This is the second time we have used Anderson Restoration. They have communicated well and arrived at our home when it was scheduled. The first time they restored a leather recliner and repaired a tear in an expensive leather jacket. Both jobs were excellently done. So, we had them restore the top of a dresser which had water damage and it turned out to be a perfect match to the matching chest of drawers (see pics of before and after). We considered buying a new piece but the restoration was well worth it as it was an old but very good piece of furniture. They are very pleasant and helpful. I'm sorry to say our experience was not good. I contacted them to have a table top refinished. Deanna came and looked at it. We talked about options and she said she would talk to Mark and send us an estimate in a few days. We never heard a word so I finally sent an email asking about the estimate. No response to that. I understand that they might not want to do it but come on, just send an email saying that. Don't just ignore the people who contacted you. I gave the 2 stars because she at least came to look at it. These folks have now repaired a leather sofa for us twice in five years, doing just an incredible job both times. They are timely, well-equipped artisans who can match color perfectly, are pleasant to deal with, and charge a fair price for the level of work they provide. In hindsight, mark did not want to do this project; i wish he would have just turned the job down. he is no craftsman. my chairs have wood glue drips all over the joints (sloppy work!). he returned the chairs filthy &so much dust embedded in the newly upholstered fabric, i had to beat them for a week. the chairs are seriously uncomfortable to sit on. hurts after about 20 minutes. i specified these were intended for long-term sitting (family meals, homework, gatherings). he showed me the seat before he finished the project and i knew it wasn't going to be right; i respectfully asked him if he would make the seat larger, and of course i would compensate him for his time. he said, "not a chance." told me i wouldn't notice the issue (because attention to detail is not his concern), but i do notice. every day. such a disappointment. he had absolutely no interest or care about my satisfaction. the clincher that he threw out the fabric remnant because he said it was scrap. it was at least 30 in x 15 in. of naturally dyed, hand woven ikat from flores. anyone who cares about furniture or calls themself a restorer, would see the value in that fabric, especially for potential repairs that might be needed in the future. read more

Mark's work is exceptional! He repaired a tear in the car seat of my Subaru and when he was finished, you couldn't see where the covering had been damaged. He has the right equipment and supplies to achieve a perfect and undetectable repair. Mark's prices are fair for the quality of service. He does mobile repairs from his van at various car shops/dealerships in Santa Fe, which was very convenient for me. read more

My wife and I have used Anderson Restoration on a wide range of projects. Each time we have been extremely satisfied. Two of the simpler jobs repairing drawer corners and touching up the paint on some iron bed-frames damaged in shipping, were handled to perfection. We tried to stump them with an antique Cochiti drum but, once again, after some head scratching, they restored the leather to pre-damaged condition. I think they even surpassed their own expectations. Finally, the biggest challenge, a WPA dining table that had the corners chewed off by a dog. Once again, when they were finished, it was impossible to detect the previous damage. One of the nicest bonuses is that the Andersons, a husband and wife team, are two of the nicest people you are every going to meet. We strongly recommend them for your restoration needs. We have yet to discover what they can not do. read more

Mark did such an amazing job on my car console. The paint had worn off in several places and it looked awful. Looks brand new now! Also, he's the nicest guy...so quick and efficient too! I had a lot of damage and I was able to wait while he did the work. All of it took less than an hour! He did everything he said he'd do and more. Wonderful experience.
