I don't suggest Andy's because the students aren't very nice. They don't treat you the way you want to be treated.

Extremely Frustrating Experience -- More Than a Year and Still No Behind-the-Wheel Training…read more I paid $370 last summer for my son to complete Driver's Education with Southern Maryland Driving Academy in Prince Frederick, including both the classroom portion and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. My son successfully completed and passed the classroom portion. However, more than a year later, they still have not been scheduled for the 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction that we paid for. Over the past year, I have sent multiple emails and left multiple voicemails trying to get this resolved. Calling their phone number has been extremely frustrating because my calls routinely go directly to voicemail. I leave messages and do not receive return calls. I send emails and often receive no response. We have even gone to their Prince Frederick office in person a couple of times hoping to speak with someone. Each time we went, nobody was there -- the lights were off and the door was locked. So this hasn't been a matter of simply sending an email or leaving one voicemail and expecting an immediate response. For more than a year, I have repeatedly tried to reach this business by phone, email, and in person, with very little success. A little over a week ago, I finally reached a representative by phone. I explained that it had already been more than a year and my son still had not received his behind-the-wheel instruction. I also explained that his learner's permit is expiring in September, so there is now some urgency to getting this completed. During that conversation, she told me she was on vacation and asked me to text her my son's upcoming school schedule. She suggested that they might be able to use his school's "Patriot Time" to pick him up, complete some of his driving instruction, and return him to school. I sent the requested information on Monday as instructed. It is now Friday, and once again, I have received no response or update, despite leaving additional messages. At this point, I'm not even asking for a refund anymore. We have already waited more than a year, and the continued delay is now becoming a real issue because it is holding up my son's progress toward getting his MVA provisional license. I am seriously considering finding another driving school in the area and having him continue his Driver's Education there just so we can finally move forward. My concern is that he may have to repeat the classroom portion if the new school requires documentation or certification showing that he already completed it. Given how difficult it has been to get Southern Maryland Driving Academy to respond to basic phone calls and emails, I have very little confidence that obtaining that documentation from them would be easy either. I understand that businesses can have staffing and scheduling challenges. What I do not understand is accepting payment for a service and then leaving a customer chasing the business for more than a year just to receive the service that was already paid for. At this point, my biggest frustration isn't the $370. It's the lack of communication, lack of follow-through, and the impact this delay is now having on my son's ability to complete the licensing process. Had someone consistently responded to my calls and emails and provided a realistic timeline, this would be a very different review. I'm posting this because other parents considering Southern Maryland Driving Academy should be aware of my family's experience before paying for a package that includes behind-the-wheel instruction. After more than a year of waiting, repeated unanswered calls and emails, multiple unsuccessful visits to their office, and still no completed behind-the-wheel training, I cannot recommend this driving school.
