Worth the stay! I'm happy to see someone who put hard work into rehabbing an old building for a new purpose! Towels were soft and fluffy opposed to some hotels that cost a lot more with hard krusty towels. Rooms are beautifully done. Definitely recommend this place.

The rooms are very nice and greatly appointed. The only drawback is all rooms are on the 2nd floor. The elevator was not working and carrying luggage up a very steep flight of stairs was not easy and the handrail was unable to hold onto at one place. Also because it is an old building, it's not airtight and tends to be very noisy. You can hear anything and everyone in the hall.

We came upon this town on our road trip not knowing what a delight it would be! This was the perfect place to stay! The room was beautiful and the bed was unbelievably comfortable. We almost did not wake up in the morning! Everything was walking distance so me and the sister got to experience Casey to the fullest. In the small town with the biggest things, this is the best place you could stay!

My husband and I LOVE Casey (particulalry given we were married under the world's largest rocking chair!), and were so happy to find out about this new boutique hotel that is right in the middle of the town, steps from all the many Big Things! Not only is it in a great location and that you get a breakfast voucher for either Reflections or Whitling Whimsy, but the rooms are GORGEOUS and HUGE and some of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed at (and we travel a LOT). The photos on the website give a pretty good indication how lovely the place is but still don't do it justice. Every detail is thought through and executed perfectly and while you get the sense of the history of this 100+ year old building, you also get all the modern amenities and comfort. Kim is also the nicest lady and provides top notch personalized service. We have been twice and thoroughly enjoyed both times and will stay here whenever we're in Casey. Highly recommended!!!

The front desk was great. Both people we dealt with were great in customer service and pleasant. This hotel had two problems. One was the maintenance workers. As we were getting on the elevator, they were speaking poorly of the guests in the hotel. I believe the comment was about a woman jumping in front of him in line for gravy on her plate. Probably a woman with children, as most of the women I saw had little children. We were trying to make their plates so we could also eat. These were two large gentle man who probably could have waited to eat! Both men didn't look like they showered or were well kept. They did have their maintenance uniforms on. As we were leaving, I was feeding the birds. (My offering to Illinois) and the maintenance man took out his phone to take pictures of me. I saw him and thought, this hotel needs my review. Our second interaction was with the house keeping. The pool was so overloaded with chlorine we literally couldn't swim in it. Our skin was tingling and the night before we opened a window to air it out a bit, before we realized we actually couldn't swim... so we enjoyed the sauna for a few minutes instead. This hotel has a sauna! Incredible! Thank you for that. About 2 minutes after I opened the window, this morning, the house keeper came in and shut the window. I walked back in and opened the window for the family that was going to be in there that morning. I told her the chlorine smell was so awful, she didn't want to have her little kids breathing that in. The house keeper she couldn't even smell the chlorine. Asked the maintence man if he could smell the chlorine, right in front of me. What a weird interaction to have with two people... but as I left the pool, my family said I wreaked of chlorine! All I did was walk in and opened the window. I am going to guess they are not testing the chlorine but actually just throwing it into the water. Really interested communication. We decided on 3 stars because the front desk, our huge room and the sauna were all fantastic! The maintenance people could use some customer service classes. I think talking about customers in the hallway in front of the elevator is probably something to work on... and taking pictures of customers outside your hotel, pretty shady too.

Upon entering we were greeted by a very friendly lady who was very knowledgable about the area and the hotel. They also had cookies throughout the day = excellent! The rooms were above average in size w/ a couple queen beds, windows that open (a plus as it's rare anymore) and nice flat screen 32 inch TVs. Standard accompaniments in the room w/ free internet - a must anymore. The workout room was a little lacking, but got the job done. An upright and a recumbent bike were present as well as a treadmill. Enough to keep you busy for a bit. The pool area was very nice and located away from the hotel actions which made it nice that people fresh out of the water weren't tracking pool water all over the hotel. The food in the morning was excellent. The sitting area is ample and the food plentiful. They offered hot options including meat, eggs, and cinnamon rolls as well as plenty of fruit, cereal, yogurt and, the show stopper, do it yourself pancakes with what seemed to be a larger, modified easy bake oven! Overall, this was a great place to spend a couple nights. A step up from many of the other hotels in the area and well worth the price of admission with the internet and breakfast. Coffee served all day made it easy to stay alert at all hours and the staff were all exceptionally friendly. This is where we'll be staying when we come to visit in the future.

