Jennifer Greenberg is just excellent. We have a newborn and I am a first time parent and I was…read moreconcerned about latching, pumping and other things. Jennifer communicated very well with us before the appointment and during it. She has a background in education, so she explains things in a fantastic way that made me and my husband comfortable. She taught me how to latch, how to check for hunger cues and other things. She is patient, knows a lot and very organized. I am SO HAPPY with her. At the hospital I saw couple IBCLC (lactation consultant) and they were not as helpful as Jennifer - not even close. If you need her service, please do. She is an amazing human being and an excellent professional!

Reasons I gave her five stars: - she fixed our son's feeding problems right away, during the home visit. - she validated every problem/concern we had, and provided concrete executable solution. Never vague. Never hand-wavy. Never dismissing any issue. - she provided help not only for feeding, but also in exercising and sleeping. - she wrote up detailed reports after the visit. Details for my two experiences: - The first time was when my son was 11 days old. He wouldn't latch during breastfeeding, and Jen taught me how to properly latch, and how to observe his suckle & swallow ratio. She also helped me with selecting pumping flanges. - The second time I called her was a different issue. Little one likes to be breastfed but just wouldn't take a bottle. Only 0.5 to 2 oz per feed. We tried everything we can for a month but in vain. Like last time, Jennifer came to our house, and viola, my son took a full 4oz under her guidance! That's never happened before! Now that he is eating enough, he's also sleeping longer and I'm also getting enough sleep.

Informative, empowering, respectful, approachable, individual, caring, encouraging. But, at this point I've had my baby. I had a natural (no epi, no pitosin, etc..) birth at a major hospital. It was an amazing experience (seriously) and I owe that in large part to Zina's teaching and guidance. This is how Zina's classes helped: 1. My husband and I had learned what was happening at different stages of the birth process, and could make informed decisions once we got to the hospital, we didn't feel like we were being told what to do and instead were an active part of the decision-making process. 2. I felt confident and excited, instead of apprehensive and scared (if left to my own devices, I'd just feel scared). This made such a difference. 3. Probably the biggest difference was that when the time came, my husband and I were a team. It's natural for a partner to want to help, but oftentimes it's hard to know how, especially with how birth is portrayed in movies. Zina's class gave us a 'toolkit,' and having those options and ideas at the ready for when you don't really have time to think was key.

These 5 classes just flew by and I did not expect to learn this much. I feel prepared and empowered to help my baby come to this world. And this is not just me, my husband absolutely loved this class and feels like he can really help and that we can do this as a team- all three of us I highly recommend this class, Zina is a great teacher and overall an amazing person. I feel so lucky to have found this class and if I have any issues with breastfeeding I'll know who to call!

With the birth of our first baby, I had no idea what a post-partum doula could do for me. Nobody I…read moreknew had ever worked with one, and I figured the help of family and friends would be enough. I am so, SO glad we made the decision to get support, and beyond lucky to have found Martha! Martha is the whole package - kind and supportive, super hard working and extremely knowledgeable about babies, childcare, parenting, and any relevant topic in between - from breastfeeding, to mental health to postpartum exercise, In addition to completely taking care of me - preparing delicious food, doing laundry, making sure I was hydrated and giving me precious time to sleep and shower, Martha didn't just help care for my newborn, she taught me invaluable skills of how to take care of my baby as a (pretty clueless) first time mom: How to breastfeed, how to decipher her cries and understand her needs, and how to deal with the multitude of unexpected issues that I wasn't even aware could affect new moms and their babies. Her guidance, encouragement, and wisdom increased my confidence in my ability to take care of a newborn baby and removed much of the anxiety of becoming a first-time parent, which allowed me to focus on enjoying this special time with my daughter. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Martha. She is must more than just a doula - she is a trusted advisor and now, a dear friend. Looking back, I cannot imagine how we would have gotten through the first few days, weeks and months without her. In fact, now at 4+ months postpartum and being back at work for over a month, I still cannot "let go" of Martha and continue to seek her help with our family on a weekly basis.

She is exactly who you want to have in your village when you're navigating the first hectic days, weeks, and months at home with a newborn. She is a wealth of information but doesn't give unsolicited advice. She is reliable and an excellent communicator. She goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable, and you will quickly learn that your baby is in the best hands (besides your own) while Martha is providing overnight care. We were beyond lucky to work with Martha and would recommend her without hesitation.
