Every team member I've encountered has been professional, warm, and attentive. Their genuine care for guests is the standout feature of this property. Regarding the rooms, I've experienced two very different views. My first room featured a breathtaking look at the limestone cliffs, which was a highlight of my trip. Other days in another room, however, overlooks a residential area with visible, modest living conditions. The contrast between these two experiences was significant. While I understand the hotel cannot control its surroundings, providing more transparency about room types during the booking process--or when arranging a room change--would greatly help manage guest expectations. A quick tip for future travelers: The local wildlife is very active! I highly recommend bringing earplugs or noise-canceling headphones, as the neighborhood roosters begin crowing around 1:00 am. Additionally, I noticed some stained/mold issues in my current and previous bathroom that may need attention. I'm sharing this feedback constructively, as the service here truly deserves to shine.

First of all, they robbed us of a night's stay for a two-room reservation. When we call to complain, they tell us to wait for a supervisor and to call back later. We call back, but there is never a supervisor in sight. We called ahead to let them know our flight would be arriving a day later. They said that if they could book our room for that night, we wouldn't have to pay. We arrived early in the morning, and they said they had booked our room. So, we spent the entire morning waiting in the lobby, exhausted but were ok since we weren't paying for the night. When checking out, they gave us the checkout receipt that I requested, which showed the nights we had stayed there for proof. It's been an exhausting four months trying to get our money back from this hotel. They're total liars!

Make sure you book the whole package including the meals. It is worth it. The staff makes sure it is smooth and safe from the time you check in at the airport, the transfer and all the tours. They accommodate you if they have it. The island hopping is beautiful. I was worried about the water that they serve, I was reluctant, but we are fine. I did not have to buy bottled water. The water here is filtered and safe. Highly recommended. They discourage tipping, but if you insist, they centralize the tipping. They make sure you don't miss your flight back. Awesome!

Our private pool overlooked the ocean and was the perfect touch for the week. Facilities were decent. It's hard to critique knowing how the area "is", but bug spray is a must and definitely make sure you don't leave food in your room overnight. The food was out of this world. Fresh, authentic and served in a timely manner. Drinks were great too but ask for doubles ;) Now the best part of this resort is the staff. They were not only going above and beyond in needs anticipation, but were genuinely friendly and kind. No ask was too little and they truly made our time at Cauayan special. If you like exercise, highly recommend the sunrise/sunset hikes. Don't skip out on breakfasts. Sunset booze cruise was wonderful as well. Thank you guys for an unforgettable week!

There are many activities to choose from (weather permitting), including island hopping, scuba diving, yoga, massages, trekking, and sunset cruises. We happened to be there at the end of a spell of windy weather, so the activities were dependent on the Coast Guard's boating guidelines. We did get to do a day and a half of island hopping and a session of scuba. Keep in mind that at this resort, the activities have to be coordinated from within the resort services, and prices are more expensive. The scuba diving was cool because we got to see a sea turtle! There are some sea turtles that nest on the island, and you can see them swim in the waves from the beach. The resort has restaurant services including breakfast buffet, dining room lunch and dinner, and bar snacks. We found that all of the food was amazing. We didn't have one bad meal! Favorites included the cauliflower soup, seafood kare kare, nachos, and laksa. The drinks were also very good. We chose the unlimited package, so we tried a lot of the cocktails. I really liked the Bramble and the Pina Coladas. The spa is very special because you can get a relaxing massage AND watch fish and reef sharks through a glass window on the floor of the spa. So cool! The staff here was friendly and very polite. They cater to a very upscale, luxurious resort experience. We enjoyed being here for our honeymoon.

What Sea Cocoon offers is a comfortable, centrally located hotel with friendly staff, helpful recommendations, a great breakfast, and a wonderful view of the bay. Our room was clean, the air conditioning kept the room at a comfortable temperature, the front desk was able to order tricycle rides a bit cheaper than we could find on the street by ourselves, was able to direct us to the locations we wanted to visit, and had several connections within town. Each floor also had a water dispenser so you could fill up your travel bottle with water without having to rely on tap water. Outside of the hotel was a spot with an air compressor so you can remove sand from your shoes and sandals. Each room also has plenty of shelf space and a rack to hang things so you can pull all your clothes and gear out of your luggage and have everything easily accessible. I was in a more upscale hotel in Manila that didn't have all the great organization space Sea Cocoon offered. The facilities did look a little old, but the staff kept them clean. The elevator had a glitch where it didn't stop level at the floor you were exiting, but it was manageable. The sewer system in El Nido does smell, but the sink has a stopper in it; so long as you remember to use the stopper after using the sink, you won't get a smelly bathroom. I would absolutely stay at the Sea Cocoon the next time I visit El Nido.

However this hotel has a no refund policy, so here's a fair warning to any potential future traveller: Cons - There was a moldy smell during our entire stay. The first day we checked in there was a strong vinegar smell but that dissipated in a day, but the moldy smell persisted. That can't possibly be healthy to breathe in. The room is very humid, even more humid than outside. Mind you there hasn't been any rain in the past week so it wasn't humid because of a recent thunderstorm - The AC unit points down directly at the desk and bed and there was no way to change the direction. Hence the cold air was always blasting on my face when I'm sleeping. I wake up 6 times every day because of that - The sheet felt like a solid layer of humidity. I'm not sure if it's the material or how they wash it, but when I have it on me my skin feels very uncomfortable. That also keeps me up at night because the AC is too cold so I need the sheet on but that makes me feel very humid. I couldn't turn off the AC because then the room gets way too hot and humid - The WiFi is very unstable. Front desk said the typhoon from last December affected the whole island so WiFi is unstable on the entire island, but the WiFi is actually very fast and reliable in the hotel I just checked into - Not so much of a con, but they charge extra for beach towel rentals and there's no drinking water refill except for the first day you check in. I've stayed at many beach/island hotels and all of them had free beach towel rental and free water refill We originally booked 5 nights on Agoda but decided to extend 2 nights prior to check in. They suggested we pay in cash for a discount. We ended up staying only 3 nights because I have been inhaling moldy air and not been able to sleep properly for 3 days straight. I've brought up my concerns with front desk and they told me they have a no refund policy. I've had many bookings in 3 star hotels on tropical islands, so I'm well aware of the limitations of those hotels. However, Sea Cocoon is the only one that I felt like I had to leave because it was affecting my health.

