To begin with, Journey Church is a pretty big church with lots of visitors. They have plenty of parking and there are volunteers directing traffic. There is a tent for new visitors with lots of information. I got there while worshipping was happening and I felt the spirit through their songs. I loved how at home I felt by this. This review is not meant to endorse or critique a place of worship or services. I visited the auditorium for a concert on Friday. The lobby was small, but still nice with decorations. I didn't see any concession stands, so we ate somewhere else before the event. When we got to our seats, we noticed that our tickets weren't checked, even at the entrance. We sat in our assigned seats anyways, which was at the balcony. The seat was a typical arena style seat, but it was comfortable enough. The AC inside was cold and perfect. Looks like the venue is able to hold about 2000 guests. We had no issues viewing the orchestra and the monitors there. The bathrooms in the balcony area was small and only accommodated a couple people at a time, so there was a little wait. Though, it was pretty clean. Other than the security screening, we didn't see much staff at the venue. Wasn't sure whether the screening was common at the venue, or requested by the concert people, but the security staff were mostly polite and professional. They did however, leave immediately after the show. There was staff to help with parking and heading to the venue, but that was it. Parking was free and ample, so it was a plus compared to other venues. For a concert, I would visit the venue again. However, I would be aware of the lack of concessions inside, security screening requirements to enter, and not much staff indoors. But the free parking, comfortable seating, and great AC makes this a nice choice.

Awesome church! I haven't actually been to a normal service on Sunday, but I have just completed…read moremy first year of BSF (Bible Study Fellowship). They host the men's BSF class for Orlando. We meet there, in the main sanctuary, on Monday nights and then break into small groups for a while. We finish in the sanctuary for the lecture and then get the notes & lesson for the next week on our way out. It's a great way to study the bible. It's an interdenominational group of guys, in fact only a small percentage of them actually attend First Baptist of Winter Park for normal worship. I plan to go to a normal service this summer, during our off season. BSF runs during the school year and they provide free day care while we are in the main session. They have children's leaders that teach the kids of all ages the same lesson that we study, just in a different way. There's no excuse not to do BSF. They have classes in every major city all over the world so if you travel for work, or if you are on vacation, you can just email the class administrator ahead of time and they will set you up with a small group. It's crazy, you do the same lesson where ever you are. The organization was founded by women and is still mostly women, so there are plenty of options for the ladies that are interested. Child care is provided and they have both daytime and night classes in just about every city. First Baptist Church of Winter Park has hosted the men's class here in Orlando for over 14 years! They are great. If you are looking for a solid church, with good leadership, check out First Baptist of Winter Park. Finally,​ we buckled down and made the resolution that in 2019 we MUST feel that God was calling us to the church during our first attendance. Low and behold January 7th we stepped into Celebration and never looked back. I mean come on with a belief system of: We are all about Jesus. We are welcoming. We are authentic. We are diverse. We are intentional. We are faith-filled. We are participators. We are generous. We are others-focused​. Where can you possibly go wrong? Anywho onto the main points. Currently,​ the church is meeting at two locations of Howard Middle in downtown and Edgewater High in College Park. The vision is to be good financial stewards and raise enough capital for a permanent location. Get ready to be seriously welcomed at our church from the parking lot all the way to when you leave. Let's​ talk about​ safety. Children's​ ministry has a police officer always on duty at the entrance along with two other officers and tons of security from all backgrounds of life spread randomly throughout the church. Doors are locked at all times and check-in and check-out procedures for children are tight-knit with identification badges out before you can even go in the direction of children's​ ministry. Don't​ have little ones? No biggie there is Sub 30 available for young adults and RIOT. RIOT is a place where middle and high school teens can hear a message geared specifically for their audience. More importantly,​ they can meet during the week for groups​ intentionally​ designed with them top of mind. You can tell when a message is truth when you're​ turning the pages of your bible or looking at the verse available on the projector often. Come prepared to read from the bible and unpack it with our pastors, the Phillips. Don't​ forget to get your weekly dose with community groups. Celebration​ understands we shouldn't do life alone and we have nailed down all sorts of groups from coffee to fitness, and even brunching on how we can spread the word of God. You would NEVER guess this church is located in a middle school because they dress up & transform this beautiful building so much. The worship is so talented/AWESOME and very different than anything I've ever experienced... I feel like I should be paying to get in, that's how great it is! I also feel extremely safe because they have security and deputies everywhere. Did I mention the free coffee yet? Yep, free and delicious coffee from Credo. They also invite the homeless in and treat them so well, it makes me feel honored to go here. It's definitely a trendy scene with lots of young people but they have groups and other opportunities for every age and every walk of life. They do so much for the community and it's members with Jesus being at the center. They have so many ways to get connected so you don't get lost in the crowed, which usually happens in big churches. I am forever grateful to find my church home that makes doing life alone impossible. If you're in Orlando on a Sunday you've gotta check this place out!
