On June 7th 2015 I took the family, children's ages ranging from 5 to 17. I have always been impressed with Captain Gintas' effectiveness around small children but was stunned at how well he managed teenagers. The trip was awesome. Great fun on the lake! I've fished with Captian Gintas on the Angler numerous times over the years with consistant success. My most recent trip on the Fourth of July was no exception. The fishing was great and the spectacular view of the city was an added bonus. You don't have to be an expert fisherman to catch lots of big fish because Cap'n Gintas makes it simple and easy, even for the novice. He's been fishing Lake Michigan forever and knows where the fish are. He supplies the boat, tackle, bait, and expertise. We supplied our food & beverages. Mother Nature supplied beautiful sunny weather. At the end of the day we had a cooler full of fish, a seriously good time and maybe a little sunburn. I have been out with the Anglers Charter group twice, once this summer and once last summer. It was a blast both times. I never knew you could catch such huge fish in Lake Michigan unless you were on a commercial fishing boat. Captain Gintas definitely knows how to find the big ones out there on the Lake .Last summer I went out with 5 of my buddies andwe caught about 16 huge fish, brown trout, coho and salmon it was pretty nice. On the 4th I went out with him in a small party and we caught a ton of fish. I have 4 freezer bags full of fish. the crew cleans all the fish for you they even video for you if you want. It's a really nice trip it allows you to see one of the hidden gems in this great city of ours. read more

This was our third trip and had a blast. The first time we went fishing with Gintas we had a great time and caught a lot of great tasting fish. But our second trip was different. We did not catch 1 fish, but that's why it's called fishing. It wasn't the captain's fault the weather wasn't cooperating and he offered to reschedule for us but because we were coming from three different states we chose to go. We still had a nice time riding around on the boat with friends. The third time we caught our limit thanks to Gintas "giving" us two extra hours. His first mate Nick is awesome! My son and I had a great experience fishing with Captain Gintas aboard the Angler. It was my son's first charter and the Captain didn't dissapoint!! We enjoyed a nice boat ride out and were soon catching some world class fish. We booked our trip last minute and Captain Gintas worked hard to get us in. He booked us with another small group and we had an a us mazing time. We hauled in Steelhead, Lake Trout, and King Salmon until our arms were beyond sore. We haved used Angler Charters many times, for myself with my friends as well as with my family ( including younger children). What a great time! Almost always caught our limit in fish as well as seeing beautiful views of the city skyline. On hot sunny days we even jump in and swim in the middle of the lake, that is always fun. Captain Gintas is competent from his years of experience, and always shows us a good time. Took an afternoon charter on 6/3/2017. The weather was great, the water was calm and the fishing was pretty good. We caught 10 fish between the 6 of us. Gintas and Dennis ensured we had a great time. The boat was much more open, clean, and comfortable than what I have experienced on other charters. The one negative was the biting flies we came across. I would recommend light pants as as a result. Take the advice of the crew regarding reeling in the fish, these guys know what they are talking about and where to go to get some fish. read more

I went out with a group of friends last week and I am NOT one for the water yet alone fishing in the middle of Lake Michigan! Boy was I pleasantly surprised. Captain Gintas was A+ at making me feel comfortable and showing me the ins and outs of fishing. I don't know how this guy does it, but he is a master at his craft ( no pun intended). My group has been booking Angler Charters & Captain Gintas for many years now. I gotta say if you want to catch fish this is the boat. We have never been skunked and have a blast all day long. We spent a whole day on this boat captained by Gintas. This was not my first time on this boat and with the waves we had today I was really glad we weren't on one of the smaller boats out there getting tossed around. My wife sat in the lazyboy onboard all day and read her book as we pulled in fish after fish. Captain Gintas found the monster lake trout on our trip on the Angler. Our arms were aching from reeling in all those huge lake trout! Been out with the Angler 3 times in the last three years. Twice we got the limit and the other time we almost got it. Captain Gintas seems to know a lot about Lake Michigan fishing and a lot about the different kinds of fish. The boat was very comfortable. I took a morning Saturday charter in June and it was a blast. The boat was easily big enough for 5 guys plus the captain and 1st mate. Fish were hitting not too long after the lures went in the water and the water was pretty calm. Captain Gintas is just an all around good dude who made sure we had a blast. Capt. Gintas knows his stuff. Every time we go out he knows exactly where to find the fish. Wether you go for salmon trout or perch he has the equipment and know how to get them on the boat.
