I had…read morebeen searching and searching for a "serious" school for adult learners of Spanish as a second language that would also accommodate my tight work schedule and commute. This school is a hidden gem in Campbell. They bent over backwards to accommodate my schedule, offering me Saturday afternoon classes, and I have been extremely impressed by the professional level of instruction I have received by all the instructors. Before studying here, I had tried to learn Spanish at several other community schools for adults. I was constantly disappointed that the instruction was too relaxed at the other schools, there was barely any homework or progress exams, and most of the other students did not end up progressing past the beginning level. When I started studying at Vive La Experiencia, I could speak mostly only in the present tense, and had just started to learn the imperfect and preterit. Now I am fairly comfortable with the past, future, compound tenses such as present/past perfect, passive voice, and I am in the midst of further practicing the subjunctive, including imperfect and past subjunctive. My grammar, speaking, and comprehension have grown by leaps and bounds. Moreover, they tailor the instruction to your preferences. I wanted a lot of homework and progress exams, as well as emphasis on covering grammar, so I got it. Of course, all students are different and your class could be very different, depending on your preferences. During class, we also spend time listening to and translating popular and classic Latin American music, watching and discussing video/movie clips, and learning about cultural traditions such as holidays in Mexico and Latin America. I have had the opportunity to participate in several hosted social events where I was able to meet many native Spanish speakers, as well as other learners like myself. Of course, the highlight was my participation in the Immersion Trip to Puebla, Mexico in July of 2019. It was my first time ever visiting Mexico, and I was absolutely in love with the the city, the people, and the FOOD! I heard Spanish spoken everywhere and was astounded by how much I could already understand and communicate with the locals. We visited many churches, parks, historical sites, markets, and the best restaurants. It was great getting to bond with other students like myself. If you are looking to learn Spanish at any age (I am 44), I highly recommend classes at Vive La Experiencia. Your eyes will be opened to a whole new world of culture and experiences!

It's hard to progress in these big groups, especially if you want to get further than beginner level. Rosario and her team are doing a great job teaching the language in small to medium sized classes (3-6 students) and are trying to make sure that students get the most out of the class. You can also get private tutoring. Levels range from beginner to advanced. I like that it's not only about grammar, but also about the culture which is important to understand some aspects of the language. Hopefully I'll be able to become bilingual one day, it's still a long way, but I feel this school is my best chance to get there some day.

You can 'roll into' an ongoing group lesson or take individual lessons. The instructions are pretty reasonably priced and they offer you a lot of different language options. I took private French lessons prior to traveling to France and found the instruction very useful for my trip. I would gladly take lessons in the future when traveling abroad ( I think they teach Spanish, German, Chinese, etc). I am very happy to find "Andes Translations" through Yelp. I needed to have a French loan document translated into English. Since I only moved to San Jose 3 months ago, I didn't know where to look for help except YELPING! Although "Andes Translations" doesn't have many reviews on Yelp, all are very positive. I decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did! Isabel's service was highly effective! I had lots of questions so we swapped quite a few e-mails. To my surprise, only 10 minutes after I sent out my e-mails, there came her detailed responses! She was even willing to go the extra mile to satisfy customers' demands, ie getting your document notarized if requested! It was such a pleasant experience working with Isabel and her translation company! She helped me translate the words in my Learning Sticker Puzzle app from English to Spanish, and recorded all the voice in Spanish. Though she had never translated a game before, she was willing to give it a try and she did it really well! Isabel is very detail oriented with her work. She would point out areas where she had doubts with the original texts even if this was asked for. All my instructions were followed without any problem and she always offered her professional opinions whenever needed. There's a part of the work that requires voice recording, and she was willing to travel long distance to my location in order to make the result perfect! Before going to VN Link Solutions, my uncle referred me to some Vietnamese lawyer in the Vietnamese newspaper, I forget where this was in downtown San Jose somewhere, but they were trash. After getting a document they translated for me rejected by USCIS I was so upset. I then searched on Yelp to find VN Link Solutions and got connected with KyAnh. I explained to her what was going on she was able to get my wife's documents translated with a quick turnaround time being that I needed fast help at the last minute. KyAnh is a certified translator/interpreter backed by the DoD so that document is included with the translations (which gave me peace of mind). When my wife got her from Vietnam, KyAnh also took care of the translation for my wife's birth certificate (around January 2020) as my wife was going through the i-485 application for adjustment of status. Quick turnaround time for that also. A little over a week ago, my wife finally had her interview for the I-485 and KyAnh did an awesome job interpreting for her. KyAnh has been there with us since the beginning of this journey and was a great help getting us across the finish line! The only person I would recommend for translating and interpreting! She lied about herself. Unable to translate English to Vietnamese in a citizenship interview. Only by my hard work preparing ahead and divine help I was able to come through. Michelle did not , could not help because she did not understand or prepare for the test. Total failure, a scam artist that she is . Beware of these fake Vietnamese interpreters . I learned my lesson.

Would recommend them to anyone needing translation services. I was in urgent need of translating my marriage certificate from English to traditional Chinese. And by urgent, I mean on a Monday night ~4pm needing it the next two days. I reached out to Multilingual Technologies on Yelp for a quote, and they responded very quick, asking me to email them my document and they would give me a quote and turnaround time. After emailing them my document, I got a fast response with a $80 quote for the translation and notarization. Like how other reviews mention, their prices really are outstanding and cannot be beaten by other places around. The person I was talking to even offered to email me a proof of the translation by 11am the next day (Tuesday), and I could pick up the paperwork by Wednesday first thing in the morning when their office opens (10am). These were without any additional cost. So for service, pricing and turnaround time-wise, this place is pretty solid and I would recommend. The reason I took 2 stars off, is because of the payment issue. In the email, the person asked me to send the payment via Zelle or Paypal, since they do not take credit cards. I immediately sent the Zelle payment to the listed email, and the payment was taken out of my bank account. An hour later, the person emailed me back saying they have not received the payment yet and is asking me to investigate. From previous experience, it has happened with my bank (Bank of America) where they might take a few business days for the Zelle payment to send to a "new" recipient for security purposes; also, depending on the recipient's bank, it could take a few days to clear as well. I even called my bank and confirmed this and sent Multilingual Technologies my payment confirmation twice; but on their end, since they have not received the payment at the time of me picking up the documents on Wednesday morning, I was told to pay cash. Since I was in urgent need, I paid cash at the time of pickup, but I also noted to the person at the office (Jonathan) of the situation with the Zelle payment and asked them to please send the payment back to me when it goes through, since I have now double-paid. As of today 11/22/24, I still have not received the payment back from Multilingual Technologies. I am hoping 1. moving forward, for future customers they can also note that the payment can be done in cash as well - I would have went with this method instead of paying via Zelle; and 2. send me my payment back when it does go through.
