In the off season it is quiet, peaceful, and a good spot to get some fresh air. The views along the water are great, and the trails are easy to walk. There are a few issues that stand out. In the off season dogs are allowed, but some owners leave their dog waste behind which creates a mess and takes away from the park. This is one of the reasons why dogs are no longer allowed year round. You also see a lot of dogs off leash, and not every owner keeps their dog close or under control which can be frustrating for people who use the park responsibly. Parking has also changed. The lot across the street used to be available for park visitors, but it is now restricted to town residents. Most residents do not even use the park, so limiting parking like that makes it harder for the people who actually come here. Even with those drawbacks, Kingston State Park is still a nice place for a walk, especially in the off season. The scenery makes it worth visiting and it remains one of the quieter places to get outside for a bit.

While there, people started to invade our bubble, sitting on the picnic table 4 feet behind us to have lunch. Then more came swimming in the little cut out right in front of us. I know we don't own the place, but obviously we were trying to find a quite area. Also, there was plenty of open space all around so feeling the need to encroach on us was a mystery. A little "personal space etiquette" was needed.
