I got a small tattoo on my foot 2 mos ago ,it was $100... i was unhappy with the way the ink took after healing (this is very common on foot tattoos). If I could give it more stars I would!! I've been wanting another tattoo for awhile now. I live in San Diego and have been searching and searching for that perfect someone! I've visited probably a dozen shops and talked to several artists but I just never felt completely comfortable. A friend of mine went on vacation to Washington and was taken into Anchored Art. She received a beautiful tattoo by an artist there. I knew instantly, by the work and the way she described the place that I needed to go there! I called the tattoo shop and exchanged a few emails. Then my boyfriend and I decided to take a trip and hoped on a plane to Spokane. We had never been before and didn't know what to expect. It's so freaking beautiful!!! We arrived at the shop, which is in a really cool location. We walked in and the first thing I noticed was how spotless the shop is. It's clean, smells good, is spacious, organized and has the most unique art pieces on the walls. It looks like a gallery. The staff is friendly and fun. Usually there's a certain (uncomfortable) vibe in tattoo shops, but not Anchored Art. The vibe was cool and calm and very comforting. It is very sanitary. You can tell they take sanitation very seriously. It's actually the only shop I've ever been to where they wear aprons. That is genius. Our appointment was with Jeremy. My boyfriend went first. He got a beautiful "life like" tattoo of a shark on his shoulder. Im not kidding, Jeremy was so detailed. It looks better than the photo that the idea was designed from. You could just tell how much pride he takes. I went next! I was a little nervous about it but the second I sat down and Jeremy showed me what he sketched from my idea, I was totally at ease. I got a flower with writing on my forearm. We chatted throughout the tattooing. Laughing and getting to know each other. When he was done I looked down and my eyes welled with tears, it was more amazing, beautiful and detailed than I would have ever imagined!!! While my boyfriend got tattooed I decided to get my nose pierced by Elishia. She did a great job and took sanitation very seriously as well. She even showed me that the needle was packaged, made sure I saw the piercing be sterilized and then explained to me how to clean and treat it. I couldn't be happier! We are beyond happy with the art work we both wear. We are so impressed by Anchored Art and Jeremy, that we have already booked October appointments for our next tattoos. I had a very unique experience with Anchored Art. To me, this experience just shows that this place is ran by people who genuinely care about the service they provide, and it's why I would highly recommend here. I got a basic tattoo here a few months ago from Reggie. The place was very clean, everyone was polite and professional, and the final tattoo was well done. I received a basic text tattoo that took about half an hour to complete, so I was expecting a relatively low price. Instead I was charged $200, which was absurd. Being the non-confrontational person I am, I simply paid and left. Instead, I later wrote a review here on Yelp discussing how I was overcharged. The owners, Jeremy and Megan, read my review and contacted me about a day later. Jeremy called me and talked about how he agreed that the price was way too high for something like that, and how very important it is to him that everyone has a pleasant experience in the shop. He refunded a large amount of my money to make it so that I paid a far more reasonable price for the tattoo, including the tax on it. It would have been very easy for the owners to simply avoid my initial review. One poor rating in a sea of five stars is most likely not going to have any effect on their business. Jeremy never once brought up me removing my review off of Yelp, showing he cared more about my memory of the place than what reviews said. That is something most businesses would not do, and it was a really comforting thing to know that they take all customer experiences seriously. If you're looking for a great shop with dedicated people who genuinely care about how you're treated, this is the best place you can find. read more

Only holding off on a rating of 5 because it was my first tattoo. I don't know how good it gets, but I don't think it could get much better than this. Jeremy took my appointment after hours on a Sunday night, accepted a design that I did in Photoshop and replicated it exactly, with spectacular results. It was only when he shrunk the design, made a stencil, applied it , and started inking, that I realized how technically difficult a challenge I'd handed him.... hair-fine lines, geometric precision, and incredible amount of detail - I started sweating bullets! One thing to lay it out in Photoshop and quite another to have inked into my arm - forever!!! Thank God Jeremy is good - very, very good. He handled it with aplomb. Quick, precise and tremendous attention to detail: he spotted a few tiny things I neglected to mention and incorporated them before I said anything. And this was after he'd already done two sleeves that day. In one area, neither of us liked the way the stencil looked on my skin, so I asked him to freestyle, and he did that great too. A perfect match for the rest of the design. I'd only change one thing if I could: I would have relaxed a little! Since it was my first, I was so tensed up that my elbow and wrist were slightly hyperextended, so the design is a little asymmetrical with my arm in repose, but that's not his fault. And the fact is that I'm made of living flesh, not pixels. Did I mention that he and his shop were clean, that he's a family man and both he and his assistant are natty dressers? I was originally going to have it on the front of my wrist, but I decided to go down the side of my arm. I'm so glad he decided that area instead. It's sooo much better! Although you might want to schedule wayyy ahead of time since I had to wait 3 weeks to get mine done, it was still worth the wait. I don't really like the fact that I have to deposit $50 for the tattoo and before the appointment but it goes toward your tattoo so mine costed about $150, as I believe at least. I have been tattooed exclusively by Anchored Art Artist Shayne Swenson for almost a decade now and I can honestly say that Anchored Art is the cleanest and most well-ran shop that I have ever been tattooed at. That includes many shops all over the U.S. and even some "bigger" names such as Hart & Huntington in Las Vegas. The staff is extremely professional and are all very talented **Note. I haven't been tattooed by anyone at Anchored other than Shayne but I've seen the other artists' work from hanging out at the shop and they are all exceptional** Another thing I have observed from hanging around the shop a bit is the crew at Anchored, despite their collective top notch work and talent, is very welcoming and do not have the typical "we're too cool for you" type attitude that a lot of shops with great (and not so great) talent tend to develop. They're willing to hear you out and work with you to develop a piece of art you can both be happy putting your name behind. Sure, most of the artists are booked out in advance but you never know when a same-day opening may come up and they won't make you feel like an idiot for asking. It has been quite some time since I was a "newb" at a tattoo shop but I can recall being treated like a second class citizen at several of the shops I got worked on back then. Getting tattooed can be an intimidating experience and I personally admire that the typical air of arrogance isn't alive at Anchored. Upon my horrific experience at Speakeasy Tattoo in Spokane Valley (see review), I was referred here and I'm so glad I came! Billy was my artist and he was fantastic. He was suuuuper nice and easy to talk to. I wanted to get a quote on my upper back in a font I found online. I brought in a blown up, not so great copy of what I wanted and he did a great job re-sizing and tracing the font into the perfect design. He asked me multiple times if I was happy with it, asked me to double-check the spelling, and wanted to be sure I was happy with the placement and that it was centered on my back. I SO appreciate him being so thorough. The tattoo itself only took about 30 minutes and am very happy with the way it turned out.
