My husband and I eloped and wanted to do a simple wedding photo shoot. I was lucky enough to find Abby on yelp and after checking out her website I knew she could take incredible outdoor photos, which was perfect for our shoot at Garden of the Gods. I wanted to do a family photo session (including our dog Luna) in Garden of the Gods, and it not only was a special and pleasant experience, the photos look amazing! She captured the grand but natural aesthetic that I wanted - I love the photos. She guided me throughout the entire process: provided me with samples in the location; picked out a uniquely perfect spot for the session; prompted us to take natural poses/smiles (we were all really enjoying the session so this was easy); and she was very accommodating to my requests, as I needed to have professional headshots done as well and ready by a certain deadline. He only used one lens, it seemed, and the main family photos were in front of a bunch of power lines! He could have used an assistant for a group as large as ours--50+ people! And after a thousand hours of free work as a professional photographer, I asked them for $15 per hour and they never did it. I spent thousands of hours of my time giving them free work. And the one I asked for a dollar they fired me. Just a f****** dollar. I cannot express my disdain for these people. Katie and Victor are some of the worst that I have ever met. From the moment that I first contacted Alisa through her website, she was fantastic. She's super…read moreresponsive and I really felt that she cared that she take and deliver great photos that I loved. I really liked that she gives you information on everything, from ideas of location to suggestions on how to dress. My advice is to listen to her advice :) My family just moved to Breck, and I don't live there, and so no one in our group knew the area super well. But I mentioned what kind of location we were looking for and she gave me a few great options. It seemed like she was very used to clients not knowing their way around Breck and was super helpful in that regard. She even had a brunch location suggest for us, after our shoot. I wanted to get some photos with my parents and the family tree they created (ie my parents, their kids and their grandkids). The shoot included a 7 year old, 2 year old and a 10 month old. There was a lot of kid-wrangling to do and Alisa was amazing. My 7 year old nephew hates having his photo taken. Seriously. He hates it. I don't think I have a single decent photo of him. But Alisa was able to get him to smile and be silly for her. She got some amazing group photos, as well as portraits of him! And she was even able to wrangle my unpredictable baby. Her quote was actually a bit higher than other quotes I got. But from her portfolio photos, as well as her communication skills, I suspected that she'd be worth it. And now that I have the finished photos, I know that I was right. Her ability to handle little kids is incredible. It's definitely not something that everyone can do and I think it kind of key for a family photographer. For anyone looking to take some photos in Breck, I can't suggest Alisa enough.
