food and the overall experience! Both were delicious but original is original - amazing. Perfect amount of sauce and ingredients on thin dough. Love it. And they are big too. Took some home, can't wait for lunch. Good wine selection! What makes this place special is also very professional and extremely nice staff. I don't remember last time I felt so pleased with service. They deserve 5 starts themselves. I got the pear and blue cheese one and it was really good. I liked how the sweetness of the pear complements the sourness of the cheese. It was amazing, even though i didn't like the lavender but i removed it and it didn't affect the taste of it. My husband got the zucchini and cheese and it was great as well. I loved both of them, but i like mine better. He liked his better. For dessert we got cream brûlée and it was good but it was orange flavored and it didn't like that. But i'm definitely going there again.
