We took hired cars everywhere as the London Underground was not very near either. The hotel itself was clean and nice, and it offered a very good free hot breakfast with plenty of seating. There is also a Chinese restaurant attached to the hotel that was pretty tasty. The fire alarm went off VERY early on one of the days we were there, and then we were left without hot water or flushing toilets for several hours. Thank goodness we were already ready for the day. The elevator only fit a few people and was one of the smallest I have ever been in -- but it was working while we were there. I recommend this hotel if you want to do something in Greenwich. Not a great option if you want to visit London daily.

Both Saturday and Sunday morning there were massive queues which was fine only they took over 20 minutes to bring out sausages. Also the cutlery became a bit grubby. I'd imagine it is not so bad during the weekdays. This is a good location if you are going to the royals naval college or visiting. The GMT line museums etc.

Randomness defined!…read more The usual sterile pricy experience of a holiday inn without complimentary internet, but with added randomness... A large rum and cola can come as; 2x25ml, 1x35ml, 2x35ml, the cola can be charged as one dash or two, ice ran out at 1900 on a wednesday (and apparently not enough staff to buy a topup from the superstore down the road) Steak on one night superbly cooked and tasty, but presented poorly with tolerable sides. On the other night the steak was poorly cooked but presented very well with tasty sides. Room was a twin when I expected a double, towels scratchy and overdue for replacement, shower hot and powerful enough but leaked water badly out the head. The friendly staff who were willing to try hard to please, even though somewhat undertrained, managed to wrestled this back to a three star rating. Your experience(s) may vary!

They struggled to find rooms either here or at another property (after the disaster of a room, I'd have rather go to another hotel). I received my key after 30 mins, only to go to the room and find it occupied.... Um, thankfully they had the safety lock on or I'd have been entering someone else's space.... Can we say UNSAFE?? Another trek downstairs to be put into another room, one that smelled like it had not seen the light of day in a very long time. It was not clean, it was just awful. As this was the "very last room " I was offered another cookie.... WTF.... I don't want a cookie, I want the room that was booked and confirmed. I advised them they could rebook me in another hotel and could drive me there and pick me up in the morning so that I could join the group that all booked together, guess I'm stuck in a musty, carpet not clean, disaster to the Hilton name room. The voice on the outside that states there is video surveillance, yep, had the pleasure of listening to that every minute... that has to go!! The bathroom was far from clean and then to top it off... NO hot water! And that could be said for the entire hotel. I thought it was just my crappy accommodations, nope, my entire party on different floors all had the same experience. Um, it's freaking cold and I just wanted a hot shower! 18£ breakfast for absolutely nothing and the coffee was just acidicly gross.... Not a fan! Please get it together Hilton, as the taste in my mouth is very sour and I have been a member for a very long time! Zero recommend!

Rooms are comfortable, as are the beds. If you asked me for any negative feedback ..... the TV is too small ...... nice flatscreen but very small ..... 19" at best! Food I've sampled from the bar menu is plentiful and tasty (top chips). The cooked breakfast is good too, cooked to order. Staff are always friendly, welcoming and helpful.... especially the barman. The bar is very comfortable, a plethora of comfy chairs and sofas to choose from. I haven't eaten in the restaurant yet in the evenings .... the menu does look good though, and is reasonably priced. Every visit down here in Kent results in me booking this particular hotel .... definitely worth the ££££

The bad: No WiFi in our room (we were at the end of a corridor), however step out into the corridor and it was fine, and it's strong in public areas. 5Mb down, 1Mb up. Caulking in the tub/shower going pink. The ugly: Toilet did not flush. Told reception about the toilet and got a "oh thanks for letting us know", but it did not get fixed. While sitting by reception (so I could use WiFi) I heard other guests checking out and complaining about their plumbing too - one shower would not get hot and one was either freezing cold or scalding hot. In summary: A nice old place but with some deferred maintenance. Better for tourists than hardened business travelers.

December 2021 - hallelujah - a free house, with new owners, new managers, and a total makeover…read more 12 of us are and drank there for a pre Christmas get together. 3 courses each, great food, great beer and great valu. We were there from lunchtime until 10pm. We are and drank what we wanted and the bill oy just came in at about £50 a head - amazing value I popped in again just for a drink and to make sure that it wasn't a one off. The second time around,I was equally impressed. 4 real ales with interesting and tasty choices to choose from and new ones due to come on making me want to come back The Larkin's porter and old dairy Uber brew were particularly good. Matt the new manager keeps a cracking good pint and knows his stuff. Add in a choice of 4 lagers, 2 ciders, a craft beer and Guinness and the choice is amazing. I also met Ana who runs the front of house and who cooked possibly the best sausage roll I have ever tried. This whole place has has a top notch makeover and screams out that it is a quality country pub. Like all newly refurbished places, it still needs to develop some character but as Matt explained , that is not just about putting rubbish up on walls, it will take time and he also explained the plans for adding some booths inside. I looked at the garden which is going to be a paradise in the summer and I understand that there is also a kids play area being built. Even more exciting was the rotisserie chicken machine which will be added some time next year and exciting things like schnitzel that may be added to the menu and which will keep dragging me back. I only wish that I lived a little closer. You would never keep me out..

I didn't find the bed and pillows comfortable which made it hard to get a good night's sleep. The only good thing about the hotel is the proximity to the Excel for conferences. I would not stay here again.
