Ok, imagine a shop that sells a tight-selection of super stylish, comfortable shoes, from boots and strappy heels to slip on flats and chunky pumps at affordable prices. Already, I've got you hooked right? Now add to that the fact that all of the shoes are made in Paris in an atelier in the 11th. Not only is that impressive, but so outrageously rare. Aside from super exclusive artisans creating custom shoes that cost a month's rent, it's impossible to find locally-made shoes at real-people prices. Now, as if that weren't enough, get ready for the icing on the cake. ALL of the models can be customized for no extra fee at all. So, if you love that pair of peep-toe pumps but want them in emerald green in stead of pink, Taher Mardini can make that happen for you. I took advantage of the sales and bought myself the perfect pair of black boots at 30% off the ticket price. They are amazingly beautiful and super comfortable and cost 1/4 of the price of a pair of designer boots made who knows where in the world. I'm totally eying a pair of ankle books that I plan on ordering in one of the 50 or so different colors that you could choose from. Never owned a pair of red boots and I think that I totally need that experience in my life. Oh, I forgot to mention that they'll also recreate a pair of your favorite beat up shoes for you too! Since then i have discovered Charles Kammer , Sasha's big sister, located on rue grenelle. This company has three brands: Charles Kammer, Colisée de Sacha and Parcours ( in order of quality) . Charles Kammer is a tad less trendy but is far better quality than Colisée. Parcours is fun but kindof cheap and a little tacky .... I recommend buying boots here, NOT shoes. The boots are a great value - very nice leather that wears well, and very comfortable ( i walk miles on end and one pair of my Charles Kammer is going on 6 years old !) I would not suggest buying shoes or sandals here as i bought a pair of sandals two summers ago that were not comfortable at alllllll and didn't look so hot after a few wears ( shocking as i was wearing them but not really even walking in them due to discomfort!) tip: If you are looking for a bargain or something you missed out on last season check out their outlet in the 2nd at 15 rue turbigo - they have all three brands Charles Kammer, Colisée de Sacha and Parcours - i have never bought anything but i am always fascinated by the variety available and the amazingly low prices...

After taking a few random turns from Notre Dame, I found La Scarpa randomly. The store was not…read moredecorated or fancy in any way, but I loved the boots I saw from the window, so I went inside. There is so much to choose from, it is a bit overwhelming since the boxes are stacked on top of one another and shoes and placed in odd places. Not your typical shoe boutique I've seen else where in Paris, but the selection is great and the materials seem to be of quality. Also, compared to other shoe boutiques in the area, the price is very reasonable as most are about 100 euro or less! I found 2 pairs of boots I really liked - one tall pair of suede black boots with a tassel, silver embellishment and shorter ankle boots with gold zipper details. I was in boot heaven and had to kick myself out before I spent all of my money. If I [randomly] pass by La Scarpa again, I will go inside and buy more! P.S. The young lady who was helping me did not speak any english. However, her co-worker and blonde lady with curly hair and glasses translated!
