There is pickup and drop off parking on the street in front of the station. It was busy, but we got there early enough to find a space. We were picking up friends arriving from Fort Lauderdale. Outside, there's seating and a bicycle rack. Inside, downstairs, there are a couple seats, and a sanitizer station, and bathrooms. Also inside downstairs, is a posting with all the trains for that day organized by direction and routings. They also tell you whether the specific train is on time or not. When I came in to check out the station, I was immediately greeted and welcomed and offered assistance. Those that need help are directed to the customer service desk. To access the trains, you need to go up the escalator right next to the service desk. Inside, everything was spotlessly clean and comfortably air conditioned. It was suggested that you download their app for the easiest convenience. Our friends liked their trip experience so much, that they plan to take Brightline to Orlando sometime.

This has been my go-to mode of transportation lately when traveling to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport or Miami International Airport. Parking is simple, the staff is knowledgeable, and prices are low (typically $6-$10 max). It's also easy to navigate with luggage and small children. As with any situation these days, you must stay vigilant and aware of your surroundings while traveling, but I've honestly had no issues. This is not a luxury experience but it is cost effective. I would definitely recommend taking advantage of the low-cost public transportation we deserve as tax-paying citizens.

The Seaboard Air Line Railroad was an American railroad which existed from April 14, 1900, until July 1, 1967 when it merged with the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad. AIr Line does not refer to air travel but instead is a common term for the shortest distance between two points. The railroad operated 4,000 miles of track running from Richmond, Virginia down through Jacksonville and ending in West Palm Beach. Solomon Davies Warfield, chairman of the Seaboard Air Line Railroad at the time, extended the railroad further into South Florida to Miami in 1925 and to Homestead in 1927 where it ended. Solomon Davies Warfield was the uncle of Bessie Wallis Warfield Simplson, the woman whose love affair with King Edward forced him to abdicate the throne. This train station, like all of the Seaboard Air Line Stations, was designed by architect L. Philipps Clarke. It opened on January 25, 1925 with the arrival of the Orange Blossom Express, a train that ran from 1925 to 1953 between New York and Miami in the winter. This was one of 40 stations built around this time frame for the railroad. The Mediterranean Revival style building was built by the largest firm in Palm Beach, Harvey & Clark. The train station was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 19, 1973. In 1988 the City of Palm Beach purchased the building. After a 4.3 million dollar renovation the station was reopened in a ceremony attended by Florida's governor in 1991. Only two of the Seaboard Air Line Stations have been destroyed. The Boynton Beach station was torn down in 2006 and the Delray Station was destroyed by arson a few months ago. Thanks to the care taken by the City of West Palm Beach, this majestic station still maintains it's beauty today while serving Amtrak and Tri Rail travelers.

Flying home, my flight was delayed but there were plenty of places to sit and I was able to use my laptop and charge my phones. There were places to eat and drink, as well as newsstands for snacks and sundries. Not a ton of options, but plenty if you're there for just a brief time. I can't fault it. If visiting Florida is your thing, this is a good gateway.

I'm only through this airport once a year when I visit Florida, so I don't know when that change happened. I think there could be more food options in this airport as a whole, where each concourse only has a handful of things aside from Hudson News or similar such stands. There is consistently Starbucks in each concourse. Bathrooms are pretty ample and kept clean. I would be curious to know if they have convenient travel between concourses, whether you have a connection in the airport or just want to get food from somewhere else. It doesn't appear there is, unless you head back to the main security area. I think this could be a major improvement to the airport if they made travels between concourses a little more convenient, or if there is, to have better signage for it.

The only way to cross from one to the other is to walk to Lake Worth Road and cross the tracks along the street. This is a real bummer for anyone with luggage and perhaps an impossibility with anyone with assisted devices or mobility issues. With no notices about this on the Tri-Rail website or at the station or the parking lots about this, people - like me!- get dropped at the main, huge parking lot on the east side, only to find out by trial and error that they should have gotten dropped off on the other side. I even checked the tri-rail website beforehand to see if any notices were up about this- and when I saw none, I assumed the construction had finished since my last tri-rail use. Nope! I watched others struggle with their luggage to get to the other side. Please add signage and notices in-person and online.

The service operates with an app very similar to Uber/Lyft. The service is generally Free unless you plan a trip to the beach. There is a fee for that ride. The service uses GEM electric vehicles - overpriced golf carts. The ride is surprisingly comfortable and safe. It has no air conditioning but it does keep you out of the rain. Great affordable service. Remember to tip the driver. NOTE: Remember this is a ride share service.... expect to wait.

Shortly after, the driver called and assured me he would arrive in 15 minutes. Despite this, by 5:20PM the driver still not arrived, forcing me to cancel the ride after waiting over 50 minutes. BTW I got a ride home with a colleague and there was no traffic in Palm Beach and no traffic over the bridge and along Flagler Drive. This level of serivce is unacceptable. Accurate wait times and reliable service are basic expectations. You either need to hire more drivers to significantly improve you system so customers are not misled and left waiting indefinitely. This has occurred many times.
