It turns out that the good stuff is hidden in the store. Case after case of antique diamond and gemstone jewelry! We may need to visit Guilford and Co. every time I'm in town! I was surprised at how large this store is. The pieces are displayed well, grouped by era as well as stone type, as far as I could tell. I also couldn't believe how many Edwardian and Art Deco pieces they had on site. I mostly browsed the gemstone rings, but I'd imagine that this would also be a great place to purchase a piece with dreamy old cut diamonds! They also have a GIA GG on-site who is available to answer more detailed questions. Some standouts -- -a warm L/M round cut diamond in a glowing emerald halo with absolutely GORGEOUS tiny milgrain detail on the bezel -an intricate and HUGE Art Deco diamond brooch/pendant that I didn't dare try on -a high carat yellow gold ring set w/ a rich, dark amethyst cab -a fireball of an orange sapphire set in a halo ring -a blue moonstone ring set in an angular diamond and filigree halo -several Edwardian diamond rings in the central case, including what looked like a three-stone of old (mine?) cut diamonds in a filigree setting -and.... Well, I could go on and on, but I don't imagine anyone is actually still reading this. :) I should also mention that it is a very comfortable, low pressure environment to browse in. The SA was more than happy to dart from case to case, and even suggested different items for me to try on. She was friendly, informed, and very easy to get along with -- No fake nicety or condescension here. I actually told her directly that I'd used up all my "spending points" on jewelry this month, but she just kindly asked what I'd used them on and then continued letting me try on the pretties. Can't wait to make a return visit. I'm already (secretly, shhh) plotting another trip to St. Michaels.

They tie-dyed t-shirts, sculpted and painted a clay creation, did glass fusions and canvas paintings... She had a blast! The staff is very nice and will take the time to explain the process, techniques, and tricks to make your artwork a masterpiece. Pieces are ready to pick up after a week, or they can ship them to you if you're in town visiting. They also offer kids night out, ladies night, birthday parties, and other events.

It is a great activity to do with a friend, alone, or with kids. They have special events such as Kids/Teens Nights, Ladies Nights, and seminars for teaching things like pottery, glass, and others. If you are going just to paint pottery and not to a specific event, you can walk in anytime while they are open. It is set up so that there are a few interconnecting small rooms, which helps with the noise level. You choose the piece that you want to paint and someone will help you get set up. The cost is typically the cost of the piece + half of the cost of the piece as a service charge. The staff is very helpful and guide you through the process. The pieces get done by when they say they will and they package them for easy pick-up. The pieces are a little pricey but that's typical for these types of places.

I own one CLC17 kayak which I bought from a guy in Rhode Island. It's big and a little unwieldy, but light enough that I can get it up onto my Subaru alone. In the water, it does everything well except turn. I've taken it in Boston Harbor out past the light, and I've paddled it through 8" deep streams in late summer. It handles both well, and is really very fast. It's also enormous, and can hold lots of gear. The cockpit is roomy. As a wedding gift to my wife, I also built an Oxford Shell sculling single from a kit I bought from CLC. This was my first ever boatbuilding project, and close to my first woodworking experience at all. I was intimidated, but the kits make a ton of sense. All the wood is precut to the right shape, so you don't tend to screw up and waste expensive wood, but it still feels like you're the one who built the boat. If you read the directions carefully and take your time, just about anyone can do it. They're also very good with customer support, both business-wise and with boatbuilding advice. Now that it's done, the boat it absolutely beautiful, and it rows like a dream. The whole thing was accomplished for less than half what a new fiberglass shell would have cost, and for about 1/10th what a comparably beautiful wooden boat would have cost to buy. Can't say enough for these guys!

Bottom Line: Beautiful showroom offering country and modern styed curtains and great service…read more I really don't like any home décor that is "country" but I still shop at Country Curtains for their quality draperies. If you've been avoiding Country Curtains to curtail any country décor in your home, I welcome you to take a gander through the beautiful Annapolis showroom. Although many of their styles are country, you will find plenty of basic solids and some items with modern flair. No matter your style, you will get quality curtains here at a fair price. In addition to the curtains displayed, you can also get semi-custom curtains (ex. modifying a production curtain to add grommets) and custom curtains (whatever you can dream). But Country Curtains is more than just curtains; they also have lots of home décor including from pillows, throw blankets, rugs, Christmas ornaments. Despite the store being partitioned by faux windows, the staff is great about walking through the nooks and crannies of the store and seeing who needs help. The staff can hook you up with swatches and might even have what you are looking for in stock in the back room. What I like most about their product is the quality of the product. The drapes are always true to size so you don't have to worry about an 84" curtain being too short for the 84" rod. Also, I believe all of their drapes are lined and in some cases you have a choice of just a cotton lining or a blackout lining. If you find yourself chilly in the winter, you could even consider their insulating drapes. Finally, I'd like to note that I think the pricing here is fair. Semi-custom drapes here were less expensive than off-the-self drapes from Pottery Barn that were on sale.
