Hello everyone! Grace & peace be to you in the name of our mighty Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. I will waste no time & just jump into why I'm posting. I used to attend Cornerstone Baptist church many years ago when David Downs was the head pastor & got saved there & was slowly growing in my walk as a baby Christian at the time. Months later, I fell into sin & when discovered by the then associate pastor Charlie Vasquez, I turned to Christ & repented of that sin. I would later request a meeting with the elders that consisted of Marc Brashear, Charlie Vasquez, Edgar Nazarrio & Ben, to speak on my repentance & to reconcile with the church in which they defiantly gave strong push back by saying they didn't believe my repentance was genuine & when I gave them the example of Christ & the 99 sheep, they proceeded to tell me that I was not a part of the flock so I would not be considered one of the sheep. After laboring with them for what appeared to be over an hour that day, telling them how much I loved them & to forgive me & how much I desired to reconcile with them, they sat there stiffnecked, told me I needed to be delivered to Satan for a time & I'll never forget what Edgar Nazarrio chimed in & said to me right after this.....he said to me: "hey man, if we don't reconcile here, we can always reconcile in heaven!"(And Yes, he was very serious). After that, I conceded to the fact that we weren't going anywhere, so I thanked them for their time, got up, respectfully shook their hands & peacefully left the church & went home. But what was absolutely shocking was what happened the following week at service. I was told by one of the members at the time who was there & still kept in touch with me, that Marc Brashear announced to the congregation that in the meeting they had with me, that they tried several times to bring me to repentance but I was exceedingly angry & refused to repent so they had no choice but to put me out of the church & deliver me to Satan in hopes that one day I will repent. These men have repeatedly lied to their congregation over & over again & have misused scripture for their unbiblical narrative on how they handle Christ's' flock regarding ex-communication. They don't have a relationship with other churches & the church I currently attend now has been constantly slandered by cornerstone for many years & cornerstone refuses to meet with them also to discuss their differences & reconcile after several made but failed attempts by my church. Ladies & gentlemen, brothers & sisters in Christ, I implore you, do NOT attend cornerstone baptist church. The folks here defending it do not have a clue on what's really going on behind the scenes & have been conditioned to only believe their leadership no matter what. They are indeed legalistic & yes, it's all loving in the beginning but things will quickly change if there happens to be a slight glitch In their matrix in which they will constantly lord your sin over you & it won't matter if God forgave you or not. I heard there was yet another mass exodus from the congregation recently after it was discovered that the elders were in sin & honestly I'm not surprised. The Lord has been calling this church to repent as well but they're so steeped in the pride that rather than acknowledging their sin & repent, they double down & accuse everyone else of slandering them. Please pray for those who are still there & blinded by that leadership whom shouldn't be shepherding a flock anyway since they all should be disqualified due to being taught by David Downs who was disqualified himself due to sin. I truly believe there are some saved brothers & sisters at cornerstone but they're being led by wolves & my prayer is that the Lord will remove the scales from their eyes & give them discernment to be able to judge BIBLICALLY what is really going on before unbiblically placing judgment on other brothers & sisters they've never met before. They claim to be Christ church but they are the leader's church...: leaving is impossible as they will say you have no biblical reasons to depart fellowship... they treat church membership as a marriage covenant... still yet to see that in the Bible for the local church... yes we are In Christ so that applies to the universal church so it's legalism to say God calls you to love a local body and not the rest of Christ redeemed bc that lack relationships with local biblical churches in the area and If you leave you will be shunned. The leaders are divisive from the universal church ( Christ Bride) ... They claim to preach the "the gospel" is all heavy on the law and hell brimstone and no grace as well as add works with man made laws of legalistic practices taking away from the finished work of Christ. People's conscience are burdened with if they want to visit another church and miss attendance they are bashed with questions and accused of being in "unfaithful to the Lord" almost making you feeling like it is sin to go to another churches. Singles there remain single forever bc the elders need to approve your future spouse and if something in their theology does not align with their teachings they won't approve the courtship so leaving for that reason to find a spouse is unbiblical in their mind ( legalism) Most people who differ and raise questions or concerns to the leadership are accused of being divisive by twisting Romans 16:17-18 where that means only that church division is to not fellowship with false teachings in the contrary of what the apostles of Jesus taught... not if you disagree with the leaders. If you depart fellowship they demand you to met them in person and would not accept any other leadership from any other church to come with you to meet with them. If you fail to comply they will manipulate you and implement fear via emails or texts for you of becoming an apostate or by saying you will have external consequences if you leave without meeting them or returning their calls( which btw they will blow off your phone with calls and text messages from them and the congregation) As far as what God says in His word Christ is who holds believers fast by the Holy Spirit and He promises that He who started to work in you will complete it until the final day... The leadership is authoritarian and all are disqualified based on Titus 1:5-9, 1 Tim 3, 6 just to name afew ( I can go on with the scriptures.... ) I pray that all the leaders repent and step down for all the damage they are doing to the bride of Christ by marrying unbelievers with believers, disciplining and excommunicating saints who truly follow the Lord Jesus Christ and that God would be merciful with them as well as that the spiritual abuse stops I was a victim of manipulation, charges against me of "sin" for not agreeing with them in my convictions scripture warns me against them about and was shunned... Cornerstone didn't like the idea for me to become a "Reformation Bible College" student and was discouraged to do so..... up to today still have nightmares about the spiritual and psychological damage.... I can go on.... My prayer today: Lord please forgive them for they do not know that they are doing .... Their pride and self is the problem... which is what happened at the garden of Eden when the 1st Adam sinned and the entire world was cursed... I grieve for this place...:( read more

