They have flights, so you can sample before you buy a bottle. There are snacks like cheese, nuts and meat, to purchase in a cooler if you are hungry. There are also plenty of beverage choices if you do not wish to have wine, and milk and juice for kiddos if you are visiting with your family. I have always felt comfortable walking in with my kids. We often stopped here on our way from Indianapolis to St. Louis and stretched our legs. It is also close to a beautiful covered bridge, so i t makes pulling off the interstate a nice experience to pair the winery and bridge together. I feel like the wines are a combination of excellent flavor and yet affordable for yourself or as a gift. This year they has a wine called "Let it Snow" with edible glitter that made a beautiful swirl.

Wine tasting: Each sample was served in a wine glass, glasses brought to us in a lovely metal flight server. We tried what we thought we might like, and, as expected, several were quite pleasant. The Historic Greenup Depot, built through community effort in 1870, is currently in the museum complex on the Historic National Road. The Depot building has served the St. Louis, Vandalia & Terre Haute Railroad, the Pennsylvania Railroad, the Penn-Central Railroad, and the Illinois Central Railroad. In its current location, the Depot brings to mind a bygone era when railroads brought Greenup many freight shipments and travelers. The main floor boasts the original waiting room, office fixtures and a model railroad depicting major periods of American Railroading. This depot is one of few constructed with second-story living quarters, currently beautifully restored in 1930's era decor.

I called back a few days later after not hearing from him and he said he'd misplaced my number. I explain what I'm in need of he was accommodating saying he'd piggy back our order onto a wedding the same weekend or week before to get us better pricing if we were flexible with what to serve. I agreed and we set a price per person. A month or so later I get a call from a woman who says she's now the event coordinator. She didn't have any knowledge or our agreements on the menu and price and tried to get us to pay more even though I'd already started inviting classmates. She said to call back with a final count in a month. I did so and I spoke with Tony. I gave him the number and explained my concern about the pricing change and he said it would be what we previously discussed. I asked him what the menu would be and he said he'd let me know. Again I didn't hear from him so I called back and he seemed annoyed that I wanted to know. I just wanted to give classmates a head's up! He seemed to begrudgingly tell me. The night of the reunion was lovely. The food was good and the server we had was wonderful. The woman serving and the woman bartending were both accommodating to us. There are few places in the area for things like a reunion so I would certainly return but I highly recommend getting things in writing.

There is a little coffee nook on the 2nd floor with a Keurig and coffee pods. They are VERY clear on the website that you must be able to navigate a flight of stairs for 300 numbered rooms. However, the best way to navigate to the 200 rooms is also up a very steep staircase. It's a historic building so I get it, and they have tried to provide some accessibility with a lift on the outside of the building, but if accessibility is a key concern you may want to stay elsewhere.
