Would strongly not recommend building a residential property with Amron.
Very unhappy with post build warranty, touch-ups, overall attention to customer satisfaction. As much as I would like to be happy with my $600,000 new home build, the details and Amron's desire to take care of messes and little things is very maddening. I thought they would treat me like one of theirs, but they have done the furthest thing from this. Here are the reasons:
- throughout the process I was constantly downgraded from materials said to be included in the quote. Example. Flooring that I was told would be covered in the quote was downgraded to two floors lowers months later into the process
- Post move-in was the biggest issue. I signed off and didn't hold back any money, trusting that Amron would take care of move in touch-ups. And with a 1-year labour and meterials warranty, you would think the little things would be dealt with in that one year.
- Painting was absolutely terrible. 13 months later and I am still finding different colours of paint on baseboards, missed spots. Furthermore, due to being completed in the winter they painted all over the garage floors (concrete) and called the paint splatter "normal" and wouldn't clean it up, stating "this is normal it's not finished flooring anyways".
- A pipe burst outside one of the bathrooms since the pipe to drain water from the bathtub wasn't connected properly so water went in the hall and ruined the flooring, concrete foundation and baseboards. Amron came and fixed it but didn't replace any baseboards or drywall or anything really, still not sure if it is even dry underneath. Claimed this under warranty since Amron wouldn't do anything with it stating "You signed off that it was good" which I DID NOT sign off on this work being completed. Warranty also claims they will not cover it since "from normal viewing from 5ft away it is hardly noticeable" but they agree when you look up close there is damage.
- In the half bath upstairs, the painter closed the door prior to the paint drying and it PEELED UP THE WOOD IN THE DOOR they sanded it to the point of the door coming with it and it DID NOT take away the marks from the wood finish being taken out. Claimed this under warranty but they "cannot see within 5 ft" but can see it otherwise so it does not fall under their warranty. Very disappointing to have to take responsibility for AMRON's mistakes.
- THE ONE YEAR WARRANTY DOESN'T COVER ANYTHING. My mistake of assuming I move in and AMRON will take care of little issues like this coming up and if they didn't that the parts and materials warranty would cover it.
BE AWARE if you are or plan to build with Amron. Don't sign a move in sheet until everything is complete and hold them accountable to complete work before getting paid. Once money was out of my account, the service was also. Sad reality. But according to Warranty the work is "within performance standards" Which apparently AMRON setting the standard is the bare minimum standards to pass the warranty inspections. Slap paint on and it will pass.
This stuff may seem straight forward and more experienced building customers would have likely been more aware, but if I had of seen a review like this prior to moving forward with AMRON, I definitely would have been able to cover myself better or go with a more trusted local builder. read more
