Tucked away just off south Granville is an oasis. Because it's not on street level, if you didn't know what you were looking for it would be hard to find but once inside I felt lucky to have found this hidden gem. It has the feeling of relaxation like a spa but the practitioners are very serious about your wellbeing. I had an appointment with Cary, whom I believe is the owner and she spent much more time going through point by point all of my medical intake form than I have ever experienced at an acupuncture studio. We talked in depth about all of my ailments and she gave some sound advice. The acupuncture session was pleasant and relaxing yet I felt energized after the treatment. The location is very easy to access just off W. Broadway and Granville. Part of my 2016 resolution was to take care of my health a little but more both physically and mentally. Upon invitation I checked out a sampling of their services. The place is small, clean, soft colors with a nice ambiance. There are a lot of self improvement books and complimentary water and tea. I met with Kira for a short life couching session. I've never had life couching, just heard about it. Kira was warm, humorous and made me feel comfortable opening up. In that short time she got the hamster wheels turning about the things that were important to me etc. I did an acupuncture session with Cary. I've never had an acupuncture session before, therefore, didn't know what to expect. The body can react individually. It was an intriguing experience as the body works in mysterious ways. She was kind, gentle and found humor in some of my embarrassing situations that day. She uses awesome aromatherapy oils and soft music. The acupuncture table is heated which was awesome on a cold day. Made me very relaxed. She mainly addressed my concerns about my back due to a car accident years ago. I had a very relaxing 30 minute message with Kent Smith. I actually found this to be the most informative message session that I've ever had. He talked me through what was going on in my body and the causes for certain areas being more difficult than others. Who completely understood my body as an office worker 8 hours a day at a desk and then as a hobby writer on my free time. He was suggestive and informative on solutions. He used an aromatherapy message with oil blends that made my heart feel like summer inside. The smell was so wonderful. I fell asleep on the table. It was the first time in weeks in which I really felt relaxed on my lunch break. I shut off my phone completely during my break and just allowed myself to escape with the touch and smell of the oils. I had a brief MI scan with Susan. Everything that Susan said about me was dead on. I didn't tell her anything. I just laid on the table and allowed her to do her magic. I just couldn't believe how accurate she was, I was blown away. I found some information about my body that was extremely helpful and encouraged me to take immediate actions on some issues that I've been putting on the back burner. It gave me that jump to really take proactive measures on these things. I got an extremely warm vibe from her. Overall the whole team was amazing, warm, friendly people. read more

I was looking for a good counsellor in Vancouver area and I found Root Wellness on online and I decided to give it a try. Kira was very nice and patient. She made me feel really comfortable to tell her whats on my mind and what's bothering me. After seeing her once every 2 weeks for few months I have seen a big positive change in my life. She really helped me with my self esteem problem and gave me tips and techniques I can use to help myself in the future. I am really glad I had Kira as my counsellor. As I just moved back to Vancouver, I was at a loss on finding a new life/work counsellor in the city... I resorted to the web, and found Kira at Root Wellness. She was close, and found that she was able to understand me, and provide me with input on what was troublesome in my life. Kira has a fantastic demeanor, her own life experiences to relate, and the ability to adjust too attitudes or feelings quickly. I found that comforting, and easy to take her comments at face value. The only thing that I wish she did more often was to provide more direct input. That is just specific to my personality. Of course, we are all different... I enjoyed her 'homework', and was given a myriad of ideas for certain life/work situations. I have been able to take a sabbatical from Kira, but plan to go back soon for self-maintenance. I started going to Cary for acupuncture about 2 years ago. I had never had acupuncture done before and was a bit apprehensive. Cary was amazing. She began by going through my entire physical and emotional health. It was nice to see how she really cared about how all the parts fit into a whole, not just focusing on the one problem that I had identified and treated only that. It was like a therapy session plus acupuncture! I am fairly open minded but wouldn't consider myself one of the Bolen books crowd. Acupuncture with Cary feels like a tune up. Something that I can go to, check in and feel so much better afterwards. I'm currently pregnant and looking forward to working with Cary to learn how to relax and manage labour. She even offered to have my husband join me for one of our sessions to teach him proper pressure points and techniques!
