I never got the IV or water. Thank God, my wife traveled from Birmingham. We finally decided at 930 to leave. I asked them to take IV out because I was leaving. "Sure, no problem". They took it out and we left. I wasn't asked to sign anything or advised against it. THEN when my wife called to get a record of visit, she was met with attitude. Once we had possession of paperwork, hospital notes said we eloped against advice. That is a straight up lie. Hope I never have to go there ever again.

I was diagnosed with strep which I get frequently. I am allergic to penicillin and most in that family and instead of prescribing me something I usually take he prescribed something else and said if I have a reaction call and he'll change it. Again no biggie I have to test most meds since I'm allergic. We'll I leave and get to my pharmacy and they haven't filled it cause the pharmacist isn't comfortable with how close it is to a med I'm allergic to so they want to have him call and change it. I call they're office 3 times my mom calls once we're both transferred around to answering machines and jotted down notes. I couldn't tell you the names of the people I talked to cause when they answer they just say hello. They're office is now closed and my prescription still wasn't changed so now I have to wait till Saturday when they have weekend hours to call and again try to get him to call and change it. Terrible experience, I know the pain I'll be in tomorrow for not starting meds today. Wont be coming back

Once I was even asked a questionnaire that was something like 200 questions that were extremely sensitive, private and had nothing to do with the cold I had gone in to be treated for. Many inappropriate and very detailed questions about my sex life (or lack thereof). I don't know how they get away with it but I will be alerting the appropriate authorities.

From the emergency room through the ICU and onto the 6th floor, the care and compassion shown by the doctors, nurses, and staff was truly outstanding. I especially want to recognize Dr. Khan, NP Marie, RN Erin, RN Kaity, and RT Jeff, who were part of the ICU team caring for my father. Their professionalism, quick response, and dedication during a very serious situation made all the difference. They treated my father with dignity and showed genuine compassion not only for him, but for our entire family. I would also like to thank Coy and Allie on the 6th floor, along with everyone else who helped care for him during his stay. There were moments when my father's condition was extremely serious, and the teamwork, skill, and calm leadership of the staff at Rush Hospital played a major role in helping save his life. Our family is truly grateful for the care he received. A special thank you also goes out to Dr. Amanda E. Daho-Habeeb (Dr. D), who stepped in and personally made sure my father received the care he needed and helped guide him toward a strong recovery. And on a lighter note, I also have to say the hospital cafeteria was one of the best I've experienced in a hospital setting -- the Philly cheesesteak sandwich was excellent. I never met a nurse like her before so understanding, kind with love. Therefore I came back home with very gratefulness. Then police office Mr. Chad also explained nicely how to do in that situation.
