Amazing donuts, would be nice if they were open earlier to pick things up for the office or for lunch for the day.

Service was great, the lady at the counter was very helpful and friendly, it's just a small little place but they sure do make some very tasty Ukrainian food!! I bought 4 different flavors of Pirogies, plus a tasty doughnut type dessert with poppyseeds in them, I m not sure how it's spelt but I will say it starts with a P!!! Super yummy!!! If you're craving good Ukrainian food this is the place to go!!!

Extremely Poor Customer Service I purchased approximately…read more$40 worth of blueberry pie perogies from Yo Baba Foods, and they were essentially all dough with barely any filling. I was extremely disappointed and contacted the business about it. Their response? "We're sorry. We'll let the ladies know." That was it. No refund. No replacement. No offer to make it right. I even returned the two bags I had purchased so they could see for themselves what I was talking about. I was told they would make sure they were made correctly next time. But what about the product I had already paid for that wasn't made correctly? I never heard another word from them and received absolutely no compensation. Mistakes happen. Ignoring a customer's legitimate complaint and doing nothing to rectify it is a customer-service failure. I paid $40 for a product that was not up to standard, brought the product back, and was essentially told, "We'll do better next time." That is not how you treat a customer, and unfortunately, I will not be purchasing from Yo Baba Foods again.

Traditional caucasian comfort food at it's best (worst for your cardiovascular system and waistline…read moretho!) - starch, meat, salt, butter, cream... oh my! And to top it all off, huge homemade pies in about 8 different varieties. For the more health conscious (ha!) there's cabbage and beet soup - there's even some beans in there. I love Uncle Ed's. The service is fast, the food is good and the price is right. It's a calorie splurge but totally worth it. I also love that I can shop after, I always pick up soup and perogies from the frozen section, but there are many more items to choose from, like poppyseed donuts, cabbage rolls and affordable veal cutlets (they're hit and miss, sometimes stringy, but at $7 for a pack of 2 it's a good gamble). There's also a fridge section, the deli of course, and a little packaged good section. I like to pick up spätzle, sauerkraut and Jam Lady products here. They also have a small Ukrainian goods section and offer special items at Christmas and Easter. Uncle Ed's is an Edmonton institution, and their newer location in Beverly is clean and organized. Just get there early (1100ish) cuz the lunch rush is very busy and the parking fills up fast.

It is kinda similiar to a small town dinner. No frills. Also the servers do their job but I can't say they were friendly. This time I had the smoked pork chop with the chedder perogies and the sour cabbage rolls and cheese filled crepes. I love thier smoked pork chop. I waffle on that an the meatballs. To me these are my favourite foods. My husband went with the kubbie burger which he really enjoyed. Not much to say in terms of ambiance. Pretty basic but clean. I obviously will come back here again

My partner and I usually go to another place but it was our first time there to celebrate the Ukrainian Christmas. The food was very delicious and the portions generous. Service was quick and professional, and courteous. The ambiance was very nice as well - images from Ukraine were hung on the walls, with foods for sale - as well as a variety of dishware. Definitely a restaurant to go back to for tasty foods.

Frozen meals and snacks (cake, pie, loaf cake, beef jerky, pampushky) available too. Ordered the Maxi plate so I could try the perogies, nalysnyky, kobbassa, and meatballs. All for $15. Place had the AC running hard but it was +27 outside so understandable. Sausage was great. Just basic garlic sausage, not spicy. Meatballs were covered in a nice beef gravy. Perogies were fresh, I tried the cottage cheese ones which were nice - very light flavor. The Nalysnyky were great and highly recommend to try as they are pretty unique. Friend got the cabbage roll and had to ask for tomato sauce for on top (otherwise comes sauce-less). Filling is just rice looked like. Overall nice Ukranian food with a menu that lets you try everything in whatever quantity you want.

I was so disgusted by the staff smoking, hacking, and throwing their cigarette butts on the ground that I was completely turned off. I thought what would the cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen be like... I phoned and spoke to the manager regarding my concerns, but she chose to do nothing about it - it is still going on and the cigarette butts have never been cleaned up or an ashtray provided. Trying this restaurant is not in my future.

I was extremely disappointed, the food was hard, and cold. The only thing that was edible was the mashed potatoes and gravy, and adobo pork. All the vegetables were very cold, and the chicken balls were hard like a hockey puck, the Chinese noodles were crunchy because they sat out too long. there was butter chicken but only I saw was fried rice until after I saw a rice cooker that had white rice in it. It wasn't labelled, and I was just being snoopy, and that's how I found out. I deeply regret spending that kinda money on a meal I was so unsatisfied with. The dessert section was disappointing as well. I will never go there again.