The room is a little smaller than most, but very clean and comfortable. The beds and pillows were awesome. The attached restaurant was very nice and despite some of the reviews I read quite reasonable. The catfish was great. The free morning breakfast was also very nice. Coffee was especially good. Unique Suites failed at the most basic function of a hotel: honoring confirmed reservations…read more I coordinated a family block in March with manager Mike -- 10 rooms, 15% discount, clear terms. What followed was two months of staff giving verbal assurances with zero written confirmation. Calls to Macy (April 8), Stacy (April 18), and Hark (May 11) each produced promises, not paperwork. By the time my family arrived, rooms had evaporated from the system entirely. My aunt held four confirmed reservations with confirmation numbers. She arrived May 21 to be told none of them existed. The only reason three rooms were found at all was because a maintenance employee -- not front desk, not management -- intervened. The fourth room? Simply gone. The rooms they did provide were poorly maintained. No remote for the TV in my parents' room. A detail that's almost funny in context, except nothing about this experience was funny. This isn't a staffing hiccup. It's a systemic failure in reservation management, internal communication, and basic accountability. I would not recommend this property to anyone coordinating group travel, or frankly, any travel at all.

He's on a walker, so we needed an accessible room with two beds. This was one of the only hotels left in the area (including in Effingham) that met our requirements and didn't break the bank. Then we went to my rental car where he engaged just as committedly. He politely asked if I was ok w/ his help, and then used his cell phone lite to look where I had already looked, felt, and told him the retainer was not. But he could see it under the seat and stuck into a gap in the floor paneling. Pretty incredible. Very incredible. Forever grateful. Above and beyond the call.

Unfortunately, the stay was a disaster. Our first room had a toilet that didn't work and was visibly dirty. The water wasn't coming out of the spout, and we were later informed the hotel was experiencing water issues. We were moved to a clean room, which seemed like an improvement--until we pulled back the sheets on one of the beds and found blood stains. Absolutely disgusting. With no other clean rooms available, we had to share the remaining bed, which felt far from ideal under the circumstances. Our stay was brief--just 4 hours--but during that time, we couldn't brush our teeth or shower due to the water issues. We didn't even dare to eat the breakfast, despite it being open. This experience was deeply disappointing and well below expectations for a SpringHill Suites property. I hope management addresses these serious issues.

I thought I could ignore and chalked it up to him just having a bad day. Once we got upstairs to get settled for the evening, turned the tv on to watch the NBA playoffs and 5 minutes into the show a message pops up saying the tv needed to reboot. I thought was odd but I allowed it to reboot but it turned off instead of restarting. SO I turned it back on. Was watching again and 5 minutes in I got the same message and the tv turned off again. I turned it back on and again maybe 10 minutes in the same thing occurred. I called downtstairs to let the guy know at the first desk and I said, hi I am in room so and so and ......he starts yelling saying I KNOW THE TV DOESN"T WORK IT IS PROPERTY WIDE AND WE HAVE TOLD IT AND THEY ARE AWARE. I say okay and hang up. This is maybe at 8:00. So we continued the evening watching a few minutes tv going off and me turning it back on. I called back down around 11:30 and asked if there are any updates, and I was yelled at again....I said, Hi this is room blah blah and I was calling to see if there was an update.......he says: I ALREADY TOLD YOU IT IS AWARE AND I DON"T KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE FIXED. So needless to say, the tv never worked properly. I would not stay here again. I did also contact Marriott corporate. They responded and said they were researching to have a response for me in the next 5 days.
