The 4 stars are for the hard working pharmacy workers not the Lazy Rude 24 hour medical team next to them. I've been quite sick and asked the 24 hour medical team if there was something they could suggest. Dismissive Rude is the only way I can describe them! FYI be aware maps shows them open 24 hours but the shop with the meds does not open until noon. Would have been a easy 5 stars but I waited 40 min for them to open after they said come on over when I called at 11am The staff when opened were great they suggested two medications and advice on how to use EXCELLENT-very friendly even though 30 people rushed in at noon But if you need medical care from staff next door in same space do yourself a favor and go elsewhere snobby rude pricks reside there sadly. DOUBLE PLUS GOOD (This review is for AMSTERDAM CENTRAL PHARMACY) If you have frequented pharmacies in the UK, France, America, Italy, Australia, Canada, and indeed other places you will feel at home. Amsterdam Central Pharmacy is a "well-stocked medicine shop" (for cough drops, aspirin, pain relieving gel, shampoo, dandruff treatments, nail clippers, toothbrushes and more). Many "pharmacies" is the Netherlands are just "medicine shops" or a "pharmacy lite" What many pharmacies in the Netherlands are prescription drug dispensaries. (Be warned: like most European countries, one cannot show a foreign prescription or pill bottle to get pharmaceuticals. Customers from Africa, Asia, many countries in South America and other regions will be surprised!) The store is well laid out and well stocked. You should be prepared to wait at times: its location ----- next to a doctor's office and in a mainline train station -----mean there are often lines. Waits shouldn't be more than 10 - 12 minutes. My first go to? Amsterdam Central Pharmacy. Please note that like many stores in The Netherlands and the rest of Europe at opening times are off by as much as 90 minutes. The employees here are friendly, knowledgeable, and work hard. I honestly appreciate their hard work , kindness, integrity and expertise. I have had over all a positive experiences here. There is maybe one employee in the pharmacy section that was rude and condescending a few times but other then that most of these employees are excellent in their performance. I won't let one bad apple be a reflection of the rest of the wonderful employees. read more

This doctor's office is completely unfunctioning. Online, there are rarely any appointments available in the coming week(s), and when you try to call them you will be at best waiting 45 minutes, and very often wait one hour until being rejected. Some times I had to try to call 4 times waiting 1h each time before getting an answer, often rude and unhelping. Even when I am trying to change my house doctor to finally leave this office that made me barely see a doctor for the past 6 years, they are not answering for the sending of my patient file, blocking the process for me to leave. It is completely not understandable how they can function. I wonder why they would not make drastic changes if they are not able to function with their current number of patients. This is definitely the worst healthcare experience of my entire life. read more

Went to them while on vacation with what I thought was a sprained ankle. Turned out to be a stress fracture of my fibula. Doctor had nothing to offer. No ace bandages, no boot, no crutches, no x-ray. Spent the rest of the vacation with a cane I bought from a pharmacy until I got home. Then I got the boot;) read more

This was my GP for the better part of 2 years. The first year was alright but then my second year with them was horrible. Every time I was sick I would call for an appointment and after waiting on the line for 40+ minutes they would tell me they had no appointments for over a week. I don't understand what kind of GP would make a sick patient wait for over a week to get treated. Not to mention the emails and forms I would also send to get an appointment which they never bothered replying to. In a couple of instances I would have an appointment and the front desk office would make a mistake and tell me I wasn't scheduled. It's a shame because the doctors are competent and really good but the secretaries/front desk workers are truly incompetent and do not care at all. read more

Don't go here if you're someone that uses a phone in your normal day to day life. The pharmacist yelled at me twice because I was looking at my phone. She wasn't at her post so I stood in line for the checkout counter because I thought they could help me. The pharmacist approached me yelling that I was looking at my phone and not paying attention to where I should be. Then she refused to fulfill my prescription. It was bizarre but I'd say avoid this place if you like to be treated decently. read more

I had a terrible experience there. My husband and I were on the escalator going up when someone in a big rush ran up past us and pushed him right back into me, Then he continued to fall backwards onto the escalator. We were both struggling to get up, and an agent stopped the escalator. His leg was all sliced up, my face was bleeding. This agent showed no concern, did not ask if we were OK, just told us she couldn't turn the escalator back on and we'd have to walk up. Mind you, we are not youngsters. We hobbled to the top and realized we needed first aid. His pants were torn and his knee was bleeding. It was sliced in three places.My face was bleeding from where my glasses had been rammed into my face when he was pushed back onto me. There was no one around to help us, and no one showed any interest at all. We did find the doctor's office, but it was 9:50 and they didn't open until 10.. I knocked on the window to see If someone would help us. A woman (turned out to be the receptionist), came to open the door and told us there was nothing she could do about it, and to go sit down and wait. I said he was bleeding, and we had to catch a train, and she just shrugged like "who cares?" So we waited, and meantime a few other people gathered at the door. And she took them first, as if intentionally trying to make us wait.(Not one was in any sort of emergency situation). Finally they got to us, and my husband told her that he had been knocked down on the escalator. This woman told him, "That's why you're not supposed to run in the station!!" He is 70 years old!! He repeated, " I told you I was knocked down on the escalator." Well they put a Band-Aid on his leg and then charged us €50. On the way out the door she said to him again, "Be more careful!" So at that point, being from New York, I told her off , as I am not as polite as my husband. And on the wall behind this woman's desk was a sign asking for feedback but it said @ "the site of your choice!!" I wish I knew where to send my feedback. This woman was about 45-50 with long hair brown with blond highlights. Watch out for her if you need first aid in Centraal Station In Amsterdam. read more

UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE! Do not waste your time and energy here. I´ll make bullet points so it is easier, there we go: 1) Receptionist are unpolite, you arrive with a "hello, good morning" and the answer is "Do you have appointment?" 2) When you do have appointment and you let them know you are here, you wait 15 minutes after your appointment time to go in (that happened in the first visit) 3) on the second visit, i waited for over 45 minutes, turns out they FORGOT to tell the doctor I was there for my appointment. 4) Two doctors reading on the computer the results of one of my tests. Two doctors googling (!!!) what could it be. Final answer, "we don't know what to tell you" 5) They promised to send urine tests to a laboratory. I am still waiting for results (no matter when you read this...read number 8) 6) First week after the urine test: "We have not sent it because it does not seem urgent" 7) Second week after urine test: "We sent it but we have not received results yet." 8) Third week after urine test: "Actually we never sent your urine test." 8.1) It was the SAME receptionist lady that told me those three things. THE SAME PERSON. A LIAR!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS!!??!?!?! And on top of that they are trying to make ME feel bad for being angry and frustrated because I DO NOT KNOW WHY I WAS PEEING BLOOD! 9) They never apologized for their unprofessionalism and bad service. 10) Receptionist likes to hung up the phone on me. (but hey, sometimes she threatens before doing it, sometimes it comes as a surprise.) Trust me guys, go somewhere else. Anything will be better, anything.