I've attended Cornerstone for at least 10 years. The pastors that shepherd the church are diligent in their studies and are loving in their correction. The Gospel is preached every Sunday (you can find the sermons on Sermon audio, YouTube, etc. if you want to check it out for yourself). I have seen the faithfulness of those who have attended, felt the love that they have for one another, and the joy the people have as they serve the body. I met my husband at Cornerstone. We got married (one out of four marriages that year) and had our firstborn while we were still attending the church. The Lord used Cornerstone to grow and sanctify me more into His image! I am so thankful for the years I was able to serve in this church! The only reason I'm not currently attending is because my family moved for one of Cornerstone's church plants. If you are looking for biblical preaching/teaching I highly recommend this church! I look forward to visiting whenever I'm in Florida. Remember my beloved brethren, it is a joy to suffer for Christ's Sake! Run the race with perseverance! For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. Cornerstone Baptist Church is a false church with preachers who are wolves in sheep's clothing. Beware of their abusive behaviors by love bombing you and sinking their claws into you as soon as you walk in. They do not genuinely care about you, once you notice the legalism and the heavy shepherding they will shun you and every "loving" relationship that you had with the members is over. The pastors at cornerstone are immature and unqualified to preach. They do not fall into the qualifications of 1 Timothy 3: 1-7: Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?) He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap." If you are looking for a church that loves God's word and His people than this is the church for you. Verse by verse teaching,small group throughout the week,great accountability,sweet fellowship,and sound teaching from God's word. The Lord has used this church to transform my walk with Him. I have never met a church like this where the love of God and His glory is the driving force of EVERYTHING....even through difficulties. Praise the Lord for this church. "But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God's will, than for doing evil." 1 Peter 3:14-17 read more

Discontentment breeds heresies. If you're not happy in any church then just leave, there's no need to slander the church you've left and to what end? Do you really believe this honors God, edifies the brethren or your friends? Scripturally, it is one of those things that the Lord hates? "For there is some danger of falling into a soft and effeminate Christianity, under the plea of a lofty and ethereal theology. Christianity was born for endurance; not an exotic, but a hardy plant, braced by the keen wind; not languid, nor childish, nor cowardly. It walks with strong step and erect frame; it is kindly, but firm; it is gentle, but honest; it is calm, but not facile; obliging, but not imbecile; decided, but not churlish." The Word of God is preached faithfully. The Elders take great care and pain to care biblically and with great patience and long-suffering in spite of many false accusations about them. The Elders are Christ followers in word and deed and the Lord sees their tireless hours in secret and will one day reward them openly. This church is faithful and does not follow men, but God. May the Lord continue to bless the teaching there, the love of the saints, the unity, the evangelism, the church plants, and so much more to the Glory of God. We have a short life to live. A Church that was divided by the current elders. Even after the division, are the elders considered above reproach and blameless? They choose to continue preaching as if nothing happened? Is the mindset "things are better than ever", "finances are better", "let's move on"? Where is the mind of Christ in that attitude? Should we ignore the sins of the elders? What about the precious souls that biblically confronted sin and now are being slandered, by the elders themselves (another sin)? Did bitterness close the eyes and ears many at CBC due to showing partiality? Sincere questions in love. Keep them in prayer. May the Lord give them ears to hear. May they repent and reconcile. read more

This is a true gift from the Lord to have a faithful local body of Christ that will seek to serve the Lord in all areas of life. Loving the Lord first because He first loved us. It's grieving that there are many who'd rather follow the desires of their own heart and not be committed to the work of the Lord as He commands us to worship Him. I've been going to Cornerstone for almost 7 years. I found a home when I was beat up, depressed, and my life was a mess. It's a church where I know everyone and they know me, and in that respect it has been unlike any church I had been to before. These people are very kind and welcoming. It's a Reformed Baptist church that sticks to Scripture and puts good doctrine into practice. Salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone is taught faithfully. read more

This is 100% a cult and I highly recommend you stay away. when you first arrive they love bomb you which may leave you to believe they're a welcoming community but it doesn't take long before you see what's truly lying beneath the surface. The pastors there are authoritarian and lording over the flock. There are plenty of faithful, biblical, and loving Churches in the area. Please, for the sake of you and your family, stay clear. read more

Our family loves this church! We're members of a small Reformed Baptist church (1689) in the West and have made this our home-away-from-home church as we travel to Florida. We have attended over a dozen times. Even some Bible studies and fellowships. The preaching is solid and edifying. The people are friendly and are lovers of Christ. We highly recommend! read more

I've been going to CBC since 2020 and I thank our Lord for guiding me to them. Amazing pastors and church members, very welcoming and they teach straight from the Bible. I love that they have live online streaming for Sundays when I'm out of town and also be able to watch past sermons. They offer men & women's small groups and numerous fellowships. read more
