She didn't miss a thing and once we were signed up I felt great relief knowing I had this company on board to walk me through this process. I called on a Monday, the nurse Amanda came to assess mom that afternoon and we had approval for services within an hour. By the next morning all sorts of equipment was delivered; it was amazing how quickly they worked. The next day Juliet the RN came and checked out mom. Both nurses were so kind and gentle with my mom. Juliet went over the transitioning signs and other information that was very helpful to me in knowing what to expect. She spent a lot of time with me, I never felt rushed; Juliet's care was genuine. Communication was top notch; I received text notifications every time Juliet was going to come by. Both Juliet and Joyce the social worker arrived within minutes of my mom transitioning and it was so comforting to have them here. I had interviewed other hospice companies in the past and while the people I met with were nice, they felt a bit fake. I did not feel this way about Unique Hospice. Their attention and care is real and very respectful. I highly recommend Unique Hospice to walk through this difficult time with you. I urge you to carefully consider this before contracting with any hospice provider. Unfortunately, our experience with Faith & Hope made an already painful situation even harder. In April 2025, my mom suffered a massive stroke. She was placed under Continuous Care (CC), which meant she required critical, around-the-clock nursing support. We were told her case would be re-evaluated after three days. However, the care was stopped in less than 24 hours and we were given only 4 hours' notice that services would be discontinued. At that point, it was clear our needs no longer aligned with Faith & Hope's philosophy of care. We scrambled to hire private help on extremely short notice. That night, my mom was in significant pain & experienced agitation. She needed her medication adjusted and an increase of the dosage frequency to help manage her symptoms. The next day, we made final attempts to Faith & Hope to reassess mom's eligibility for CC, even though the on-call night nurse, when we asked, did acknowledge that we were free to seek another hospice provider. We waited all day for a response from Faith & Hope, but heard nothing. Faced with another evening without adequate care, we transferred my mom to a different hospice. They gave us the right care without hesitation. Sadly, our mom passed away only 4 days later. The only positive experience we had with Faith & Hope was with Nurse Theresa. She cared for my mom with compassion, dedication and a true commitment to patient advocacy. Theresa's thoughtfulness and support helped guide my brothers and me through an incredibly challenging time, and for that we are deeply grateful.

She was diagnosed with glioblastoma stage 4 and lived for about 1 1/2 year. Towards the end , it was inevitable that in home hospice was needed. My sisters and I arranged our lives and provided rotation of care 24/7 for her. But, we also needed a spiritual/ medical help for her. Her oncologist's social worker highly recommended Calstro. Having researched quite a few, we put our trust in them. Nothing was easy from the beginning- trying to receive the needed supplies was a pain and Nishun, her nurse case manager was not the best. Countless phone calls were made to the general number to try attain items needed for our mom' s care and comfort. Our mom was bed bound and as her brain cancer progressed, her discomfort increased. Calstro didn't seem to know what meds would be best for our mom. Multiple and I mean multiple medications were constantly ordered and given to her. It became too much...... We were promised a doctor would come out to assess our mom, that never happened! Nishun when she came , would perform a quick assessment and state everything was fine. Everything was not fine. We were never given a detailed booklet on what to expect with end stage glioblastoma. Education to families severely lacked. In the end, we said enough is enough and we were in the process of transitioning her into another in home hospice. Right before that happened , her breathing became more labored. Nishun was called, but stated she was too busy and could not make it over to check on her till later that evening!!!!!!! New hospice took over, got her comfortable, and she passed away the next day. It's unfortunate and sad, that our mom was under this incompetent care, especially since they were highly recommended by her USC social worker. The only people that cared for her with respect was Olga the nurse aide, the spiritual aide, and one or two nurses , whose names I can't recall, that came out on an emergency follow up visit. Do not give us false hope that you are going to give the best care and promise that a doctor will visit! We do not recommend this hospice whatsoever at all!