The person at the airport took my bags and basically escorted me to the hotel with the driver. They had a bomb dog at the lobby that searched my bags which was interesting. Luckily I left my bombs at home. Got checked in and took a walk around the resort. Very clean property. Beach is on the back side of the hotel. Rooms are nice. They had big restaurant, a nice gym, spa facility, a game room and big lobby lounge area. Only thing that sucked was the pool and pool bar were closed for renovations. I also didn't like the grass areas around the sides of the hotel. Not very appealing since it wasn't even grass. Looks like green weeds. It was also very muddy since it rains on and off. The best part of this trip was the spa!! I tired to get a massage everyday while I was there but it didn't happen. I think her name was Charisse? I''m sorry for not remembering her name. She was awesome!!! Best massage ever in my life! Nothing like your typical Swedish or deep tissue like in the US. I had her do the combo every time I went. My typical routine every morning was to workout and then eat at the breakfast buffet at the restaurant which was amazing. They had all kinds of different choices of things to eat. Delicious and overwhelming! Overall, I enjoyed my stay. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Perhaps the only recommendation would be to have pool side service of drinks and food but otherwise the bar and Jinjer were close enough to the pools that it wasn't difficult to get anything. I liked the fact that it was tucked away a bit, making it very peaceful and quiet. The hotel offers scooters for rent, which we did one day. The also were able to recommend a private boat operator, which turned out to be the highlight of our vacation. We ended up booking the private boat two times during our trip. The complimentary breakfast was exceptional. The variety of food was more than my eyes or stomach could take! They had everything from made to order omelettes and pancake, selection of fresh fruits to a variety of traditional Filipino dishes.

We did the discovery dive and had a blast. All the dive masters were so friendly and informative. Our dive instructor, Kuya Randy is an expert and prepped us so well before we did our first dive. We felt super safe during the training and had fun on the 2 dives they took us. I would highly recommend this scuba dive shop. We will definitely come back!

It's about 2 hr drive from PPS airport, but the resort can arrange transportation for you. Plenty of activities for you to do here. A two hour car ride from the island's main airport, Daluyon is a beachfront property that's located on a small fishing village on Palawan's West side. While most backpackers and tourists head to El Nido or Coron, this has more of a local feel. Most of the staff call Daluyon home, not only because of its gorgeous surroundings, but also because they are from Palawan. And why wouldn't you stay here? you can wake up to the sounds of the waves lapping against the shore. All their accommodations are 2 story bungalows which felt private and luxurious. The wide balconies with rocking chairs was perfect for watching island wake up. You don't even need to leave the room until you're ready to eat breakfast since coffee and tea is provided. Speaking of food, you can take a short walk to town for super cheap lunches and dinners, but since we were treating ourselves (and the resort's food was so affordable anyway) we ate mostly at the restaurant. The food is top notch with sumptuous flavors and delicious dishes that's sure to satisfy every craving. If you're here on a weekend, take advantage of their very romantic dinner on the beach and pay the extra 300 pesos (about $6) for the set up. It felt like a scene straight out of the "Bachelor" and it was worth experiencing sand on your toes while you feed each other fried calamari :) If you're thinking staying at this quiet town will have you bored in two seconds flat, that's where you're wrong. Aside from the usual relaxing on the beach while reading Game of Thrones, the resort provides equipment to keep you physically engaged with nature: kayaks, scuba gear, snorkeling stuff, etc. When you get tired, head to the swim up bar and refresh with a Pina Colada. If the tropical heat gets to you and you prefer to be in the shade, order a "Halo-Halo", a typical Filipino dessert made with crushed ice, beans, tapioca balls, rice crispies, milk and ice cream. Aside from having the mountains as your backdrop and the beach at your disposal, the biggest plus of staying at Daluyon Resort is its close proximity to the UNESCO World Heritage site Puerto Princesa Underground River. We ended up staying here for the entire trip - the location was perfect. The only negative part is that you have to pass by the cemetery every time (haha). The Nest is a new resort in Palawan - I think they just opened last November, so at the time, their website was still down. We booked our room through them on FB - the days we were staying made us stay in two different rooms, luckily they had the villa (room 1) open for our last few days in EL Nido. The staff here were professional, attentive, welcoming and friendly. The room came with complimentary breakfast. We pretty much had breakfast and dinner at The Nest the entire time we were in El Nido. We also did the couples massage, which is right above their bar/restaurant. The view was fantastic!! I mean, every morning and watching the sunset was just amazing - you get the view of the Helicopter island. Since they are new, their bar and pool wasn't ready during our stay - the location of where they plan to have the pool is so perfect! - Can't wait to go back to this resort! I would definitely recommend the Nest. We left early for our early flight back to Manila so we didn't have time to have one last breakfast, but when we checked out, they had to-go breakfast ready for us. (WOW!) We also met the owner and the owner's son, very friendly/down to earth people. They also have complimentary tricycles, we were able to get picked up/dropped off at the Airswift airport and got dropped off at the Canopy Walk. One other downfall is that the location is right on the beach, but it's not in the nice part of the beach. Too many rocks - you can't really swim either.
