The food is good, they have a large selection of beers, but it cam be quite noisy.

This is a sports bar kind of place with a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Lots of locals go here because of the wide selection of beers on the menu. Haven't tried the food so can't comment on that. They have table service for drinks or you can order at the bar. read more

I echo the sentiments of the other reviewers - this is great pub and not full of hooligans as you would expect of a sports pub (well, this is Norway I guess...) It's the type of place where you could have a quiet ale and some pub grub or get here a bit later for a good night out. It's in a pretty lively and central part of town so you can include it on a bar/pub hop night. I had the fish and chips (162 NOK) and it was really good. The fish was melt in your mouth and the batter was really light and crispy. It's served with a generous pot of very very good tartare sauce too which was a deviation from the usual tiny dish or crap tartare sauce the usually accompanies fish and chips. It comes with mushy peas on the side...mmmmmm..... The chips were french fries - like the frozen ones - so that was a bit of a let down. Really good service. They are friendly people here. Amazing place for a beer and a bite. Norwegian take on an English pub. Burger was awesome. The house pale ale and sort flamme (smoky porter) are both very well crafted beers! The only thing better was the friendly service, answering endless tourist questions from us. read more

I really enjoyed this pub near to Radhuset in Oslo. It was a business lunch, so we were not able to try the craft beer. The service was great and we had a variety of dishes. I had the Bangers and Mash. Fantastic!! I would highly recommend. Need to return to try the pub properly. Their website has the whole menu and a lot more information. read more

This place is very unassuming - it kind of looks like your typical sports bar, but the beer selection here is much better than other bars we found. They seemed to have a nice variety of flavors and brews, so it would be pretty hard to walk away empty-stomached here. I also had a chance to get their fish and chips while I was here; it was really not a bad dish. Our waiter was on top of things even though it was busy and he made time to double-check the ingredients in something for me because of my food allergies. He also let us do tastes of the beers we wanted to try (this doesn't seem to be a typical service offered throughout Scandinavia). I highly recommend stopping by. read more

This pub was right around the corner from our hotel and we were lucky enough to snag outdoor seating during an early summer evening. We got a few pints and needed some small bar bites so we got a delicious starter of scallops and split Amundsen Burger (brioche bun, with caramelized onion, smoked cheddar and fries). The restaurant was packed when we arrived and we were told there wasn't room, and then a large table got up and left. We asked if we could sit there, the hostess rolled her eyes and then said "ok". When we sat down she then gave us menus and told us that we could only choose from 3 entrees on the menu and that 3 of us MUST order hamburgers. I said "why are there so many inconveniences, really pisses customers off?" She then snatched the menu out of my hands and said "well you don't have to be here." Great selection of beers. Tried a local brew and it was delicious. The food is tasty as well, definitely get some mussels. For foreigners just a note it is quite expensive, two meals and two beers totaled $75.00. As long as you are prepared for the price definitely a place to visit and have some beer in Oslo. read more

After trying to live cheap over the past week, we decided to splurge and try this place when in Oslo. It did not disappoint. We started with salmon, pickled beets, chevre, bread, and fennel. This was superb. For main dishes I got the mac and cheese, and my husband got the bangers and mash. Maybe it was the good beer taking, but I devoured the mac and cheese (and I don't even like mushrooms) and the bangers and mash were so full of flavor from herbs and beer-gravy--just superb. Like I said, the beer was also quite good. The "american" pale ale and IPA did not taste so much like the American versions but were tasty nonetheless, and the saison was spicy and citrusy. Very good. Finally, the double cask aquavit, our first try at aquavit--was soooooo tasty. So much vanilla flavor and other botanicals. And the service was wonderful. Our waitress was very busy but took care of us, nonetheless. Come here. Seriously. You won't regret it. read more

This is the only real restaurant my husband and I visited while in Oslo, because of course it's crazy expensive and we didn't feel like shelling out $200 a day on food. We only came here to treat our couchsurfing hosts to thank them for putting us up on their couch. Fortunately this wasn't too exorbitantly expensive (in comparison to other restaurants) and the food was really good. Both my husband's and my beer were great, and I definitely go back just for a drink. I had a daily special, a Spanish stew, which was very thick and hearty. It looked like a small portion but was so rich (in a good way) I couldn't finish it. Fortunately I have a husband who is a vacuum cleaner so good food never gets wasted. He had a pulled pork sandwich that would rival any I've had at BBQ joints in the states, so that's saying a lot. I highly recommend this place if you want hearty food that will only partially break the bank, which is all one can hope for when visiting Oslo! read more

Had the chilli burger as recommended in other posts and it is was really delicious. The local ale fits perfectly to the burger.
