Well what a small world this is. In my past life I knew the owner of this place and in my new life…read moreI now know him as a much more holistic and mindful person. So many paths in our lives that can alter one journey to the next. In this carnation I get more anxious and I tend to have a great amount of anxiety that comes along with being more empathetic than in my previous life. Such an altercation changes us. I've changed a lot and when we decided to come here it was a change in our course that we hadn't planned. Such expected journeys like this is welcome. So here we were finding ourselves in front of this place that we had heard about from the internet. Places like this are typically found in Japan and even in Korea. When we found out they had one here we just had to go!!! Now this place is very Japanese which means bring your best manners with you and understand that there is a form and flow to their process. First call and make an appointment, show up on time. Let them know that it is your first time going so they will be able to talk to you about the process. Remember to relax when your there. It's all about your zen and life energies flowing freely without fear of anxieties. They'll take your blood pressure and body temperature and you sign some general papers in health and if you've had any illnesses which can help them in understanding you and to check if any of the challenges you've had might be ok for you. Or if the heat would be too much or other things. If you do one session it's about 45 minutes in the hot tile room and about $28 for the time. If your over 50 they offer you usage of the nébuliser which you place a steam mask on your face and you gently breath in the nébulised water. It's a very good way of rehydration for the mind and body. Its hard for me to explain here but you can check out their website for more info. Anyways once we've done that then we can change into our comfy clothing and place our belongings into the locker and go into the hot tile room. Once inside you have your designated spot to place your towels and lie down. The have e water to drink before going into the room to make sure you're hydrated. Lie down and relax and breath and close your eyes and just let your negative energies flow from your body as you basque on the warmth of the tiles. If you've never tried this, it could be a good experience for you. Keeping the body warm is good for your overall health. For some this is an alternative to steam rooms or saunas because this is a dry heat and kept at 40 degrees. Im going back and will bring my mom cause this would be good for her .

This was my worst blood draw experience in 37 years. I've never had issues with needles or blood…read moredraws, but Rida Wang (ND) was remarkably inept compared to even the most mediocre phlebotomists and nurses I've encountered in the past. I thought it was weird that a naturopath was doing a blood draw, but figured she must know what she's doing if she's confident enough to offer it as a service and had a student shadowing her. Boy was I wrong. She took an unnecessarily large needle, dug and twisted it in my right arm every which way and somehow still failed to locate a vein while causing intense pain. I literally had to yell, "STOP!" She then switched over to my left arm and eventually managed to draw 2 tubes of blood, but not without significant discomfort. The veins in both of my arms ended up feeling like they were on fire and were heavily bruised. This was also the first blood draw where I've had someone take a pen to mark the corners of my vein so that she wouldn't "miss with the needle". After I complained about them on Google, Rida Wang sent a formal document to me saying that neither she nor her student noticed my discomfort, which I vigorously dispute. Are you telling me with your "20 years of experience", you can't even tell when a patient yells stop, that they're in pain? A true professional would have explained upfront that they weren't that experienced and either offered an alternative or asked if I'd be okay with them practicing on me. However, Rida Wang claims that she's a seasoned professional who has "over 200" blood draws under her belt. This really only made the matter worse because if she's done this over 200 times, then there's even less of an excuse to have missed the mark so terribly. The only solution they offered me was a complimentary 15 minute session with Rida Wang for the bruising -- but why would I want that from a person who couldn't even do a basic blood draw? The damage has already been done. How would a consultation help with anything? Finally, I have reason to believe they're withholding results for the blood test. It's been a month, and instead of simply delivering on the product I already paid over $600 for, they requested that I either sign a waiver or book an appointment with my original naturopath, Jean Wong. As my complaint is not about her, I informed the receptionist that I had no issues booking an appointment to get my results from her. They did not provide a clear response and instead said they were following up with the doctor for next steps. This seems like unprofessional and vindictive behaviour. Don't walk away from this place. RUN. I suffered at their hands and not only did I not receive an apology, I got a wall of deflection and gaslighting, completely devoid of empathy or accountability. Patient care is clearly not their priority here.

I was so blown away by the information I was given my first meet with Tomek the owner. A few weeks ago I was chosen for Dr.Tomek Pajak's 12 week sleep study. I am literally so thankful for the experience so far. Tomek is so knowledgeable, personable, and relatable on so many levels. My long battle with sleep and anxiety disorder started when I was around 23-24 years of age. At the time not realizing the severity, and it really escalated the last 8 years. I was seeing a physiotherapist, massage therapist, and a grief counsellor for many years for emotional life circumstances and physical pain in my body I couldn't quite understand. I would always retreat back to "feeling good" for a short while, then plateau. I have so far completed four sessions with Tomek doing the Brain Tap sessions, and some slight change to my daily exercises. I love the sessions so far, my body has so far responded well and I am sleeping more frequently everyday since I started ten days ago. Before I started the 12 week sleep program, I was consistently waking every night between 11 pm-1 am and would be up sometimes till 5 am. I'll update this further down my 12 week program but feeling optimistic that finally I am feeling more connected to my mind and body even though I still have some progress to go.

My visit with the RN began ten minutes after my 10.30 appt. time. The client just before me had left at about a quarter past the hour. Be prepared to wait a bit, I guess. Not used to not having to pay for every little thing regarding health care, I was compelled to make a financial donation after my visit as both a thank-you & a way to support what is a very necessary women's institution. When I inquired, I was told that the collective would gladly accept a donation of women's clothing. Preferring to make a monetary donation, I was sent to chat with the clinic's director. PayPal would be the way to go, if one is so inclined.
