I was able to make a same day appointment and I was in an out rather quickly. The assistant was very friendly and helpful and the doctor was open to answer my questions. So never having a real say in who I wanted my GP to be I could not have been happier with the choice made by my agent. It has now been over 5 years and I have heard many of my friends complain about the healthcare in the Netherlands. Well ladies and gents, if you want: - to be listened too -don't want absurd waiting times for appointments - don't want to feel rushed during your appointment - action taken on your behave - feel like you are being taken seriously Then this is your place! I can't speak for all the GP's there but my GP Dr. Linnebank is a trooper. To give you all a clear example: I fell down the stairs at work and couldn't put down my foot anymore. The first aid consultants at work had urged me to go to the hospital or see my GP. So I called the Center the assistant was super understanding and soothing. She listened to my story and then told me to come over as soon as I could even though the Dr. was busy and my fall wasn't exactly live threatening she would make sure that he would see me quickly in between. When I got there (carried in by my cab driver ;) )She sat me down and called my GP who was in another appointment. After a short wait he finished his appointment and helped me straight away even though the waiting room was full. He assessed my foot and body to make sure I didn't have any other injuries. After which he concluded that he wanted me to go to the hospital, so he called the hospital himself to make sure they knew I was coming and could be helped quickly. About 4 weeks after all this I went back to see my GP as my foot wasn't getting any better. If any it was getting worse and I couldn't stand on it. Again I was helped quick. My GP concluded that he didn't agree with the specialists in the hospital and wanted me to go and see the specialist again. He picked up the phone himself and called the specialist directly in the hospital. The specialist argued that I just need to see a fysio but this answer wasn't good enough. My GP insisted that they have to reassess and a couple days later I have an appointment again. Now for Dutch standards this kind of personally help is rare and it is what sets this health-center apart from other GP offices. Only negative: the main entrance is not accessible by car, so in this case and not being able to walk was a bit of an issue.

Great doctors! I had problems with several gps here in Amsterdam and after finding this place…read more(which is close to my house) I was very happy. Coming from another country it's difficult to adapt to a different medicine style and practices, but I had no problems here. The doctors always listened to me instead of dismissing me. They have been very interested and always do their best to explain everything to me. :) although I have my own gp here I've had appointments with many of their other docs! The place is super clean and organized, friendly staff and nice waiting room.

This is about the Ooesterpark 62 location which has no presence here on Yelp. I'm so angry I don't…read morecare. We can port this review onto the Ooesterpark location as soon as they deign set up a place for me to do so. I had heard that this was a good choice for an expat as they understood international issues well. They refused to prescribe "specialist" medications (do not read opiates/benzos into this... it was nothing addictive. Anti-depressants ect.) and instead referred me to appropriate specialists. OK. Not cool. But OK. None of those specialists were able to get me into their clinic due to the long waiting lists. My meds ran out. I became non-functional. I pointed this fact out in an appointment. The doctor was firm that no medication bridges would be written. The only specialist I was able to see in a reasonable time period was across the city. The doctor neglected to point out that this was the one clinic in the city that was not covered by our insurance... Also, there were two occasions that they made an appointment then "lost" it. The second time I showed them the appointment confirmation e-mail and they STILL turned me away. They had me send my medical information by E-Mail. BY FREAKING E-MAIL! Are there no patient data protection laws in this country? I tried to bring in a hardcopy or offer them a disk. They would take neither. So I sent medical records in by E-Mail. Then when I sent it they lost it. Then when I resent it, the doctor never had any idea what was in the document... so I don't know why they forced me to compromise my data in this way. Funzies I guess.

The doctors as well as the staff are friendly and accommodating. They'll take you here if you're not a regular. You can call them to make an appointment or schedule one online. You will have to pay for your visit after you're done. It's easy to find being right next to Westermarkt church.

I've been quite sick and asked the 24 hour medical team if there was something they could suggest. Dismissive Rude is the only way I can describe them! FYI be aware maps shows them open 24 hours but the shop with the meds does not open until noon. Would have been a easy 5 stars but I waited 40 min for them to open after they said come on over when I called at 11am The staff when opened were great they suggested two medications and advice on how to use EXCELLENT-very friendly even though 30 people rushed in at noon But if you need medical care from staff next door in same space do yourself a favor and go elsewhere snobby rude pricks reside there sadly. DOUBLE PLUS GOOD…read more (This review is for AMSTERDAM CENTRAL PHARMACY) If you have frequented pharmacies in the UK, France, America, Italy, Australia, Canada, and indeed other places you will feel at home. Amsterdam Central Pharmacy is a "well-stocked medicine shop" (for cough drops, aspirin, pain relieving gel, shampoo, dandruff treatments, nail clippers, toothbrushes and more). Many "pharmacies" is the Netherlands are just "medicine shops" or a "pharmacy lite" What many pharmacies in the Netherlands are prescription drug dispensaries. (Be warned: like most European countries, one cannot show a foreign prescription or pill bottle to get pharmaceuticals. Customers from Africa, Asia, many countries in South America and other regions will be surprised!) The store is well laid out and well stocked. You should be prepared to wait at times: its location ----- next to a doctor's office and in a mainline train station -----mean there are often lines. Waits shouldn't be more than 10 - 12 minutes. My first go to? Amsterdam Central Pharmacy. Please note that like many stores in The Netherlands and the rest of Europe at opening times are off by as much as 90 minutes. Give yourself plenty of time to be on the safe side!
