The highway is well maintained, nice and smooth. There are a sufficient number of exits and rest areas, though there are entirely too many places for the Maine State Police to hide and run speed. I was only going 9 above in some places and since I was still being passed by others, I figure I was in good shape. Hooray for E-Z Pass. Great to be able to not have to dig around for cash and wait in a queue. Boom, just drive through and you're good. Our tour guides Julie and Peter had a wealth of information to share. We were able to go inside a couple of the very old homes we learned about. We happened to book the tour on the 3rd day of the new season, so there were only three of us, which was nice! I highly recommend. Oh, and if you are driving, there is a public pay lot on the right, just as you enter the square by Alisson's Restaurant. It fills up, so get there before lunch and snag a spot.

As our tour group visited each restaurant, we got a side of Kennebunkport history and the insider scoop as to where all of the locals dine. Marlene Brooks is an exceptional host and tour guide. She is a 13th generation Mainer and provided such detail about each local spot including the history behind our food. Her professionalism and Maine pride was evident throughout the tour. The ticket price for this experience was around $145. In my opinion, it is well worth the price because it is an opportunity to meet new people, learn more about Maine, and try different restaurants. Marlene took our group to some restaurants that my friend and I didn't know existed. Some advice would be to arrive on the tour hungry because you get to try so many delicious plates. By the end, my friend and I were full. Below please find some of the places we visited and the food we enjoyed: 1. Fiafia - mixed berry smoothie 2. Alisson's - lobster roll (you get a choice between three - the original, lemon garlic, or lobster chowder) 3. Federal Jack's - clam chowder with potatoes and a sample of beer 4. Mornings in Paris - whoopie pie and a choice of coffee or select tea 5. The Pilot House - fried haddock bites 6. Bar Harbor Cheesecake - cheesecake sample (can have more than one) This foodie tour encouraged me to try other food tours when traveling to new places. I'd called in the mid morning for a pick up at 1:30 PM that same day, and he agreed to take me. He was prompt, very pleasant, and was a careful driver. Traveled again with him just recently and would recommend highly. New, spacious and clean car. It is outfitted with an enclosed rooftop luggage rack, and the suv looks like it sits at least six. Anyway, glad I found steve. A real lifesaver.

Breakfast buffet was included in my rate but I decided to venture out so I can't speak to how that was. They have in/out valet parking for $45 overnight, which made having a car really easy. Our room a King street view with great people watching. We found the room to be quiet, clean and very comfortable for 2 people. Our bathroom had good pressure and no issues with the hot water. I have to say, the towls were very soft. I would highly recommend the hotel as the total comfort of value (we paid $300-400 ea night), location & great staff.

They have a gift shop downstairs which has a coffee machine in there! so fresh coffee anytime you wanted, wish they had told me at check in, I didn't know till 3rd day when I went in exploring. Pool was great for the kids, shuttle was wonderful for pick up and drop off for the airport, make sure to schedule you return to the airport at least a day in advance with the front desk! We arrived at 4pm (Sat) so we could have parked at a meter spot (plenty in front of hotel) for two hours for $4 since meters are free after 6pm and Sundays.

The microwave is in the hallway. There is no coffeemaker in the room but there is a community coffee stand until 8 pm. The included breakfast was the same every day with the exception of the muffins. Hard boiled eggs, toast or English muffins and an assortment of cold cereals were served buffet style each day. We found out on the last day you had to ask for steel oats if you wanted them! For the most part the staff was pleasant with the exception of a few. I would not recommend this Inn to anyone. Nor would I stay there again.
