This diner has expanded since the last time I was there and I believe so has the menu. I was with…read morea large group of friends who decided to have dinner here. There were four others tables taken by what seemed like locals so not overly busy for the size of the place. I found our server was quite slow, most of us just ordered water for drinks. She told us what the specials were for that day but did not mention any prices. The bacon cheeseburger macaroni soup sounded really good as the smoky burger. When she came back to take our orders, each order was written separately. A lot of us wanted the soup as the side order. Two friends ordered the smoky burger special but she was not clear that it came with two sides. After placing our orders she comes back to say they ran out of soup! All of us were disappointed but perhaps they didn't make enough as they weren't expecting a group of 12? The root beer float came with ice cubes which was odd, for a diner my friend was not impressed. My crispy chicken burger for $13.95 was just a frozen chicken patty with lettuce, tomato and mayo. I chose a salad with French dressing and the lettuce was very fresh like it was just cut from the head five minutes before! The 50/50 burger was not greasy but didn't have much bacon taste, they could probably improve on that one. Another two friends had the chicken cordon bleu which they said was quite good except the mashed potatoes was a bit dry and may not be real potatoes. We paid our bills individually at the till and my friend discovered the smoky burger special was $19.95! Definitely not worth it but it was very tasty. Overall okay but not sure if I would go to this place again next time I'm in town.

Overall: an good diner experience in the mid-range of price, clearly managed by a family…read more Atmosphere: 4/5 Comfortable, and with a typical Japanese layout. Staff: 5/5 Attentive and professional. Food: 5/5 Fresh, flavourful, and well cooked.

I am struggling on what star rating to give this. It is a truck stop and everything in it screams a…read moretruck stop. Boring outdated decor. Typical burger/sandwiches/old peoples menu. Think roast beef dinner, liver and onions, pork chops, veal cutlets etc. However the staff were friendly and quick. The food was fine. Nothing bad. Nothing to write home about. However, if you need a hot meal (as we did) this is perfectly adaquete place to go to. Prices are super affordable. I ordered the beef dip with salad. Kiddo ordered a BLT with onion rings, Hubby orderd the Iron Horse Double Patti Burger and little one when with just an order of fries. Food came out quickly. And it was fine. I would say that I was a little disappoined in my beef dip. There should have been onions sauteed with the roast beef or something or maybe horseradish added to it? It was bland. And my bun was squished. But my husbands burger looked juicy and he said it was delicous and my daughter enjoyed her BLT. If you like fries these are hand cut and my kiddo gobbled them up. I wouldn't come here intentionally, but i would say that if you are on the road and need a pit stop this would be as good as anything else on the highway.

When you go inside it smells like fresh bread and has that cabin/cottage charm. You'll be greeted by a kind attendant. They have a restaurant inside looked like they served subs and make their own bread or at least smells like they make it. The washrooms were clean but whoever designed the stalls must have been very little because your knees (and I'm short) will hit the door. The door nearly hits the toilet. That's kind of bizarre. But I'll take a clean washroom with a door issue versus something stinky and unkept. So that's minor. They also had a variety of goodies you can choose from like most convenient stores but this one was warm and charming.
